Vita: -Much more expensive as a whole. 1. $209.99 for the basic console 2. $24.99 price for only a 4GB memory stick 3. $50.00 is the most common price for a new game -Not very impressive unique features 1. Touchscreen in the back that doesn't really add much mechanics to a game 2. 3G, but you have to pay extra to get this feature, and it isn't a very useful feature compared to just using a smartphone -It was generally not well-liked in Japan, especially when compared to the PSP 1. This might mean that fewer games will be translated, and (though lesser than the last point,) that less games may be made -Games are small, thin, and easy to lose
3DS: -Relative to the Vita, much less expensive 1. $149.99 for all 3DSs 2. Free 2GB SD card comes with it 3. $40.00 is the most common price for a new game -New Features 1. While the 3D doesn't sound like a very impressive new feature, it is usually well-used in games and can add to the gameplay in some games 2. Streetpass allows you to share gameplay information with people that you pass when walking around without requiring you to actually interact with them a. this feature is used in every game I've played so far 3. Spotpass allows you to recieve news about games and other things without having to check it yourself. 4. the system itself informs you of new notifications -Easy to obtain and effective data storage 1. SD cards are easy to find and are usually inexpensive 2. Downloads don't use up much space on the card |

I only have a Vita, and here's what I have to say Pros: -It has a good price(compared to $500+ for a smartphone without a contract) -Incredible(but small) game lineup so far(Persona, Gravity Rush, Uncharted, LBP, Mortal Kombat, Jet Grind Radio) -dual analog sticks on a handheld -If done right, console quality games -Some social apps that work very well -Love dat Party feature -Long battery -Sleep mode for when you have to leave a game and can't save(lasts an entire month in sleep mode, too)
Cons: -Expensive memory(then again it's the same for any mobile device) -too glossy, gets smudges and filth easy -Game lineup dry until 2013(but beyond that it's going to be beautiful) -UI sucks -No video output(for playing on the bigscreen at home) -Everyone on the internet hates it
Can't compare to 3ds as I haven't tried one |

The Vita may be the best for the absolute power user but I dont see much point in geting it otherwise.

Also this can be either taken as a pro or con: -No homebrew piracy or emulation, and there wont be for awhile
I take it as a pro because that's the stuff that killed the PSP and we don't need it again. Other's might take it as a con because they really hate actually paying for their games |

The 3DS (but not the 3DS XL) is also made out of a too-glossy material. The layout of the 3DS isn't really made for opening and closing the screen as the outline of the touch screen leaves marks on the upper screen. they didn't seem to have the larger screen in mind.
Don't compare either console to a phone, it's irrelevant and an unfair comparison. |

"Don't compare either console to a phone, it's irrelevant and an unfair comparison" Well actually it's pretty proper because phones have become the most common mobile gaming device and the Vita uses similar technologies. |

The XL isn't an direct upgrade. You sacrifice portability, how well your games look*, and to an extent ergonomics.
* Bigger scren + no resolution increase = more pixelated |

| 3DS XL uses pixel filtering to fix that. |

@DrSnuedZ (Please don't change the Subject, no one really needs to see other than your username to know who you are, and you are not the subject of the thread either.)
It's unfair as phones aren't gaming consoles. It's irrelevant because we are comparing the 3DS and Vita. |

In terms of retail games, I choose 3DS. In terms of features and downloadable games, Vita (it has Crash Bandicoot on PSone Museum :3)

@ultrabot21 "I would have gotten PS VITA if there were more launch games." There were plenty of launch titles, including all the PS1, and other games from the PS store. It's kind of getting annoying when people just say "No launch titles".
At launch, there was 15 games avaliable (Not including PS store).
1)Army Corps of HeII (Yes, roblox would probably blocked this word if I didn't change it) 2)Dungeon Hunter Alliance. 3)FIFA Soccer (No idea why you would want this) 4)Hot Shots Golf World Invitational 5)Little Deviants 6)Lumines Electric Symphony 7)Marvel Vs Capcom 3 8)Michael Jackson: The Experience 9)Asphalt: Injection 10)Rayman Origins 11)Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen 12)ModNation Racers 13)Touch My Katamari 14)Uncharted: Golden Abyss 15)wipEout 2048
I'm quite sure that one could go a few days with 15 games, whilst waiting for the new games to be released. Now, there are titles such as: Metal Gear Solid HD collection, Disgaea 3, Gravity Rush, Little Big Planet Vita, Assassin's Creed III: Libertaions, etc.
Many consoles and handhelds don't have a huge range of games when launched, but after a few days, there is always plenty of choice avaliable. |

None of those launch titles seem very good. Touch My Katamari is the only launch title that interested me, but even then I'm not too big a fan of Katamari. Persona 4 Golden is the only other game so far to even matter to me. |

| I personally prefer PS Vita, just because I grew up with Sony and a PS2 in my household. So basically for me it's just what I'm more used to. (Yes, I own a PS3.) |
