Prelude: 64 bit processors are becoming (and I believe they actually are) a common sight in nearly all computers made after 2008. Software is making the switch over to 64 bit and in the somewhat-distant future, the 32 bit comatibility mode Windows has may be non-existant. Browsers are migrating over to 64 bit (Internet Explorer 8, 9, and 10 already have) and Firefox 16 may introduce a 64 bit build when it's released. Opera 12 already supports it.
Main: My suggestion is that ROBLOX needs to be future-ready. The earlier it is 64 bit compatible, the better. I'm sure that at the moment it has some dependencies which require a 32 bit process but Roblox Studio 2.0 may change that. I use Firefox 17 alpha 64 bit and every time I attempt to join a game or go into edit mode, it nags me to download ROBLOX (Which I already have, it just cannot find the ROBLOX Player plugin).
Roblox should at least have a 64 bit dummy plugin which simply forwards the join server URL over to the 32 bit launcher so that users with a 64 bit browser can still play. Now that the Play ROBLOX client has been removed in favour of the client, this feature is even more important. I can still play by launching Internet Explorer 32 bit or through ROBLOX Studio, but this is not exactly something I would want to do as it's a slight inconvenience.
Postlude: I can't see any downside from this minus the fact it may take a somewhat longer amount of time for the client to update because it has an extra file to download but this should not be a large or "revolutionary" change. I'm not a developer so I can't see from a developer's standpoint, but I believe it may cost a bit to have a 64 bit compiler running just for something so small.
Thanks for reading, opinions/replies would be appreciated |

| Support. A small thing like this could save the devs some headaches once the next thing that pushes everything closer to obsoleteness happens. |

| @Life0nMars Actually this has no benefit to you as this will help modern computers, not old ones. |

| Exactly, Mr no grammar sense, My old computer is about to break, and this suggestion will benefit new ones, and when it breaks, I will get a new one. |

| @Rushour3 Try using Internet Explorer 64 bit. It'll tell you that you don't have ROBLOX installed when in fact you do. |

| @catycat333 That's because you're using a 32 bit browser. However 64 bit browsers are taking over. Roblox is 32 bit meaning you can't use a 64 bit browser to play it unless they have a special plugin for 64 bit browsers. |

64-bit processors are common hardware but, surprisingly, 64-bit enabled programs are not. The thing is, not many OEMs (Such as Dell) are smart enough to preload a 64-bit OS onto a 64-bit PC. Certainly this will increase ROBLOX's performance on newer machines but a large deal, and certainly would give ROBLOX much leeway to develop newer and better features into the game itself, but I'm not sure how many people it will reach because of the whole "OEMs not preloading 64-bit OSs" problem.

| OEMs have been loading 64 bit operating systems by default since Windows 7 came out in 2009. Three years later, it's more common in desktops than 32 bit systems are. |

Support. I tend to avoid 32-bit programs like the Black Death if at all possible. My school has already taken the initiative to scrap most of the 32-bit components from the tech-department.
Though, at the present moment, ROBLOX would have no use for this. Their graphics and physics quality is already so low that in all realistic situations it should never exceed the 2 GB cap a 32-bit process has. And I'd rather them not make it a 64-bit process until they clean up their funky rendering engine, seeing as for whatever reason ROBLOX feels the need to use up more than a full gigabyte of RAM and more than 50% GPU uses on an overclocked 550 Ti. I'm afraid that if it ever becomes large-address aware, I'm going to have a very bad time on the very few occasions I actually do decide to load up this game.
Nevertheless, if it gives them the required leeway to actually improve this game, I'll support it.

50/50, would the download be mandatory? Because some people aren't using modern computers. |
