I'm hoping for actually useful dual wield.

Dark Souls was an amazing game.

Since I haven't seen anything I want new content. There has been games time and time again that had their first game just be amazing and then their sequels just be awful.

@Overwatcher
I'm hoping they remove the DWGR mainly because it over-simplified PVE and PVP all together. I mean its debuff is okay at the moment, but its still rather annoying that a majority of my hits struggle to hit. I also hope they continue to make their side Story lines like Solaire or Siegmeyer. Sure they were small parts of the game, but the emotional depth behind it is sad but amazing at the same time. I don't doubt they'll change the gameplay or overall theme of it because they've kept it the same for their past two games, so why change it now?

@Explicit

Yes they are in fact calling it Dark Souls 2 since its a continuation off of the Dark Soul's Universe. I believe the events take place after your fight with Gywn, the Lord of Cinder. They would have called it something else if it something completely different from the undead or the setting of it. Kinda of like how they changed the story from Demon Souls to the current story of Dark Souls.

@gunny

It's more likely that the events take place during the cycle AFTER Gwyn is defeated.

also DWGR does nothing but add more I-frames, doesn't need a nerf or buff.
They already nerfed it so you need <25% carry weight, compared to before where it was <50%.

I'm hoping for the hornet ring's anims to happen if you score a particularily damaging critical attack, not JUST if you wear the ring.

I also ohpe there will be some form of backwards compatability.
I would absolutely love to wear Chester's Longcoat while I explore DS2.

hell, even have our old character INVADE us in the last half of the game, that would be absolutely amazing.

also people who use "point down" or "well what is it" after a killing a enemy player should have the toxic debuff activated on them.

Yes i understand the debuff of the ring was lowered to 25% Equip load, but overall i just wish it was gone entirely mainly because it made the game pretty easy in both PVP and PVE. I tested it out and i was blazing through people in PVP as well as bosses in PVE. I would say that in order to use it you have to sacrifice your armor(poise), but it gets rather annoying to see it used in PVP the way it is along side hornets ring. I see it mainly used as a fishing device more than anything else now on Dark Souls.

I suppose I'd have to agree.

A small nerf where you need less then [AMOUNT] of poise to use it (would make sense, more poise = more restricting, no?)

I do want it to stay, as I actually used it for dodging the Dragonoid AOE attack (quite a feat in PVP, due to lag issues)

Well its already like that. You need to be 25% below the equip burden that your character can handle, so most peoples poise is relatively low(Unless they're for some reason wearing Wolf's Ring as well). But the problem being is that even if they do mess up their rolls and end up getting stunned locked do to low poise, it'll rarely ever happen that often because the Invinc. Frames that occur during the DWG Ninja flip last quite a while and can repeated over and over in various amounts do to your endur. Now combine that with someone who has a +5 Chaos Blade in a dex build that does over 300 damage per single handed light hit and you've got an easy to use build.

@Gunny

I dunno, I can hit people using DWGR with my Uchigatana just fine.

Also, I moreso meant, wearing elite knight armor (arguably the most "balanced" armor, statwise, in the game) should not allow you to flip due to poise.

also on the topic of the dex build, that's actually rather weak, considering my +15 uchigatana unbuffed will do around ~426 or so in a single hit.

honestly, the issues you may be having with DWGR may be caused by latency issues. I say this cause, I'd often dodge out of a greatsword's attack range, and it'd still hit me despite me being around two feet from the tip of the blade.

Since we are talking about Dark Souls, I have run into an issue.

I have hit a brick wall of progress.

I'm a level 51 thief that is more of a swordfighting pyromancer who dodges around now.

I can't kill Sif.
I die from the first two guards of Sen's Fortress, let alone the actual fortress.
I am far too high level to help noobs out or invade them.
I get cursed INSTANTLY in The Great Hollow (Seriously, I get cursed before the bar even shows up).
I'm using a Drake Sword. I made a huge mistake of getting a Divine Zweihander, as the Zweihander is a famous weapon, and I thought the 140 Divine damage worked on all enemies (Too used to other RPGs).

Adding on top of what I said earlier about the DWGR,

To clarify, let's say armor sets are divided into categories.

Light, Med, Heavy,

You should not be allowed to use DWGR if you have over X amount of poise AND are wearing multiple parts of medium, or one part of heavy.

Wearing a medium gauntlet, with light everything else, will be fine.
Wearing full havels, however, will not be fine.

@Over

I'm a sword-fighting pyromancer who dodges as well, so i'll provide my tips.

Sif -> Hang around his legs/stomach area, switch a shield to something with decent stability, attack when you have a opening, shield when he's about to attack. He does chip damage, but if you heal during some openings you should be fine.

Sen's Guards -> Parrying and backstabbing is your best friend.

High Level -> Actually, levels 45-50 are the norm for sens, if I remember correctly. The norm for Anor Londo is 55-75, so.

Hollow -> Great Hollow is a optional area, no need to worry about it until later.

Drake Sword -> Yeah, you're kinda screwed. I'd suggest (based on personal
experience) to kill the Undead Merchant in the undead burg (buy as many repair powders as you can, however, before doing so.), and to grab his Uchigatana (which I still use at SL 99, the normal pvp level for dark souls PC.)
-Alternatively, you could avoid killing him altogether and just simply rush into New Londo Ruins, find ricard's -rapier, and use that.

In sen's, do everything in your power to be able to fast roll AND take a lot of damage.

also, when you get to Anor Londo, have fun fighting Oreos and Smores.

Whenever I get past the guards at Sen's Fortress, then that one part where you have to walk across the bridge with the mage shooting at you becomes the problem.

I think I will go into New Londo Ruins. Should I run past the ghosts or fight them using my transient curses?

That mage, just ignore him until you get onto his bridge.

For the ruins, your choice. I'd personally fight them, due to the possibility of getting the Jagged Ghost Blade, which allows you to attack them even if you don't have any transient curses.

Thinking about it, I'm just going to activate unlimited health using a trainer my brother found (It's by Skidrow, so it should be clean)

If you are, do the MP community a favor, and do not go human.

also, fall damage is a %, so if you fall far enough, you will still die, despite unlimited hp.

and oh man, does sen's funhouse have a looooooot of falls.

I'm still hollow. My brother, whenever he was invaded, turned unlimited health on, and if the person was fighting legitimately (Modest gear, no cheats) he turned it off.

My brother was in The Depths when he was invaded. He turned unlimited health on, started fighting, realized the guy was legit, and turned it off. Because of the unlimited health he won. 20 minutes later he gets invaded by the same guy, and keeps unlimited health off. The invader wins.

According to the Dark Souls Wiki, Ricard is found in Sen's Fortress.

No its still just Dark Souls 2. When Dark Souls was made, it wasn't made as a Sequel to Demon Soul's, but as a spiritual successor. It has the same mechanics and game play in mind, but is based in its own universe and treated as a new game. The creators even said this.

I still wouldn't suggest using hacks to beat the game. It takes that layer of depth away the makes Dark Souls what it truly is. The only hack i can ever really approve of is the inventory/stat on a new character after you've beaten the game with a legit character. I say this because a person has already proven to be able to beat the game through legit terms. I would even consider it to for making pvp characters, because why should i spend another 10+ hours on a character to find out that i like the build im making with him.
