(Ok, so no one decides to eat me alive, THE WORD 'CELESTIAL' MEANS 'GODLY'. IT IS IN NO WAY A REFERANCE TO A FANBASE OF MULTICOLORED HORSES.)
Celestial caverns is a great place for your family trip! The beautiful crystaline structures, the wonderful hiking trails, and the amazing view. Its also very safe; The entire facility is gaurded 24/7 and the cave has been completly fortified.
Well, used to be.
About two weeks ago the resort in the Celestial Caverns was closed due to the discovery of a very old crypt in one of the hiking trails. The entire place was abandoned and blocked off to any humans untill the spelunkers were ready to explore. But, as always, rules are broken and a group of a dozen or so people break in.
Just to be trapped when the only entrance is destroyed in a terrible accident.
But it isn't that bad. Oxygen supplies are created in an artificial biodome and there is a stockpile of food made to feed about a hundred people for up to a year, and water is not a proble either. So, it would be ideal just to wait for rescue to come, right?
Well, the problem is that one of these people is not what they seem.
The cave in was not an accident. Someone in the group of explorers is actually a bloodthirsty murderer that wants nothing but to kill everyone in the group and leave no survivors. And he will go through some pretty desperate measures to do so.
So you should just take that guy out, or lock him in a room, or something, right? Well, no one knows who the murderer is. And he/she hopes to make sure no one finds out... no matter what he has to do.
And he isn't the only one keeping a secret...
Tl;Dr: Learn how to read and read it.
BASIC RULES
Ever played Mafia, the party game? Basically, what you do is roleplay normally. But, say, if you are the murderer, you have the choice to kill people, and you want to make sure no one finds out it is you doing this. How would you do this?
Each person who joins will have 'Class' to be, and each 'class' has an ability. Say, the murderer can PM me and tell me if he wants to kill someone, how, with what weapon, ect. Another class, the Inspector, will have the ability to check out someone's personal belongings to make assumptions on what they happen to be.
The main idea of this entire thing: NO ONE KNOWS WHO ANYONE ELSE IS. (There is only one exception.). You can only THINK that someone is the murderer. Say the inspector finds a person who has lots of knives. He would immediatly think, "YUP HE'S EVIL". What if he is the doctor, doing emergency surgery on woundeds and saving lives? IF he chooses to tell everyone to kill this person and he was the doctor, he would in turn make himself suspicious and probably get lynched.
But what if it actually was the killer?
Thats the beauty of this mode. Betrayal. Your best friend could stab you in the back while you aren't looking, or you could reveal him to be evil even if you know he isn't. Its all about trust. And the person you trust could be very bad.
THE CAVERNS
The caverns are a beautiful and serene place. Well, except for the fact that someone is evil. Anyways, the caverns are actually VERY large and it would take a while to go through all of it. You will start out at the large opening to the cavern, with the hotel, shops, and most of the modern things. Heading out in any of the tunnels could lead to a dead end or just turn you back in circles. Who knows, you might find a secret. (Mayby even find the afore mentioned tomb?)
CLASSES
There will be 12 people playing. Two are alligned to the evil side, three are neutral, and the rest can choose their fate. Each class has a special ability. This ability is usable for their class ONLY. They may use this at any time, but night (When the lights are dimmed) Is ideal because people can't tell you are missing. This ability can only be used ONCE PER DAY (Unless stated otherwise)
When I say 'Perfered Class' In the CS, I don't mean you get to choose your class. It will help me decide what you get, but more likely you won't get what you want. Sorry, its just to make it fair.
Each class has the ability to Vote Lynch. Lynch means that everyone decides that one person needs to be executed because they think he is the killer. Unlike other abilities, votes will be put in on the actual thread to make it easier to count.
EVIL CLASSES: AKA, the classes that want to kill everything.
MURDERER Quote: I'm the murderer! {Clay World, war cry of the Murderer}
That guy people don't want to meet at night. Because he usually ends the encounter with a lot of blood.
The murderer has the ability to kill a player once per day. It is ideal to do while the person is sleeping or otherwise unaware because they would have less chance to call alarm or fight back.
When you kill someone, you require a weapon, which will be left at the scene so you can't be tracked as easily. If you have no weapon, you may 'Improvise' But this will give you a higher chance of their survival or even worse, them getting away with knowledge of who you are.
You have the secondary ability to automatically escape if attacked/captured at night. They will be alerted you got away, but not of your class. There is a 50% chance that your attacker is killed/injured.
Note that you may not get a sucessful kill every time, and just an injury.
The killer wins when only evil roles remain. He/She cannot win through other means.
TIP: Stockpiling weapons in your room is a bad idea because people might discover them. Try putting them away in different places (One you can acsess of course.)
PYROMANIAC Quote: MRRPH! MRRPH MRRPH! {A sucessful pyromaniac on taxes.}
The pyromaniac is like the murderer, but unlike him/her, likes to be a little more flashy with kills.
The pyromaniac loves fire, explosions, and otherwise light. The pyromaniac is an expert at homemade bombs and flamethrowers, and an expert at how to make sure that the least amount of evidence is left: Burn it.
The pyromaniac, like the killer, can kill, but only once every OTHER night to prepare the weapon used. However, when killing, NO evidence is left makining it significantly harder to track a murder
Note that every kill is sucessful unless they escape.
The pyromaniac has the secondary ability to, well, burn things. He can burn a building that seems important to the good roles instead of killing something. Note this is on a cooldown of once every other night.
The pyro can only win if only evil roles remain. He/She may not win by any other means.
TIP: You can ally with the killer! A great strategy is to use the burn ability on a kill the killer does to remove evidence and make it twice as hard to figure out what is going on.
