As many members of the USSF Airforce already know new aircraft are in the works. I have had the privilege to work with seanb117 on the scripting and construction of the new aircraft, and want to give everyone a status update as well as overall evaluation on the aircraft before they are released.
At this point in time the scripting for the aircraft is nearly complete. Seanb117 is currently fixing the GUI menus to hold information on the aircraft as well as instructions on how to use them. The rest of this will deal with the new airframes developed and the armament and subsystems mounted to them.
1.F-35B Cannon: 2 External gun pods
Missile Slot: A cluster bomb, large area of effect but low damage against vehicles
Rocket Slot: A group of 4 missiles, 4 are launched at once to defeat armour.
Bomb Slot: A group of 3 bombs is dropped, 1 after the other with a large are of effect and damage.
Speed: The F-35B has a medium speed, it is not as fast as the F-35A but is faster than the A-10C
The F-35B is a multirole aircraft capable of attacking both land targets and air targets. The key feature unique to this aircraft is its hover capability. The F-35B is capable of holding its position to make use of its fast reloading cannons to lay waste to infantry and vehicles to get caught in its path. Be warned though - hovering has been shown to reduce the life expectancy of both aircraft and pilot.
2.F-35A Cannon:Internal minigun, fast firing and high damage
Missile Slot: The F-35A is capable of firing guided missiles, maximum carried is 4.
Rocket Slot: 4 Fast rockets are launched, capable of defeating armour but mostly used for other aircraft.
Bomb Slot:A group of 3 bombs is dropped, 1 after the other with a large are of effect and damage.
Speed: The F-35A is the fastest of all aircraft, so even if a missile is inbound it is possible to outrun it in the right circumstances.
The F-35A is the fighter aircraft for the USSF airforce. The combination of speed and agility, with the lethal and deadly bite of its guided missiles make it a versatile and effective way to down enemy aircraft. The main feature of this aircraft is the guided missiles, which can punch through armour and aircraft with the use of a single shot. Be accurate and sparing with your rounds however, they are limited in number - and that number is 4.
3.A-10C Cannon: External GAU/8 Avenger minigun. Massive Firepower!
Missile Slot: The A-10C is armed with deadly missiles. With a large radius and high blast pressure these will probably need to be toned down in the future.
Rocket Slot: Rocket pods are mounted to the exterior of the A-10C. They fire in groupings of 10, so stay on target while firing!
Bomb Slot: The A-10C is armed with two powerful cluster bombs, capable of clearing of massive are of enemy infantry.
Speed: The A-10C is the slowest of all aircraft, so don't expect to outrun any threats!
The A-10C is a true monster. The power of the GAU/8 Avenger is amazing to behold- Infantry will be sure to be calling in the 'Angry Dragon' to wipe out any infantry squadrons or vehicles that happen to be in their way. Don't underestimate the secondary weapons though. The cluster munitions effect a wide area of enemy infantry on detonation, and the rockets can give relatively accurate fire support on a target area. In conclusion the A-10C is incapable of taking on enemy aircraft - but the shear amount of firepower they can lay down on an enemy ground position more than makes up for it.
/)INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE(\ Y - Start up aircraft X - Stop aircraft R - change landing gear position L - Activate bomb slot K - Activate rocket slot J - Activate missile slot F - Fire the cannon M - Speed up N - Slow down ---F-35B and F-35C only--- B - Activate afterburners C - Disable afterburners ---F-35B only---- Z - engage hover mode ---F-35A Only--- V - Start locking sequence (to achieve a lock on an enemy target press and hold V. The cursor should go green. While the cursor is green, click the target you want to lock on to and then let go of V. If the lock is successful the cursor should go red. If it does not, try pressing V again and gaining your lock again. If it is successful press J to fire a homing missile!)
Please give me any form of feedback you feel is relevant to this, and give us some suggestions for changes we can add or additions to the airframes! |
