7/10/1944. That is the date I accidentally dislodged myself from Time. I had been doing some research for the Army into psychic warfare, mind reading that sort of stuff. However, something went wrong, and I was dislodged from Time. I floated endlessly in the place out of Time... I had a name, I think... Before the accident, however, I am either too old, or too young to remember it. I do not know which it is. The place out of Time is rather interesting. It is all purple. There is no end to it either, or perhaps, there is, and it is large enough that you cannot tell, but small enough that you could walk forever on it. I do not know which, it was all the same. I was insane for quite a while, I think. It could have been days, or it could have been thousands of years. In either case, I eventually regained my sanity, and I discovered I could step into Time. I did it quite by accident, like all my life up to this point. I stepped out quite interestingly enough, two seconds after the Accident, has I now call it. They blinked at me in surprise the little army men did. I looked different. I had a long straggly beard, long hair, and a crazed look in my eyes. My coat was in tatters too, goggles smashed. I had only been gone a couple of seconds. Then I looked behind me and saw what I have come to call, or will come to call depending on who is reading this, shortcuts in Time. I can see them even now; they look like cracks in the glass. Since everything is happening at once, and yet, not at once, our Universe has looped in on itself. Where all days in the time meet, there is a seam in the Universe, the catch is this though: You can only step through the cracks of that day, in that spot, or near it. Therefore, I could not step out of our time at 7/10/44 and arrive at 7/11/1844, without going to the place out of Time. However, that is a long and hard process to go through, ultimately not worth it unless I really needed it. I could simply go to the seconds before the change to the next day of every day until I get to the day I want, a process that is much easier and seemingly faster.

I do have a home in the place out of Time. It is rather neat. It does have some of da Vinci's earliest arts, and some furniture that you will never see anywhere else. I have a ray gun from 3300 AD, a crystal skull from an alien race, from 33222 AD, and various other things. Of course, the one that I am most proud of is the first one I ever received, back in... Oh when was it... 2210. Man had just made it outside of our own space finally. Something in my age that we only read in science fiction books and heard on our radio shows. The object is simple and unassuming, something that is oddly out of place among the strange and mystical things that surround it. A teddy bear, given to me by a young girl, by the name of Somebody. She had beautiful blond hair, and eyes so blue that they make the sky jealous to look at. Fair skin, too, like the color of a Calypsian sunset. What was the story behind this teddy bear you keep asking me, or will? Depending on where you are. Well, if you give me a moment, I will tell you...

Let me see... We were on the moon of Jupiter, I do not recall which. At least I was, I do not know how or why any more, or perhaps I do. This was my second trip from the Place out of Time. I had phased quite by accident, on a space ship. It is rather interesting, it was not like your space shuttles, and it was beautiful. It was aerodynamic, thermodynamic, and even hydrodynamic. It was FAST. It took off and landed like a plane. Every science fiction author's dream come true. As I said, it was quite by accident, so imagine everybody's surprise when I just randomly stepped out of nowhere. They were about to detain me for questioning, probably thinking I was a spy or something, when the space ship took off, heading for the colony. We arrived there a couple of days later. They almost detained me there, again, but instead of detaining me, somebody whose life I had already saved r will save stopped them. That is the problem with time travel, you know. There is always this tricky business of saving somebody in your future, but in their past. It was a young man, by the name of Charles Wellington IV, and he was an Englishman, and black. He had reached Dukedom by saving the current Queen of England's life. His current queen, not yours, obviously. Anyhow, I had (or will, again, Paradoxes,) saved him from falling into a vat of pickling oil. He called me "Dr. Paradox", and that is where I got my new name. He told me that was what I had told him to call me.

I looked at him, and nodded, it was a fitting name for a man out of Time. He told me that the only spoiler to his future that I would give was that my name was to be Doctor Paradox, and that he was the one to call me it. That pleased me, I guess. He smiled and showed them his badge and then he took me to his house. We talked, but since this was technically our first meeting, he did not tell me anything other than my own name. (Naughty, he said to me, asking about spoilers when you would not give any.)

