That day... I remember it like a long-ago, distant memory... Like it's been years and years since it happened. But that's wrong, because it wasn't too long ago--in fact, it was only a few days ago. It was a normal day. I went to school, hung out with my friends, went home, did homework; it was so normal. I fell asleep in my bed comfortably, as I did every night, but this night was different than most. I woke up quite late (or perhaps early; I am not sure) to many noises and a lot of rustling. I thought it may have been my cat, toying around with a plastic bag or something, so I went back to sleep. I know some of the others were not so lucky as to simply fall back asleep; I am sure they saw whatever THING took them. I can't even imagine how terrible something as traumatic as that must have been... When I woke up, I was in the smallest room you could think of. The floor, ceiling, the walls--they were all cement. The room was so small, I couldn't even stand--couldn't even sit upright--because there was only room to crouch, awkwardly curled up and horribly uncomfortable. It felt like I was going to die here. I was sealed away in this tiny little cement tomb. This was where I was going to die, and no one would ever know I was here because I was kidnapped by some sicko who wanted to let me suffocate in this tiny room. Eventually, I ran out of air to breathe; I passed out. When I woke up, it was no longer the tiniest of cement rooms--I was at the dead end of a long, foreboding tunnel. It was very long and dark; I could see two feets in front of me. Having quitethe struggle with it, I eventually shifted my position so I could crawl through the tunnels. I crawled and crawled for what seemed like forever until I felt a pang of pain and discomfort in my stomach. I was hungry. I couldn't go back--I really couldn't. Besides, what would be waiting back there for me if I could? The same uncomfortable dead end? The same looming thought of "I'm going to die right here"? So, I heaved a sigh and continued on my slow going, uncomfortable, hunger-pain-plagued journal through the all-too-dark tunnel. Eventually, I saw light. No, not the kind of light at the end of a long tunnel people claim to see after a near-death experience. It was a regular light. A comfortable light. A familiar light. I crawled as fast as I could, finally making it to the end of the long tunnel. I was surprised to be greeted by a full-sized room, filled with people laughing and eating together joyously. It looked like this room was a kind of cafeteria or dining hall. I stood, my back thanking me ever so much as I took a moment to stretch. No one really noticed me or payed attention to me. It was like people crawled out of tunnels into this room all the time. Speaking of which... Looking around the room now, I see lots of tunnels--some low to the ground, like mine; others high up in the wall, reached by what looked like something between a ladder and a staircase. My stomach made another painful noise, insisting upon its hunger. I walked over to what seemed to be the "lunch line," waiting patiently to recieve food as the people near the front of the line seemed to be getting. It was such a relief when I finally stepped to the front of the line and was given a plate of delicious-looking food. I walked over to a small table with only a few other people talking animatedly. I sat down in an empty chair. the people didn't frown at me or tell me to go away--they smiled, greeted me kindly. I smiled back, giving a short wave before digging into my food. The people didn't seem offended or surprised; they just went back to their animated conversation--something about animals and toy and the like. Just idle chit chat. Realizing I didn't see any lights turned on, I looked around, searching for a light source before finally looking up at seeing a large window in the ceiling, letting in lots of beautiful sunlight. It was so refreshing! I smiled widely, so happy to see the sun, however blindly it was, even through my glasses. I found my gaze once more returning to the tunnels and realized--people were going into and emerging from tunnels all over like it was an everyday occurance. speaking of the people, all of them wore completely spotless white clothes--it didn't matter the gender of the person; darn near everyone was wearing white pants, and white shirt, and white shoes. I looked down at my own clothes, seeing I was still in the pajamas I was wearing the last night I was in my own home. I frowned, suddenly feeling very self-conscious, until I saw several other people just emerging from other tunnels. They, too, were missing the all-white garb of the others here. They must have just woken up, as I had--some wore pajamas, others old nightshirts, some in their undergarments--some unclothed altogether! It seemed everyone was abducted during their sleep. After finishing eating, I got up, leaving behind my plate and leftovers as I had noted everyone else doing. I looked around absent-mindly as I walked, noting all the people here, the strange familiarity yet unfamiliarity of it all, all at the same time; that is, until I walked right into someone. He was taller than I; probably older, too. He grinned at me, greeting me and telling me he knew who I was and that I was new here. He led my kindly to another tunnel, crouching down and crawling through and, taking the hint, I followed suit. He led me through several maze-like tunnels; he seemed to know exactly where he was. Finally, we stopped in a bedroom. He told me it was now mine and gave me a set of the all-white clothes everyone else was wearing. He told me to change and that I could explore when I was done, and then excused himself politely. I changed, and left the tunnel. I was surprised to find that I knew these tunnels like the abck of my hand. I navigated my way through the tunnels, stopping in various rooms along the way to change tunnels (several people in each room I passed greeted me as though we were the best of friends) until I stopped in some sort of common room. There were several chairs, and several shelves lined with hundreds of varying books and boardgames. Most of the people in this room were around my ag.e or younger. This was fine by me; I just wanted to sit down and read. I sighed, sitting myself down in a chair and wondering, over and over, about this place. I didn't know a thing about it, but I knew exactly how to get around. I didn't know anyone here, but they seemed to know me. I didn't want to be here, but it felt like... home.

