Ok, so, this morning I woke up and powered up my laptop. But instead of going to my desktop, this white page came up with the "FBI" symbol in the top left corner and said my computer had been locked on account that I had "illegally downloaded music" (which isn't true, for I use Apple to buy my music with prepaid iTunes cards) or had broken a copywright law and that my computer had been shut down. It then proceeded to say that I had to pay a $200 fine in 48 hours or charges would be pressed.
It turns out it was fake.
But my mom's PC was having this problem, aswell as my sister's laptop. Has anyone else had this happened to them today or recently?

1. Power off PC. 2.Re-turn it on. 2. Before the ' FBI ' page loads press f8 every 2 seconds. 3.It will take you to safe mode options select the 2nd one. 4.It will open a desktop with a browser. 5. Go to norton/npe. 6. Scan for risks. It will restart. 7. Once restarted it scans, then it will show the startup risks, click on ' fix ' and your PC will restart. 8. The ' FBI ' screen locker is gone. |