Of course, I learned what I needed to learn. He was the one to teach me the rules. You cannot reveal anybody's destiny to them that was the most important rule. You cannot warp to any place out of sight, bad things COULD happen, and it is best to stick away from where that could happen. Something to do with Murphy's Law, he explained, and the final rule, you cannot change history. What you do to change history can result in a Paradox forming, and those are difficult to destroy. We enjoyed the caviar and the rest of our evening, discussing philosophy and Time travel. In the morning, I had something I needed to do, though I just did not know what so I told my host the Duke that I was going to go for a walk about the bio dome. He told me to be careful, and not get injured too badly. I do not want to think about what would happen if I died... It would most likely create a Paradox.

Whilst rambling around the bio dome, I encountered a little girl with extremely pale skin. She made the snow appear dirty and off-color. In addition, her eyes, they were as blue as to make the sky jealous, and Neptune call himself orange. She was young. Much younger then I am now. Or was. She was lost, I could tell. Time has lost its meaning for me now, but I still remember her face. She was so delighted, clutching that teddy bear as if it was the only thing valuable to her in the world. Looking at her clothes, I would say, yes, it was the only thing valuable in the world to her. She had a very dirty and raggedy shirt on. It was in a worse state then my own when I first stepped out of the place out of Time. It once might have been blue, but now it was a dirty brownish grey shirt. It was so big on her, that it made a dress. The teddy is not in a better state, it is still preserved like that in the place out of Time. I look around, and shrug, and decide to follow her for today. She did not notice me. I watched her. She walked from place to place, always clutching the teddy. Sometimes she would stop at a garbage bin, and she would carefully lay the teddy down with its back against a wall, usually on a crate or box nearby. If she could not find one, she would go find one and drag it there, no matter how far away it was. She usually stopped in the cans to eat food. Sometimes fish out something shiny. A can, once. She also found a pair of shiny sneakers that were a bit too big for her, but she slipped them on over her feet anyways. She smiled and ran through the street clutching her teddy bear after that. I watched her do this for the rest of the week. She did not notice me yet. However, I knew she would, eventually. Murphy's Law again. She noticed me.

"Who are you mister?" she asked, her voice like the charms of an Aeolian bell.

I smiled, gently, and said, "I am Nobody."

My voice was like the horrible clanking and grinding of rusty gears compared to hers. Why was such a beautiful creature living such a life of squalor and sadness? Yet, I could see the hope and happiness sparkle in this girl's eyes.

"I like your teddy." I told her.

"I do too." She said, smiling like the great canyons of Mars. Mars is a beautiful place, in a sort of way. She did not call the guards on me because she thought I was a creep. She did not call the guards on me at all. She just continued as if I was who I said I was. Nobody, who likes her teddy.

We went our separate ways, and I walked behind a warehouse where I encountered some strange beings.

Their faces were stuck in a frozen smile. Their eyes painted gold, and the face was blue. I looked around. This was new. They have these weird smiles on their faces. They all had cloned faces too. They have blue spikes coming up. For some reason, I think it is a mask, similar to one that you would wear in Louisiana for Mardi gras, but I know it is not. Those are their real faces. They walk like robots. They smell like robots. Talk like robots. If it looks like a duck, smells like a duck, walks like a duck, then it's a duck. They also felt wrong. Like they didn't belong here. Most people ignored them. Why? I was curious about this. Why do they not see them? They stare at me. It is really starting to creep me out. Majorly. I need a weapon, but I do not. Now that I think about it. Time is my weapon. My mind is my weapon. I touch one, as an experiment. It breaks as if it has rusted for 50 years. That is good. That means I can do what I am about to do next. I punch one. He falls apart too. I am assuming they are all a him. They do not have the looks to be a she. I kick one. Ow. My foot throbs now, it apparently only works if my skin contacts them. No worries. I open a loop into the Magenta Place out of Time, and step through, swallowed up by its magenta-ness. The masked robots cannot follow me through. I look behind me. There is one now. That should not be possible, unless- They themselves are out of their Time. What the he---?

