11493 deaths using guns in 2010. There are 300 million guns which are owned within the US. Food for thought.

The United Kingdom has one of the lowest rates of gun homicides in the world with 0.07 recorded intentional homicides committed with a firearm per 100,000 inhabitants in 2009 compared to the United States' 3.0 (over 40 times higher) and to Germany's 0.21 (3 times higher).

According to Wikipedia, the UK has a 1.2. Switzerland, with 0.7, requires everyone to own a gun.

Several more things influence crime other than gun control.

Yeah, but the guns that are used to break the law aren't low power hunting rifles, but high-power handgun's and other military weapons, which should require a huge background check but for some reason, don't. Food for thought

Gun control isn't the main security factor.

You forgot to mention the fact that Brits are generally a lil more intelligent than Americans, for reasons completely independent of gun control.

You also forget to mention the UK is not actively conducting a war on dr0gs, and has a failed prison system that takes small time criminals into hardened thugs, you also have to remember how the democrats of the 1960s created the ghettos and slums of gang warfare.

Switzerland also doesn't have this problem, nor does Germany.

East Timor has very few guns yet more murders than the United States.

United States has by far the most guns per capita, but is nowhere near the top for murder rate.

Simply put, gun laws aren't the main security factor and we shouldn't bother about them.

'Angry'

Not true tons of Americans are angry but, do not kill people.

'bored'

Again tons of American boys are bored but, they do not blow people up.

'young men'

Try taking all these kids off mental meds witch are known, to induce violence as a side effect and maybe they will not kill as much. Also do not allow autistic people to play violent video games and the crime rate will go down in their area.

'give them a job and they might quit.'

A lot of people have to turn to violence because, the wages have not caught up with the standard of living.

'The United Kingdom has one of the lowest rates of gun homicides in the world with 0.07 recorded intentional homicides committed with a firearm per 100,000;

You forgot to mention they have one of the highest violent crime rates in the world like Australia.

You also forgot to remember, that gun crime isn't the only type of crime. If there is a gun ban then no duh that the homicides with guns will go down if there is a ban. But, criminals always find another way to kill/hurt people.

Or ban violent video games in the cities that such crimes have committed in.

That is actually even worse.

If your theory is true and children are truly dependant on violent video games, they might more likely go on a rampage than if you keep it legal.

No, let's just ban GTA and GTA-clones. They are more likely to cause crime.

I think I might dig my old thread about violent video games, clean it up a bit and repost it.

@thereal

That explains everything. We shouldn't ban violent games at all! They keep children occupied and help them take out their anger on virtual people!
