(9+3) = 12 48 ÷ 2 = 24 The equation doesn't have anything else I can do. 12 and 24. |

the 12 is in parentheses when a number is next to another number in parentheses you multiply |

24 x 9 = 216
24 x 3 = 72
216 + 72 = 318
48÷2(9+3) = 318

Parentheses first:
9+3=12.
Then multiplication and division, leftmost first.
48÷2=24. 24x12=288. |

| i see how you've got two. you've multiplied the 2 with 12 before you've divided the 48 by 2. division before multiplication. |
