this program perfectly punctuates poverty of emotion, this program holds a pansophical panacea to life, death, prosperity and prevalence, this program may pasteurize your milk and perforate your papers, this program may open the perception of pedantic pupils and provide a pedagogy of solving paradoxical problems, but for now it is anything you might choose to be other than that, perhaps you must provide a perseverance to persist in perceptive practice. the program is listed below. be extremely careful with its power, for it may destroy the complexity and simplicity of the mind and may create a subtle fusion of third-dimensional objects with quantum superstate properties. only a fool would see this as idiotic.
dr = 100; -- distance_required midpoint = dr / 2; print "I am a traveler of both time and space."; print "Where I am going is 100 light years away."; print "However I must plan this out first." print "Metaphorically, we can say that light years are equal to meters."; print "Therefore I am planning to travel 100 meters away."; print "However, there is a midpoint, a checkpoint that must be reached before I can reach 100 meters."; print midpoint.. " is the midpoint is my travel."; print "However, there is a midpoint of my midpoint that I must reach."; print "I must make further calculations."; for i=1, 100 do new_midpoint = midpoint / 2; print new_midpoint.. " is the midpoint of "..midpoint.."."; wait(); end print "This could go on infinitely."; print "How will I ever reach my goal?"; |

Two light years.
inf ∑ (1/2^x)+...+(1/2^inf) = 2 x=1 |

so i will reach an infinite amount of numbers? motion is a lie. |

however, according to calculus this may be disproved, however, motion is still motion, and you are steadfastly not going anywhere.
perhaps this is more than we think. perhaps, if we created motion with this using MoveTo() we would not go anywhere. |

it doesn't need calculus to be disproved does it
let A be the starting points, B be the ending point, C the midpoint of AB, D the midpoint of AC, E the midpoint of AD et cetera ad infinitum
then the distances and (assuming constant speed) times to reach points follow a geometric series e.g.
s = CB + DC + ED + ... + ZA (pretending Z to be infinitely far into the alphabet?) s = 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + ... (1) s/2 = 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 + ... (2) s/2 = 1/2 (1) - (2) s = 1 |

| good, you're catching on sdfgw, however, doesn't this prove we have a finite universe? |

no it proves that infinite terms of infinite descent may sum to a finite quantity
infinite terms of finite quantity may still sum to infinity |

| right sdfgw, however, the infinite multiverse theoretical device says that there is an infinite quantity of infinite universes. |

@OP:
but infinity times infinity is still infinity
take a plane of infinity length on each length - it is still as infinite as an infinite line would be, only in a higher dimension |

not necessarily it is impossible to multiply infinity. |

| well not in a mathematical sense but there are situations in which nested infinities may arise, such as the ones to which we have already alluded (the infinite plane, infinite infinitely large universes) |

Infinite*Infinite = Infinite^2
Yes, it's very possible to multiply infinity! |

infinity isn't a number, it's a concept
you can't apply standard arithmetic to it |

some infinities are bigger than other infinities. ex: the set of natural numbers is smaller than the set of integers.
just thought that would be interesting to point out

@thek00lkid "we could pretend" "pretend"? do you think this is a game? DO YOU THINK LIFE IS GAME? DO YOU THINK LIFE IS JUST A HUGE WORK OF IMAGINATION AND CREATIVITY? DO YOU THINK LIFE IS TRUE? LIFE IS FALSEHOOD. FICTITIOUS. UNREALISTIC. NONEXISTENT. SIMULATED. FALSE. FAKE. SPURIOUS. APOCRYPHAL.
no, i'm kidding. though you simply cannot "pretend." |

| Sorry, I meant to say 'assume'. A variable can store any value anywho. |