The other two have already put themselves back together. That is not good. How does one defeat an enemy that can put its self back together? Many thoughts race through my mind. It was a fight. I knew that much. They wanted a fight. I throw my raggedy lab coat off, revealing the plain blue tee shirt and black pants beneath it. It is time to kick some robot tail. I begin to throw punches at them, my hands flying rather quickly. I do not break their bodies into pieces. I break their inner workings into pieces, the gadgets and gizmos, the gears and whistles. In addition, most importantly, the circuits. I turn the quartz back into the sand that it was once. I turn the green silicon back into the oil it was once. I gunked them up. I kill their circuitry. They fall down, the start to my collection of strange things and wonderful things. I wondered who made them. They have a date stamped on their sides. It is from two years after the Time on the Biodome. What was that all about? Who had the power to send them back in time, such as me? Who would be mad enough to risk creating a Paradox by murdering me? If the robots had been sent from the past to kill me by somebody from the past that might make sense. Or would it cause another Paradox, since I have not traveled often enough yet to make many enemies. Or have I? It is so confusing to think about. I want to find that little angel again. She was beautiful, serene. I searched for her in the crowd; I did not find her that day. I knew I would see her again eventually.

I had retired to my quarters on Jupiter in my friend Charles’s house and I told him about the little angel. He nodded; he had seen her a few times around town as well. “She’ll grow up to make somebody a fine wife some day,” he told me. I nodded. Could this of been a spoiler? I doubted it; there was no feeling of fore sight to it, merely an educated guess. A good one too, I suppose. She is a beautiful little girl, untwisted and unaffected by her life among the trash. The moon has a beautiful sunset. Nothing to compare with the little girl, but still it was beautiful. I began sipping on my cup of Jicain tea, a rather bitter tea with a sweet after taste, regardless of what I added to it. The plant that this tea is extracted from has a rather curious property. Any drinks made from it cannot be poisoned, though the plant itself is poisonous to consume. I was thinking about my little angel as I had come to call her, wishing to find her again when the holoscreen behind me flickered on unexpectedly and loudly, causing me to fall from my chair. I looked behind me and saw a rather brutish man projected on the screen. He spoke English quiet well.

“I am Isfansi.” He said.

That is a Russian word, meaning immortal, what kind of man would call himself immortal? One full of the narcissistic tendencies, or perhaps… I looked at him closely, memorizing his face. Isfansi he… feels out of his Time, just as the Clowns did. Isfansi spoke again, his thick rich voice booming through the hidden stereos, “I seek the one known as Doctor Paradox. If you fail to bring this man to me in three days, I will unleash a deadly disease on all of you, exterminating the whole planet.”

There was the man who had created the robots; he looked incredibly stupid from a distance, like a Neanderthal. However, he was much smarter. How was this possible? He was out of his time… Perhaps he had found a crack in time and slipped through it? It would not have surprised me. I did not think of it at that moment though. I thought more of the little angel. She would die if I did not come forward. I was running out of time. I laughed at the ridiculousness of the situation. The poor girl would die if I came forward or she would die in a Paradox because I died before I could save Charles. The trouble with Time Travel I suppose. I looked at the screen and saw my face projected on it, but how the hell did that man get a hold of my photo? I do not even bloody know him now! I wondered what my angel thought about seeing Nobody’s face projected on the screen, the man who could kill her by his refusal to act?