NEUTRAL: Good, bad, whatever! Its your choice. Wins by special means.
PACIFIST Quote: DO NOT KILL THE CIVILIANS! {Stupid Voice in shooters}
The pacifist refuses to kill people. Thats just how he is. However, he doesn't want to die either, so he has to be a bit more careful.
The pacifist doesn't care what side he joins. Pyromaniacs, murderers? I'm in! Vigilante's, crazy doctors? YEA! The pacifist has the special ability to win as long as he/she is a survivor untill the game ends.
The pacifist cannot fight back if attacked. The pacifist, however, does have the ability to 'Hide' At night. This makes you completly immune to attacks because no one can find you. This can only be used TWICE, THE ENTIRE GAME.
The pacifist can win by special means or being alive at the end of the game.
TIP: Find out who the killers are? Vote WITH them in the lynching to take out those pesky towns and be the last one alive.
CULTIST QUOTE: I'm out of wall, so I'll stop the calender here. {Mayan stonecutter on December 21st.}
The cultist came for one reason: To find the underground crypt. The cultist knows there is something great and powerful down there, perhaps treasure, perhaps something more. Perhaps its just a trollface. Anyways, its cool.
The cultist can win one way only: Discover what is at the crypt. This is harder than it seems: The crypt is hidden pretty dang well. You will need to solve a few puzzles to do this.
Note that when you complete your mission, you win. You can die, or try to make it to the end. Do whatever you want to do. You won the game.
Probably one of the harder ways to win the game.
TIP: The meaning of the life, the universe, and everything.
SABOTOUR Quote: SPY SAPPIN MAH SENTRY! {A terrified engineer after being sabotoged.}
The sabo (Ima call him that.) Can mess stuff up for people. He one ability that can be used many ways; He can take and put objects in people's rooms.
The sabo can say, put a knife in someone's room. This makes them look like a killer. Person gets killed. Sabo is happy.
The sabo can also help the town by stealing items from someone who they think is a killer. They coult make it hader for people to die.
The sabo can join either side, or he can win by being the last one alive.
TIP: Try taking a bomb (From the pyro, if they have one) and put it somewhere. Run. Boom.
GOOD: Yup. All good roles win when the evil roles are killed.
MIXER Quote: Last call. {The time you look at your bill and freak out.}
The mixer worked as a server of good times up above. He does the same now, but... In a different way. He doesn't let the people know he did it.
The mixer has the ability to 'spike' someones drink and give them a very bad headache in the morning. They usually don't do anything that night. Therefore, they don't get the choice to use their ability.
TIP: Use your ability and no one died that night? Whoever you blocked is not what they seem.
DETECTIVE Quote: Elementary, my dear Watson.. {The grade the detective is still in.}
The detective is one of the more important roles in the game. The detective can, once a day, check out someone's room and find out some of their belongings. Lets say he finds out the person has a gun. Could be a killer. Could be the Vigilante.
The detective cannot check a person's ROLE, just clues to what they do. This makes your job difficult.
TIP: Don't reveal your findings immediatly. You could be wrong, or worse you could reveal that you are the detective and make yourself the next target.
DOCTOR Quote: I HAVE NO IDEA! {A wise doctor on if his experimental nuclear device will work.}
The doctor is another important role, almost more than the detective. The doctor can, once a night, watch over someone and give them drastic medical treatment if they are attacked that night.
NOTE that you can only do this to one person, so choose wisely on whoever you think is important. The person will be sedated, so you won't be revealed when you heal. The killer will not know that your target was healed, just that they 'Failed to kill'
TIP: A detective/Doctor alliance could be very good. If the killers try to kill the detective, you could save him/her every time. Just watch yourself.
LOOKOUT Quote: Look out! {Famous last words}
The lookout is another detection role, but he has a different ability. The lookout has the ability to watch someone for one night. He will know if they left and where they went.
NOTE that you don't know what they did when they went there, just where they went and if they left at all. Also note that you can only watch one person per night, and that you have a chance of being found by a killing role (This is unfortunate...)
TIP: If you see someone going to someone else and that person dies, then the person visiting them may have killed them.
VIGILANTE Quote: I'm batman. {A famous vigilante}
The vigilante takes the law into his own hands. He goes and kills who he thinks is bad. He has a revolver with TWO bullets.
The vigilante cannot be escaped from. He cannot be counter attacked by the killer. However, there is a 50% chance that the person is wounded and not killed.
Do note that there is a chance to accidently kill a town. This is usually frowned upon.
TIP: If you are right both times and you hit, you can kill both evil roles with your two bullets.
CORONER Quote: I see dead people. {What you do in your job.}
The coroner is a sad man. But he is important. The coroner can check out a body of someone who died and find out what happened.
He can discover how this person died. He can discover clues about the weapons left behind, and can often discover who was there at the time.
NOTE that the pyromaniac makes it much harder for you to do your job. You will get less knowledge from a person who is killed by the Pyro.
TIP: People killed by unconventional weapons (AKA something not usually thought of as a weapon) will be easier to identify.
TREASURE HUNTER Quote: It is dark. You are likely to be eaten by a grue. {Every treasure hunter's fear.}
The treasure hunter loves treasure. Thats why he came; To find treasure.
Boy, did he find some.
He is now going to use his treasure. The treasure hunter can use the 'Bribe' ability to get TWO votes in a lynch, but this immediatly reveals his role.
Note that once he reveals himself he is likely to get eaten by a grue. After being killed.
TIP: The 'Two votes' ability is usable forever after you reveal, untill your likely death.
