There was a bill voted on today in Michigan that was going to decide whether gray wolves would be legal to hunt or not.
I really hope it wasn't passed :L |

"why? conservation is important. culling the wolf population so it doenst get out of control is extremly important."
The wolf population is no where near the level of over-populated, it just barely became stable from the last time their numbers went down. |

While I agree wolf hunting needs to be legalized at some point, the population still needs to grow some before hunting would be safe for the population.

I honestly don't know why we shouldn't be able to hunt wolves. I can't really think of anything useful they can do for society, other than providing warm pelts.
And yeah, making them legal to hunt would help prevent overpopulation. They're fairly dangerous animals, especially in packs. |

There's deer season, duck season, etc... Why not wolf season? It can be for a little while in the fall, maybe. -- ≈Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn! I'a, Cthulhu fhtagn! I'a, Cthulhu fhtagn! I'a, Cthulhu fhtagn!≈ |

As Jimi said, they don't provide anything for use. They are dangerous, however. |

I'm surprised at how many of you think wolves do nothing.
The extinction of wolves from anywhere, and especially Michigan, would allow every one of it's prey to thrive with little to no danger, causing multiple species to overpopulate, and ultimately disrupting the very sensitive ecosystem and natural chain that exists in life. You can't take out an animal as important as a wolf and expect no repercussions.
And like I said, wolves are absolutely no where near over populated right now. They aren't even at a stable level. |