I decided I would seek the little girl out, and spend my last two days making her as happy as I can. I will show her the wonders of Time. I will take her to Calyspo and hold up a mirror so that she can see how truly beautiful she is compared to one of the sunsets. I had a star map already, given to me by Charles who had told me that the Calyspian sunsets were one of the most wonderful things in the Universe to experience. I found my little angel clutching her teddy bear, digging through another can. She saw me and recognized me as both Nobody who liked her teddy and as Doctor Paradox, the man on the screen.

She opened her mouth into one of those big beautiful smiles and said, “Hello Nobody, would you like to come over to my place for tea?” She was young oh so young. Beautiful, I knew she would become even more beautiful as her age blossomed and someday she would attract some man and they would end up happily ever after. I had a plan after all, and that was to present myself at the beginning of the third day to Isfansi. She smiled innocently as if she did not comprehend what a disease was. I smiled and offered my hand to her, which she eagerly took.

“Nobody, why did that strange man call you Doctor Paradox?” the little one asked me.

“Because that’s my title, I guess. Dr. Nobody Paradox.” I replied smiling. She giggled. Nobody noticed me, though they should of.

Too busy I guessed at the time, of course I had hidden myself out of time with those around me, slipped from their Time stream only to rest in hers. It was not a trick I knew I knew it came to me instinctively. It would be handy in the future. She led me to a majestic looking castle of cardboard, and I could tell I had arrived at her home. It was barely big enough for me to fit in, but I managed. She smiled innocently at me, and took a pink teapot made of plastic, and poured me a cup of water. She sat down at her end of the “table” which was really a crate and said, “So Nobody, how many lumps of sugar?”
I smiled and said, “Two, please.” She passed over two cubes of ice, which I drank with my “tea” it was really water, of course, she had no way to brew tea.

I smiled and asked, “Who are you?”

“Somebody,” she replied, having drunk from her pink plastic cup.

“Is that your name?” I asked.

She nodded. “It’s the name I took after I ran away from my home.”
I tilted my head. Why had she run from her home? My question obviously was all over my face, for she soon said, “I didn’t like my Daddy. He was mean. He always yelled and hurt me. And at night…” She shivered at the memory. I felt a rage flowing in my head. This was caused by the thought that anybody had tried to hurt Somebody, and this just wasn’t right, she was such a beautiful creature, naïve to the world and it’s ways, untouched and untwisted by her life, everything she did seemed to have a magic of its own. That was the age of childhood for you, I guessed. She smiled among her beautiful, dirty home, and the smile seemed to belong there.

“Somebody, how would you like to see some magic?” I asked her.

She smiled and nodded eagerly. I pulled a coin from behind her ear. It was one of the many random quarters I found in my pocket when I had stepped out of Time and into Jupiter’s moon. She smiled and clapped, “Again! Again!” She cried. I smiled and repeated the trick for her. “What else can you do?” She asked after she grew tired with the trick. I smiled and opened up a loop into the Magenta Place. She oooohed and aaahed, it was a beautiful and wonderful new place to her. She stepped inside, holding my hand very tightly as I followed her. “Now watch this,” I told her, and I created a second loop from the Magenta Place to Calypso. I smiled as I watched the beautiful sunset in her blue eyes. She was in awe of the portrait in front of her. She hugged my waist tightly, and said, “Thank you nobody!” She had never been off world she explained, though her mother had many times. I smiled and hugged her back gingerly. She did not vanish like the robots. That was lucky. I spent the next two days making her days; I bought her better clothes and then had one of Charles’s daughters wash her. She resisted it at first from what I was told, but soon she was soothed by it. She fell asleep in my lap. She was the daughter I had never had.

“So Nobody,” said Charles to me, “Are you going to give yourself up Isfansi?”

I nodded, looking at the bundle of joy in my lap. She was beautiful even as she slept her rosebud of a mouth hanging slightly open like a rose not yet fully in bloom.

“I’m doing it for her.” I replied.

The duke shook his head, and he said nothing.

