Alrighty, after watching SOME of the Oregon vs Fresno State game, this is what I would conclude for an Alabama vs Oregon game.
First off, Oregon's defense isn't THAT bad. But I noticed a lot of holes where the quarterback could've ran. If Alabama were to play Oregon, than I would think that McCarron would see this, and run these holes. Not for a huge gain, but enough to gain a first down. I also noticed how Oregon likes to gang up on their opponents on defense, but I think that Alabama could probably use this against them to run for big plays. I noticed also, that their defense... Well, they werent very strong. But they were pretty good at covering recievers and blocking some obvious run plays, though I feel that Eddy Lacy would probably be able to break some tackles, and that TJ Yeldon would be able to get past this defense.
Another thing with Oregon's defense... They were really in the faces of the offense. I think this might really piss off the players for Alabama to make this a very pumped-up game. But I dont think that the Oregon players will have much to gloat about when Alabama's O-line stops them. No, Eddy Lacy may not make lots of big plays, but he should be able to get pretty decent gains on his rushes. TJ Yeldon on the other hand, given the right oppurtunity, will not fail to dissappoint. I think TJ can make some outstanding plays should Alabama play Oregon in the national championship.
But there is no doubting on Oregon's offense... Or is there? I think Oregon has a very talented offense with some very smart plays, but Nick Saban and the Alabama defense can usually see straight through these plays. I dont doubt that Oregon would get some TDs, but no where near their regular 42 points p/ game. These Oregon players are built for pure speed, not made to be very strong. And if Alabama can put the big hits on the field... Then they might just lose some of that speed. Im not talking about intentionally injuring players, but the big hits would probably demoralize this Oregon offense and keep them tired. And with Alabama's defense ravaging at the Oregon O-line, I really think that the pressure might just keep Oregon from making these big plays.
Oregon is more of a lop-sided team. They have lots of speed on Offense, but their players arent very big and strong. Alabama has fairly good speed and their players ARE strong. If Oregon wants to win, then they'd have to learn to use their speed and make lots of quick passes for completions, with consistant drives, and use their oppurtunities wisely, LSU is a prime example of this.
Also, their coach would have to play it safe rather than make gambles on offense. Alabama usually knows the trick plays when they see them.
Alabama is a more even team. The defense is very very good, and the offense I feel would be able to make the big passes for completions for a good drive to score plenty of points. Not trying to imply that Oregon's offense wouldn't be able to do the same on offense though.
TL;DR
Alabama would make some good stops on the Oregon offense and make plenty of excellent plays on the Oregon defense. It would be a fairly high scoring game, but Alabama I think would win by a small margin in a shootout, in a pretty high scoring game. |

It'd be more of a low scoring game imo.

@Ghf
Not with Oregon's mega offense and poorly suited defense. |

| Oregon's defense isn't that bad. They are the ones that force good plays and give Oregons offense a lot of momentum. I do think Alabama would win, but I don't see it being a shootout. |

| Very nice. In all honesty Alabama is too big for Oregon. It was just like with auburn. They had too many big players to be able to get a lot going. |

| Oregon wouldn't be able to handle the power and speed from Alabama's RBs and the defense would proably hold oregon to 21 which is good. c: |

| I believe Stanford is the most similar team to Alabama, and if the game ever happened the game would be like Oregon vs Stanford. |

| Yes, but quite frankly, I still believe Alabama has a better offense than Stanford. |

Clearly. Hogan is a freshman quarterback. A LOT better than Nunes though. <,<
The running game debate should be good. |
