Smartphone are useless.
All you need is a flip phone that calls and texts.
Not some fancy-smanshy phone that doesn't even call.

oh hey some people are buying something just to be cool let's assume that every smartphone owner bought theirs for the same reason |

I like apple. I have an ipod touch and my dad has an iphone and ipad.
Except it's really expensive.
If I could afford it, I would get a mac computer, but I can't afford one. So I got an PC (hp pavilion) instead.
I'm considering getting an ipad mini for christmas or an iphone.

@liliam
I wouldnt recommend the Ipad mini.
It is SLOW loading videos, and the resolution isnt good (even though it claims to have the same resolution as the regular ipad)
It also uses older technology in it.
I would stick with the iphone, its a very, very, fast little phone. |

@skalderr
Okay, thanks.
I've been having a tough time deciding between an Ipad and iphone
I've been wanting to work with iMovie, which is why I want an ipad.
So should I get an ipad 2 or iphone 4s or 5?

The thing about Android phones are that they are hit or miss, some of them turn faulty and don't work efficiently/
With iPhones, they're more reliable and less likely to have software or hardware problems.

I'm tempted to get the iPhone 5 for christmas. My dad has the iPhone 5 and he loves it

@liliam
If you want to work with iMovie, then I would get the ipad 2.
But remember that the software on it will go outdated quicker than the iphone 5.

See, I'm still not sure.
My phone is terrible and I really want a new one.
I know I sound spoiled when I say this, but my grandma gets my cousisn/sisters/me anything that we want that's $200 or under. so I could get the iphone 5 from her, then from my parents (or "santa") they could pay for the activation fee, and I could get some gear for it.
But I've wanted to work with iMovie, but my dad said that he might get a mac soon because we have a dell desktop that's extremely slow

So if my dad does end up getting a mac I would just edit using imovie on the desktop.
Maybe I'll get the iphone 5

Then I'll probably get that for christmas.
If it's okay with my dad, of course.

@dc
Normally I would recommend the 4S, but since liliam can get 5 as well, 5 is a better choice.
Not just to be hip with the trends, but getting a newer phone is usefull, considering that it is going to stay compatible with more types of software updates that apple issues in the future. |

| I personally prefer both platforms. I mean, IOS has some pretty awful battery life and is waaayy more expensive than it should be, and android has some of the worst marketplace moderation ever and some rather inconsistent hardware (Good luck trying to run angry birds on some phones. :V) |