The third day dawned and I walked towards my doom in a warehouse. The thoughts of the little angel kept me going. I’m doing it for her became my mantra. I arrived in the warehouse that the man had specified. He stood there, with two Clowns behind him. He smiled at me. “I can’t kill you, it’s against the rules, you see. And when you break the rules, paradoxes happen, such as yourself.” He smiled viciously. “But I can hurt you. Behind me are two chambers, one contains Somebody, the other Charles. You cannot save them both. You have three minutes to decide before I release my deadly disease into them both and kill them.” He stepped from my view and vanished presumably to his lair in the Magenta Place. Before he left, he had the courtesy of revealing the two of my best friends in their separate chambers. I had a risky idea to save them both. It could be dangerous, and it could create a paradox. And paradoxes are bad. I thought very carefully through it. It took me two minutes to think for sure of it. I had to save them both. I would save my angel. My choice was tough, the duke had saved me many times in my future, and I felt like I was stabbing him in the back by not saving him. But… she was so beautiful, so full of life; I could not let that spark go out. I looked at him defeated. He knew that look in my eyes. He knew I had made my choice. I pressed a button and it released my angel. But then I will press a button and save the duke as well. I watched myself save the duke as I saved my angel, and I will watch myself save my angel. A paradox did not form. I was lucky that day. Or was it the fact that I knew that I could possibly save them both if I returned from the future a year later and save him that way? I do not know which. It does not matter. I had saved the little girl I considered the daughter I never had.

She grew very sick though. Had I dallied too long, had I miscalculated? No, it had been two minutes, and the duke was fine. Or had Isfansi in his insanity known to inject the girl with disease would kill me inside and hurt me more than having to choose between them? I do not know. She smiled weakly and she gave me her teddy, her beautiful blue eyes staring up lifelessly at the stars outside the duke’s manor, her body cooling slowly and her visage paling even more. I wept, and I still weep for her every time I hold the teddy bear. What had I done wrong to kill her, the young girl who was so full of life suddenly dead of Isfansi’s poison? What was the use of Time travel if I could not have saved her? Then I realized what the point was. I had given her three days of pure joy; I had been her father for three days. The father she always wanted. I preserved her teddy and gave it a spot where I would always see it if I was in that room. In addition, always I made sure there was a bouquet of Calypsian roses at its feet in honor of the young girl’s memory.

Well, where does he go next? Does Isfansi show up again? Perhaps he meets another, more...benign...time traveler, that we all know and love?

Every Time Traveler suggests that. I'm trying to avoid turning this into a fan fiction.

Not entirely it doesn't. If it did, blue boxes would be involved. I may end up changing Doctor Paradox by the end of writing the actual story out.

Chapter two's arc will involve a 'good' time travelling robot. We have established this.

It will also contain references to things people will never understand unless you've RP'ed with me before.

That was the story of the Teddy Bear, it was a wonderful time... I still miss my little angel. Hey! Be careful with that tome! It has an ancient curse on it! What? It doesn't look cursed to you? Why put it down and I'll tell you all about that curse. Lets see... Hmm... It was the first time I had discovered that the Magenta Place was not only a point out of Time but also a point out of the Universe. Hmm.... Lets see... how did it all start? Ah yes... It started, as all stories do, at the beginning. In '44, I was working for the army- what's that you say? You already know that? Well, you'll be learning more about that event and what caused it. So now hush, and let me continue on with the story!

Let us see... Ah yes, in '44, I was working for the army on various psychic warfare to get an edge on the Germans, when something went horribly wrong and I was cast out of the time stream.

What was this horrible thing that happened to me? A robot. A beautiful robot from the future. He, yes all robots are males unless they've got lady parts, then they're women, he was actually jumping the Universe. Leaving our world and entering another one, called "Mithryn". Along the way, he happened to stop by my point in time to find out what had caused the space-time distortion there, only to discover later on that he was the cause of it! We both didn't know about it at the time, of course.