Name: Nadiya Ag.e: 22 Gender: F Appearance: Nadiya's long hair is straight and blonde. Her eyes are a dull brownish colour. Her skin is far and she herself is rather small--y'know, kinda shorter than she should be. But, that doesn't really bother her unless someone comments on it. Upon her head is a precariously slanted pale yellow tophat wrapped with a red ribbon to make an X on the front before the end being tied into a net bow, resting on the front of the rim. She has several jagged scars on her shoulders, elbows, wrists, and all on the joints of each of her fingers; as well as some more jagged scarring at her knees and ankles. Her scars from her elbows to her fingers are exposed by her new white T-shirt, however, the scars on her legs are covered by her ankle-length pants. (Ok.) Yuki
I dust the dirt off my pajamas and stare at the tunnel I came out from. I shake my head, some dirt falling from my silkly hair, I walk towards a man silently. "Hello, can you please tell me where I am right now?" I ask him politely with some hair falling between my eyes. I put my hands behind my back, waiting for an answer from this man. |

George I finally got to the mysterious light source. I got into the lunch line without thought, although I belonged here.
Jonesy I spotted a newbie and scoffed. Someone to torture. |

| The man smiles at the newcomer and nods. "Why, yes, I can absolutely tell you where you are! You're in the Tunnels1 I hope you'll be comfortable here--would you like to see your new room?" he half-turns, gesturing towards a nearby tunnel. |

| Jessi blinks slowly, seeing the usual people arrive, it was rather strange nobody ever asked where they came from, it was just, maybe a painful topic. Having been here a few years, she quickly advanced to the front of the line, grabbed some food, and then sat down at a mostly empty table. She wasn't one to go looking for people to talk to. |

As I shyly stand in a corner away from large crowds, I attempt to socialize with another person that is all alone.

Jonesy I walked up to the teenage reb.el in line and asked, "Do you want to see a magic trick?" George I looked at the woman quizzically, and stepped out of line. "Sure, I guess." Jonesy I grinned, my prank was working. "I'm going to tell you your life story. You were bo.rn and rais.ed in Boston, were the stupidest kid in elementary and middle school, were a high school drop-out, and became a crim.inal. You moved to London, joined a ga.ng and once more was a crim.inal. Only you didn't mind this time. You stayed on the run for a while before getting preg.nant with a fellow ga.ng member's kid at only 14. You had the kid and abandoned it, and the after you ended up here. Shocked, yes?" George Tears streamed down my face and I screamed , having a break-down, "How did you do that??" Jonesy "Magic." I snickered and walked away. George I collapsed, horrified. Did I really do those things? Yes. I did. I sobbed into my hands, ashamed of my mistakes Jonesy "Hey Nadiya! You owe me a lunch." |
