--WHAT IS FEATHERWEIGHT YOU ASK?: As most of you know, the shiny new Featherweight code has been released for Roblox. This allows players to render original bricks much faster than before, thereby allowing games to have up to 10 times the amount of bricks they could previously support. It's a built-in Roblox update that occurred recently.
--THE NEW MAP: With the v4.0.0 update, I planned on expanding the current map and adding natural cover like rocks, bushes, and numerous trees.
I recently conducted a test with this new map. Running with an average of 43,000 bricks, it is nearly twice the count of the current version.
--PROBLEM: There's one problem. Two-dozen players were unable to download the new map before being timed out by Roblox. (The test was open for nearly 36 hours) This is not due to their computer's potential inability to render the game. This is because these players had such a weak internet connection that Roblox shut down their client because it was taking them so long to download the map.
--WHAT WILL WE DO?: We are proceeding with the update. We cannot be held back by players with inadequate internet connections, as we cannot expand the game unless we add more bricks.
Roblox may increase their download timeout, or perhaps they will make games load faster? I'm not sure what they're up to, but we're betting that they're going to make sure players with slow connections will be able to play bigger maps.
Our belief that Roblox is working on this is why we're not slowing down. We will release v4.0.0 sometime before Christmas, and we will do our best to ensure that as many players can enjoy it as possible... But we are not going to hinder Apocalypse Rising's development because a minor amount of players cannot connect to the game.

Question.
How about the FPS?
I average a 16 FPS in the current map.
In the new one, I averaged 10 and below.

Hey I got an idea. How about instead of expecting Roblox to do the work for you like a little kid, why don't you work around Roblox's limitations. Like making it where only youre area is loaded, and when you go to an area that another player is in it you both are in it. Hey Hathelpers (vary early in development) Dayz place does this. And the map is huge. Or you could make the buildings and ground made of voxels. But no you let the guys at Roblox do all the work for you because of how awesome you are.

| I could run the new map fine, but I was getting lower FPS rates, like, in this map, I get about, what, 25 or so, in the new one, I get like, 10-15. |

| Hey gus i actualy connected and it seemed pretty well a little laggy on 10 graphics (i have a monster computer) but anyway it would be fine mostly if they didnt time out. |

| If you would make it to were only the area around you is loaded, and make buildings be made out of voxels you could make the map 10 times bigger with minimal lag. Roblox isn't limiting you. |

| Heh, that is funny. I seem to get more FPS with the new featherweight. I usually run about 35-40 FPS on current map, and on new one I seemed to be running 45+. |

| Couldn't you make the v4.0.0 a new game and leave behind the current game so there will be 2 separate games.(one being the current map and one being the v4 map) |
