*Inspired by Assassin's Creed
BASIC IDEA: Well, have you guys ever played obbies? The basic point is to get from this spawn, across the obstacle to that spawn over there. Now, a couple of things I don't like about this, which is my inspiration for this.
1. Flying body parts - Yes, disgusting but also - your head can hit the spawn. A cheap way to get past a hard level.
2. Lava - Seriously? Lava..... who is going to jump over lava in a compacted form? T_T
3. Stopping - You can just stop at a hard jump and keep going. I mean, where's the rush in that?
Before I start, a few disclaimers.
(All specific entities, names, descriptions are either my own work or partial credit from Assassin's Creed [I, II, Revelations, Brotherhood, III])
GAME IDEA: If you have ever played Assassin's Creed, the name of the game should tip you off. If you haven't, let me fill you in.
Assassin's Creed is a game which features parkour style movement. You can grab onto ledges, jump on poles or rooftops to get where you need to. They depict this as "freerunning", and basically speed is of the essence. You aren't going to make a jump across two rooftops if you stop and jump, but if you run you might.
What I wan't to do is eliminate those flying body parts with ragdoll physics, stop the stopping and starting walking by adding speed differences, remove those impossible situations of lava jumps and replace them with realistic environments and add a competitive edge by multiplayer races.
How will this be controlled exactly?
There will be a minimum of 4 buttons.
One activates "Fast Walk" when held, which practically is just walking, but fast. Most likely will be Right Shift.
The second activates "Run" when held, which is a normal run but still won't make those crate jumps or rooftop leaps. No button is thought of yet, but most likely Left Shift.
The third is the best yet. It actually is a combination of the buttons used for Fast Walk and Run. It will happen when the "Run" button (LShift) is held, and the "Fast Walk" button is held and a person moves forward, of course, they will began the "Freerunning" stage.
To create a difference in running, the walkspeed of a player will be lowered to something realistic, with Fast Walk hightening it only a bit and Running a good amount and Freerunning a lot.
With this, another button will be added. The "Grab" button, for grabbing onto ledges if you fall or need to shimmy across an obstacle.
This idea is my prelude to an idea for Assassin's Creed in ROBLOX. I simply need to figure out how to add this into that upcoming game, or it will be nothing. This will be that way.
I appreciate your time, and here is my conclusion.
CONCLUSION:
Game will be developed by Zeptic Studios. Help would be appreciated, and if you don't feel like joining ZS to help, hit me up with a PM and we can work something out.
All I will do here is very buggy. It's going to require some new methods I can't even think how to make them work, and some very advanced effects. If you EVER see a bug, report it to me. I may have a list of thousands, but a game is no game if it has bugs.
Thank you for your time, and please - comment below so I can improve this in any way I can.

Erm, what I meant by compacted lava was that it's really weird for lava to be in an obby. Instead, natural obstacles is what I'm focusing on.

should be a bit of a rail moving thing, if you know what I mean. always moving, on a set path, so the focus is timing and speed.

It will feature a couple of game modes and maps.
Freerun:
Pretty explanatory. There is 3 minutes to just run around and do whatever you wish in the map chosen. There will be a variety of maps, just like any other game.
Race:
Explanatory. You start at Point A and you need to get to Point B. There will be many possible paths, but it your choice to go any way you wish in an open world but somehow you need to get to the end.
Speed:
Basically there is a preset path where you focus on speed, timing and precision to get a record time, and others compete. After 3 rounds, the winner with the top record wins.
Combo:
Race, but with a cache. You are allowed to use the world as you want, but you lose points if you fall or stumble and you need a certain amount of points to win. You also get points by freerun combos, basically hitting specially made parkour items in a row with perfection.
I need more ideas, feel free to give them.

This would be somewhat limited if you don't implement from scripting in. As in scripting some sort of climbing system as well as stop watchs/timers etc.
Make sure that if this is story based (which it seems to be) don't add irrelevant items to the game like lava, otherwise players will be confused.
Make sure the story has some sort of 'purpose' for why people are freerunning. |

Actually, it's not really a storybased game.
It's like a tournament game for practicing my new system for freerunning..
IF this works *IF*..... I'll be making an Assassin's Creed game out of it. That's my plan, because I don't want to implement hacky methods into a good game.

Ok then, sounds alright. Maybe add some sabetour like scenario, where players could knock down something and block a path off. (This blocked path would be climbed over, though it can be timely) |

Will there be different keys to press for different actions when running, (For example, 'G' might make you run up the wall and then jump off of it, while "K" would run up the wall and grab a ledge up on top) or will the game assess what direction you moving in and change what actions are done accordingly?

| Would if, you have a GUI button that takes you to a lobby for a gamemode and an open world. That would be incredible. Like, a big map like AC and gamemodes. |

The game will structure everything to the case you are in. If you do a wall run, but you can't grab on to anything, it just jumps off. If there is a ledge, it'll grab onto it which brings me to another feature.
WallJump: When holding onto a ledge or window or anything, press L and then the ledge grab button to make wall jumps, that can get you where you need if there's nothing else to hold onto in the middle.