Then there was this whole boring part where I go insane, and step out of Time for the second time and meet a beautiful young girl who gave me the teddy bear. Several Travels later, I'm in the Magenta Place, working on putting the Clowns together for their display when I notice a flash of emerald light streaking by the horizon. Now, this was odd, as there was no other color other than Magenta in this world, so that meant that something had just stepped into the Place out of Time. I decided I would follow it and discover what it was.

I stepped out of the Magenta Place to see a cylinder of black metal, a weapon of some form, pointed at my nose. It was fused to the arm of a rather tall, heavily-armored robot, made primarily of the same black metal and bearing glowing green eyes. "State your name and intent." The robot commanded.

"Er, Doctor Paradox," I replied, rather hesitantly. The last time I had fought killer robots I had destroyed them completely. This robot didn't look like them however, and where the hell were we? I took a moment to take in our surroundings.

It was a library of some sorts, with strange books that I could not really comprehend what they said. Their symbols were foreign to me. It was like I was reading Greek or something. I frowned, looking at this. How was I going to communicate in this world if their written language was completely different than what I was familiar with? I looked at the robot again, well at least he was something I knew and loved. "Er, and you are...?" I asked.

The robot paused for a moment, then lowering its gun which then shortly disassembled itself and reformed into a hand.

"I have heard much about you. I am Alpha-Gamma-2874926-A. Since most biologics prefer a shortened name, you may call me Alpha." The robot replied.

"What is your intent?" he repeated.

I was astounded by the library and then by the transformation of the Robot's arm. I looked at it and examined it, not a trace of the weapon was in sight. He was similar to a Transformer character from that cartoon series. You know the one I'm talking about right?

Anyways.... I looked at Alpha again and thought on it for a moment, half tempted to ask him about what he had heard before shaking my head and stating an answer to his question, "I don't know. I was following a streak of green from the Magenta Place and some how ended up here, in this library with you and these strange books."

I picked up several of the books and looked at them, unable to really comprehend what I was reading. I replaced them carefully in the order that I picked them up out of and turned back to Alpha.

"Do you know where we are?" I asked him.

"We are in the personal library of James Deval, a citizen of this time and lawyer. Unfortunately, my method of time-space translation is not as finely focused as yours seems to be. Identify: Magenta Place." The robot said in response to my question.

He really didn't answer my question, however, I guess it was only fair that he got to skip around like that, being a more wise time traveler, though... he didn't know the Magenta Place? How did he travel through time, though something as silly as gravity wells? Well, that wasn't a silly thought, actually, as gravity wells would become the future's way of traveling. "Magenta Place... it's this place that is all magenta and purple... There is no beginning and no end, it's a place out of Time, I guess." I looked at the books again. "What exactly are these books?" I asked, not able to understand them still.

"You exited a temporal portal when you arrived here. You also say you followed a 'streak of green' to this location. Given this evidence, I can conclude that the 'magenta place' is, somehow, a physical manifestation of the time stream." The robot replied nonchalantly, as if it were speaking to me about the weather. "Those books contain works focusing on the manipulation and control of 'magic'. Are you familiar with this dimension's 'magic'?"

"Magic isn't real," I replied, looking to the Robot, surprised that he could understand these books. "What language are they in?" I asked, looking at them. My curious side was sparked to life about the mentioning of the dimensions. "If they're on magic, than obviously they're not in English or any other language I would know, especially if this is in fact a whole other dimension like you seem to be implying."

I looked out the window and let out a sharp gasp, looking at the multitude of strange beings. It was like I had stepped off onto Jupiter's moon all over again. There were humans mingling with many strange beings that I did not recognize, like those green skinned aliens with the piggish faces, and those tall but strangely beautiful tan humanoids with the pointed ears. I was used to seeing some strange beings, but... this was astonishing.

