If you stubbornly ignored my warning and are still here.....read the first paragraph, and either agree to my terms or LEAVE.
Yes I am fully aware of the hate replies I will get. I'm expecting 100%. I'm not going to bother tying to changed anybody's mind, I'm fully convinced society is in too deep for that. Expecting lots of TL;DR's, because people are afraid of the truth, or lazy. If all you are going to do is just report this because you don't like what I have to say, don't bother reading this. If you read this far, don't bother reading any further if you don't have any respect for other opinions.
There are those who will argue, who will try to prove me wrong, who will try to change my mind, who will defend their video games. I don't want to hear your lame excuses, opinions, or comments. SO WHAT if your school is different, SO WHAT if some games aren't violent, I'm addressing the ones that ARE, and I don't care what you have to say.
It has come to my attention that games have gotten excessively violent. Not on here, but on consoles. First person shooters are a specific problem, often being nothing more than glorified slaughter simulators. On top of that, parents and grandparents often purchase these games WITHOUT looking at the ratings, WITHOUT looking at any reviews, and WITHOUT considering what other negative things are in it.
When I was seven, I built forts in the woods, played with my sister, enjoyed games with little or no violence. I wanted to be a railroad engineer. In school we learned how to read and write, I read good literature almost constantly.
Not true with some of the seven year olds I know today. They play games such as Call of Duty, they think its FUNNY to kill people, some of them pretend to be "bombers". They talk about how when they grow up, they want to be a serial killer. In school they read books of violence and with descriptive killing in it. They watch movies with excessive violence.
Our current situation is disturbing. Often times people can't see the consequences of their actions, or don't even care. Society has been mislead by people who are too scared of the truth to admit they were wrong, and the "sheeple" blindly follow them to destruction, and, when someone tells them this, they stubbornly refuse to accept it. People act for the now, they don't consider the future consequences.
I'm not saying video games are bad, and I'm not saying books are bad. I'm saying the wrong kinds are bad and do SERIOUS damage. Not all schools are like that, not all kids are like that, don't bother telling me about them, I don't need to hear it. I don't WANT to hear it.
And of course I've already said this, but, this community is too lost to understand or care, and their sole interest is ironing out the bumps(those who don't think like they do.)
I've always been the "loner" in the community, always will be, unless someone decides to stand up for what's right other than myself. Admins, feel free to delete this post if it breaks your rules, don't care. I've said my piece, however confusing that might be.

I don't have a blog to put this on so I put it here, capeesh? Don't have anything nice to say? Don't say it!

| I believe that FPS games, aren't that bad, but kids in elementary or middle school shouldn't play them. Maybe fourteen is a bit young, so fifteen? There really needs to be a median rating between T and M, imo. |

How is this a controversy? I'm sorry, this isn't meant to be negative if it is, maybe I missed a part but if not then the title mislead me xD and honestly, not to be rude, but this just sounds like complaining in my opinion.
I try to be honest, not mean FYI. And no it's not sarcasm, it's just so hard to find honest people so I try to be one of the extinct people. |

You made a really good point. Yet, I simply cannot disagree. It's impossible to. |

Holy crap, there are people who want to grow up and become serial killers? I'm not sure whether I should be sad or terrified… or both.
Also, not everyone on the internet disagrees with everything anyone else says. You don't have to be QUITE that cynical. |

| You think nobody cares? Society's standards change, this is just a very sudden change. It's not like it's going to change, it'll only get worse, but the thing is, it won't be worse to them. It won't even matter. |

I'm bitter and cynical. My past treatments after posting such things have been harsh in the past. Very harsh. I agree I could have left out some of that. |

People here act like they have their lives figured out.
Lol. Good luck in the next 20 years.
Even if your 20, you don't know who you are yet. People usually don't know until their 30's usually. So good luck, life's gonna kick you hard. |

| I see myself an exception to that second statement, but it wouldn't have offended me anyway if I didn't consider myself an exception. Am I an odd one out, in a good way? |
