if there is an Active GUI there, and you tap there, it brings up the movement joystick instead. if we tap on an Active GUI in that corner, it should use the GUI instead of the joystick. espically for GUI-only games.

GUI only games are not something that we ever officially supported. I can eventually see some game configs that allows you to disable Core UI's but currently this is not in the works. Sooo, yeah, no.

And you won't put a GUI there if you wanted your game to be iPad friendly and is character based. So it goes back to my point that GUI only games were never officially supported.

There'd be no point for ROBLOX in trying to support GUI games. There are hundreds of better systems for making GUI games. What ROBLOX is good at is 3D games. |

Sure, that isn't what Roblox is good at. But what if it was? Think not of a better system, but what people could do if Roblox was that better system. It isn't even limited to 2d, nor is the "that" I refer to limited to GUIs. To be competitive in this kind of market, you have to let your users be innovative, not your staff.

| The button in the bottom-left corner that brings up that option menu looks really small relative to one's fingers, and so do the tool buttons. If you're gonna make it bigger, it looks like you'll have to put it somewhere else. |

it's not only for GUI only games, it's for any game that has a GUI right in the joystick area, such as death run.

who needs a 33% area to control their character movement...?
Especially considering that on the computer you generally just need to use "w" and control direction using the camera, occasionally dodging some trash can with a or d or something.
they should just add a tineh control to go to one of the main directions, and let the user adjust the direction by changing where he looks.
33% sounds a lot... even for a phone... |

Maybe it starts out small, but you can scale it with the normal gestures you use to zoom in/out?

@sorcus, I don't want to sound pushy, but you should at least do something about this. Maybe you could have an option to turn off the joystick for the game if it is UI-based, or has UIs in the bottom left. I have a few in the bottom left, and if my game would become ipad friendly, i would have to move so many UIs around to make it fit.
I think this is a little unfair if games already have crowded screens with UIs. Now you are forcing them to make it a little more crowded. If it gets too crowded, less people will play the game on ipad, so there will be less ipad traffic than expected. |
