Alrighty, so with my vain efforts to bring C&G back to it's former glory.
Let's introduce a thread worth a conversation.
Even though roblox has introduced more ranks to groups, I in all honesty don't believe that many ranks is completely necessary.
I think groups that hold too many ranks bog down the promotion process, and put newcomers at a disadvantage to the veterans who worked less to climb up the ranks.
Should the introduction of new ranks introduce faster promotions?
Or should the promotion time remain the same with a setback curve?
Or should new promotion systems integrate a larger complexity into the ranking system, looking at Catlord5's thread about
"Are clans becoming too complex?"

I discourage usage of a large amount of ranks.
Only add them as needed. |

| I believe that ranks shouldn't be as hard to obtain if there are more of them, though it should take a little (but not much) longer to advance along your way within a group. |

Depends on the clan system, to be honest.
For example, in a clan like VAK, other ranks are not needed, for the system is very straight-forward and classic.
Others, like UAF; have a more complex one, and with a more complex system, comes a need for more ranks. |

I think UAFs system strikes a median between too complex and too basic.
I like it. |

And hense, it needs more ranks, and because it's executed nicely (from my knowledge of disco's swag and the high ranks such as yourself), it's not a failure.
Other clans though, tend to add ranks where none are needed, and that can actually drag the group down. Clans with 1000 members can't possibly make use of the max-rank cap. |

| There needn't be 19 ranks in a group. At max, 10 should be sufficient enough. However, I do agree that you could get more ranks as your group evolves. |

| RAT has too many ranks and some don't have 1 person in them. |

My view of more ranks is this: Having too much is a bad thing if you can't handle it all, but it serves as an efficient alternative to discrete divisions and branches.
For example, if your group has something like special forces, you can simply add a few ranks to the ranklist of your main group and have those specific ranks locked our to the main group unless they reach certain requirements. This way, you don't have to use group space making individual group divisions.
The only issue with this, however, if that it may phase out division-specific items/perks.

I think that an abundance of ranks is unnecessary, causes confusion, spreads ranks thin and can make things unorganized.
Complicated promotion systems/rank systems are tricky and risky. The more straightforward, the easier to maintain. |

| I added 16 ranks to a group, not a good idea at all. |

How do you agree with a question?
The hell?
My opinion is, filling up allll of the ranks is ridiculous, and, as you said, "bogs down" the promotion system, yet not having enough is a problem, as well. |

However 19 ranks adds more chance of a flexible system.
For example, you could have a system of three tiers LR & HR + HIGHCOM. Inside the first two tiers, ranks are very fluent. You are promoted for showing up to a training, but demoted for every mistake. Only highcom is the same and it's members are selected by the leader and other leading members.
However, this system requires lots of ranks for a large range, as promotions and demotions are handed out easily.

I think the addition of ranks was an necessary advancement for clans.
It allows for more complex reforms and promotion systems to come out.
That may seem bad, but it will truly show what clan is good when a leader and his/her high ranks can come up with the perfect system, that is an equilibrium of complexity and simplicity.
Right now, I think the clan world is still in the aftereffect of the rank additions.
Clans are still coming out with super complex ranking systems that will definitely fail due to their complexity.
Soon, leaders will start realizing that huge systems are really bad, and rarely work. At that point, systems will become much more simple, and the entire thing will settle down to a balanced positioning.
