A snipe would be 1750% (50% of the lowest price) Because it is profitable on the 25% spent into it.
A snag would give you the same exact value you spent on it by selling for the lowest price. There can be exceptions where you make some bucks, nothing else.
All you did was to give a lower price. No snipe. |

I've been around before LMaD was created. I started investing a few weeks after it's release. The term snipe was coined to make profitable items easily detectable.

Snipes usually don't earn the seller any profit. They use 50% off because it's a reasonable sellback price for the seller and a reasonable profit for the buyer.

Say it is a good deal, not that it is a snipe. Saying it is a snipe is wrong, because it is not 50% or less.

You've got the definition wrong. There really is no set percentages for snipes...a snipe basically is a good deal in a nutshell as it is.

From the last time I used to hang out here, it was well defined that a snipe was a half off deal. People would often ignore this, so I'm not surprised that now everybody thinks a snipe is any good deal, profitable or not.

If it was ignored so easily it must have been your personal opinion on a snipe. Basically your opinion is biased and your only proof is "When I used to hang here..."

It was not a personal opinion, it was a collective definition. Anybody would tell you a snipe was 50% off if they were active in the forum long enough to determine this by themselves. I suposse that too many new players, unaware of this, simply thought snipe was a good deal, so they ignored the old definition and coined their own. Afterall, popular definitions like these change often, thanks to new ways of belief, like it has happened now (I suposse).

If it isn't a personal opinion, show me the survey and information that made this factual. I don't remember anyone making a definition for a snipe that didn't differ from another's. 50% or lower is your personal definition.

I never said it was factual. I said it was popular belief, an user definition accepted in the forum, and as such, it can change over time (which I hoped it didn't)
