I was bored, so I looked around looking for often discussed topics. And then I though about this.
My opinion? I find it pretty stupid how people start thinking that males playing females have some sort of secret wanting to be a girl. There can be plenty of reasons to choose a different gender.
I play both males and females, depending on what game. Sometimes, I like the female appearance more for a certain character I'm making. And I'm a roleplayer, and some roles work better for female characters.
And well let's be honest, it's just a game. :P |

"IK it's kind of weird."
unless they are erping it's not weird at all
but even then it's the erping that's weird, not being a female character |

| In most games I will play a male character. Like in "Mass Effect" some of the more emotional scenes didn't look right, with a female character IMO, and generally when being able to create a character I tend to base them on me. Still, I don't see anything wrong, with playing as a member of the opposite gender. |

Nothing wrong with it, as long as they aren't pretending they ARE a girl.

It really depends on the game for me.
For some reason, most of my Skyrim characters are female though. |

Well, yeah that's pretty logical. :) Pretending you are actually a girl can result in a very akward moment. :P |