The robot rushed forward and reached out to pull me away from the window. "Temporal contamination. They could see me as an automaton, but your garb would leave them questioning. The books are written in The Tongue of Legends, the language of magic. Yes, magic exists in this universe. Yes, this is a separate dimension from yours, and mine." The robot paused for a moment as something within it's metal shell beeped. "We are running out on time. You may be of great use to me. Follow." The robot commanded, taking a book from the shelf and opening the door out of the library. "There will be suitable garb for you in the wardrobe. Dress quickly."

"I uh, what?" I replied, but then recalled the strange garb I had seen on the others and nodded, understanding the need to blend in. I looked to the robot, "What I should I do with my clothes?" I asked, putting on the others quickly, and then asked, "What are we running out of time for? Are you a white rabbit and have I fallen into a rabbit hole?" I was soutterly confused at this point in Time.

"Leave them here. James Deval will not notice them, he is likely away on a quest. "I am here because you and I are not the only foreigners to this time in the vicinity. However, we are the only ones of benign intent. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland reference has been noted." He replied. It opened the door to the city streets once I had dressed myself and motioned for me to follow it.

"Who else is here? Isfansi?" I asked, though I really doubted it, considering I didn't even know about this place until the Robot had brought me here. I followed him outside the door, keeping an eye on things, and hoping I wouldn't be asked to speak too much, as I doubted I would be able to understand what they were saying to me.

"Isfansi is a small-scale crook, just barely within our notice. Thankfully, he was dealt with. It would have been little more than an inconvenience to handle ourselves. The individual we are looking for is, by far, more dangerous and more ambitious than Isfansi." The robot replied. It reached within a compartment on it's wrist and retrieved a small earpiece.

"You will find this useful. It is a techno-empathic universal communicator. It will let you understand any and all forms of language directed to you."

"What? Isfansi is dealt with? Wait, no, no spoilers. First rule of time travel." I looked at the earpiece, I recognized the device as something similar to what you probably would call an ear wig, the Duke Wellington IV had one of those. I put it into my ear and listened to the conversations around me, understanding finally what was being said. It was rather dull compared to the mysterious language it had once been. "Alright, so what are you doing here anyways Alpha?" I asked him, looking around at this strange place.

"I would not have told you, regardless. I am here to make sure that something never happens. An individual from this universe's far future is going to kill a different individual from the near future using means that will be enacted in the immediate future. This second individual is integral to this universe's timeline." the robot replied.

"... That does not tell me who or what you are doing here," I told him, giving him the strangest look.

The robot appeared to have sighed. Well, it was not really a sigh as robots do not have the lungs to sigh, but it sounded like it could have been a robot version of a sigh. "I am part of an organization of transdimensional 'time cops'. We hunt down criminals who use time travel, or those who want to alter the time stream. Such a crime is occurring shortly. Does this register in the low-RAM processor you biologics like to call a brain?" the robot said a bit bluntly to me.

"Yes.... it does..." I shook my head and looked at him, "Alright, so who is the bad guy you're arresting then?" I asked.

"His name is Siggorath. He is a Shade; A sorcerer who has been consumed by abuse and overuse of Dark Magic. He is extremely dangerous." the robot replied. A large building came into view as we turned a corner.

"Not in the conventional sense, although some enjoy taking an avatar to socialize with the residents of this world." the robot noted, then gestured to the building. "That is the Library of Ve'ora, and it is the largest library in the world. It will be visited by Siggorath shortly, and it is there that Siggorath will lay his trap."

"So is this like a stake-out?" I recall asking him.

"If we are not too late, yes." The robot replied. A flash of purplish light from within the structure proved otherwise, and the robot broke into a sprint. "We are indeed too late. Hurry!"

I nodded and found a crack in the time stream of this world and grabbed the Robot's hand and slipped through it to the just outside the library.

I haven't read it yet, but when I first saw the title, I thought you put Doctor Who. Even though I don't watch the show.

Ironically enough, Doctor Who and the character "Paradox" from Ben 10 inspired the name. I'm likely to change it in the future, it's really a working title.
