The world will not end tomorrow because the Mayan's did NOT count leap years. Not just that, but the Mayans started believing in this because they found a ruin in a old Egyptian temple and starting believing the world was gonna end. But its NOT, the temple had said the world would have a constant renewal, not the end of the world. Also, the Mayans started a calendar for the next 300 some centuries, so basically, the Mayans had a misunderstanding.
For TL;DR:
Mayans believed a temple said end of the world but it said constant renewal. The mayans started a new calendar for the next 300+ centuries. They had a misunderstanding
Sincereily,

Funny that, because they didn't even predict the end of the world.
The Mayan Calendar had "cycles"- on December 21st, 2012, it was going to go into its third cycle. The Mayans predicted the end of the world would happen in the eighth cycle- but that will be in thousands of years.
Except it went into its third cycle over twenty years ago. They had only 10 months and no leap years. It should have ended 1986; but it didn't.
No need to worry. |

| Also, if the world did end, people hiding in the bunkers still would die, a billion weighed 1000 foot wave would crush you. So yeah... |

| The saddest thing about the hoax is that four people directly committed suicide because they believe in the hoax- as tragic as the deaths were, they were totally pointless. |

| How could the Mayans ever have visited an Egyptian temple? It wasn't until 1492 when the americas made contact with the outside world |

| And the whole thing was started by a calander, not a temple in a place where it was impossible for the Mayans to visit |

NOPE!!!!!!! (just to let you guys know, I didn't read anything else but the main forum post.) Mayans made calenders predicting when eclipses were going to occur. They didn't count leap year because they knew of no such thing. Using common since, that would make the world ending a long time ago. We are still here, so they were wrong anyway. I could go on, but I'm tired of explaining. Going to play some games. Bye!

| If they can predict the future then how come they never predicted there own deaths? |

Actually, the mayan calander was found sometime back. The people who found it translated it into all different languages, and into leap years.
So the first point is false.
And tails, there death was apparent to them. They believed they'd go to paradise. |

@tails
They did predict their own death. The Mayans believed that all civilizations eventually die from their natural superiors |

| Scuicide over this is redundant. If you dont, you live if it dont end, and then you still ahve that 99.9% chance of surviving. If you kill yourselfe, you die because your afraid of dying, which makes no sense |
