Just a show of hands. Any flaming or fighting will be reported. But providing a logical arguement is OK,encouraged, even. |

| I personally liked both games, but I felt that New Vegas was much more expansive than the first game and you could really immerse yourself in the environment more. The only problem, if you are going to buy New Vegas I would HIGHLY recommend that you buy the DLC as well. There are many background elements of the story located in the DLC that only makes the game even better. |

| By that I mean originality and non-linearity. |

I can rant a lot about which game in a series is the best, especially when a developer like Bethesda is involved. New Vegas adds gameplay improvements, but I prefer 3's overall atmosphere. From a roleplaying perspective, atmosphere is even more important than gameplay. |

It depends what kind of a gamer you are.
Fallout 3 has better story.map and DLC
Fallout new vegas has better guns places and some other things like funner endings and hoover dam battle was a genius idea. Gambling is fun.
I got both and i recomment you Fallout 3 game of the year edition because you get the DLC with it and after finishing the game you still play. |

FO3's story is linear garbage that is riddled with holes

| Am I the only one who preferred Fallout: New Vegas's atmosphere? I feel as if the game was able to capture the horror elements of the original games, but maintain it's comedic, over-the-top moments, as well. It was the perfect FO game IMO. |

I didn't like FNV's environment or atmosphere. It wasn't as fun to explore as FO3's to explore and FO3 more accurately captured "holy crap this place is destroyed beyond recognition". FNV was just a desert and New Vegas itself was tiny.

NV is much more open and gives you a lot more choice than FO3
Still if NV is my #1 favorite game ever
Then FO3 is #2 |

I agree, with you to some extent, but at the same time I adored NV's environment maybe because it reminded me of a variety of western movies: all of which I adore. It was just so cool walking through the desert I felt like The Man With No Name. Apologies if that sounds silly, but still.
I've been meaning to play F3's expansion packs, but have yet to get around to them, maybe my opinion will change once playing them. |
