-This is a discussion thread, so it may contain spoilers.-
I was not a fan at all of this movie. It did not scare me in the slightest, it did not make me feel any unease, and the highlight of the movie was probably the secondary ending where she slits her own throat.
I wasn't a big fan of the found footage filming, but I can see why they needed to do that. I own the second and third movies, so we will see if they get any better.
Your thoughts and opinions on this film? it seemed realistic enough, if there were supernatural demons and such..the reactions of the people seemed like they might be realistic. But who really knows.

I recall the first film scaring the crap out of me the first time I watched it (I was new to horror.) but watching it the second time I was laughing, with my friend. I do consider the film to be more of a film that you watch on your own, with the lights off.
I do not hate it, at all though. I love the concept of demonic entities (I'm plagued, with one myself.) so I can to some extent relate, to the characters, and the acting is not bad, for this type of film. I think Katie Fatherston is a beautiful actress, who has a lot of potential.
As for the second film in the series; it had an weak cast of characters, but all the same, I really enjoyed it, as a sequel, and it shed some light on the strange happenings in the first film.
The third is mediocre, and they tried to hard to make it scary, as, with the first two, it had a pretty chill environment.
And the fourth? I thought it was terrible. |

"but watching it the second time I was laughing,"
Yeah, I lost it when the ouija board caught on fire.
"film that you watch on your own, with the lights off'
Definitely. When you're ten. Then it might freak you out.
"I'm plagued, with one myself."
This is interesting. Considering I don't believe in the stuff, do tell. Maybe your experiences will change my mind.
"I think Katie Fatherston is a beautiful actress, who has a lot of potential."
I agree. I think she would do well in Supernatural..perhaps as a past girlfriend of Sam? haha. I haven't been able to keep up on that series unfortunately, but that discussion is for a different thread.

I was around ten when I first saw the movie, so yeah, I agree, with the whole "only children will find it scary."
My experiences are quite cliché, to tell you the truth, you have probably heard it all before, as in things are being misplaced, strange noises at night, the constant feeling that you're being watched while on your lonesome, but I can feel a very evil presence, with the notion that something wants to harm me. I'm quite skeptical when it comes, to this stuff, but I have a feeling there is something in my house.
Past girlfriend of Sam? Impossible! That would imply she is alive! Or they could feature her, as a ghost of some sorts that appears to Sam, in the same way that Lucifer appeared throughout Season Seven.
And as for Season Eight; it has been very disappointing, as much as I love the character of Dean, he has been so hypocritical, lately. It's not even funny. I keep feeling that the writers want us to hate Dean. |

Awh yeah that doesn't help. Man, I just want something to believe in.
And we all know how good Sam is at attracting demons, so she could be a potential girlfriend. That would be freakin' awesome.
whaaaaaaat. You mean.."PUDDING!" Dean? That kinda hurts. Now I' not even disappointed about missing it.
How did they explain pugatory?

I apologize, for the disappointment. D:
Well, as long as you don't mind the spoilers: - - - - - God created a portal within Purgatory, for humans, to escape, if they were ever to be trapped there, a vampire: Benny, comes to Dean's aid, and guides him to the portal, and this is how he escapes. Back on Earth, Dean, resurrects Benny, and the two become great friends, from that point on. (I find this to be extremely hypocritical, as when Dean killed Amy, his justification, for the deed was that she was a monster. So, what the hell is, Benny, then? At least Amy had good intentions.)
And Castiel escapes, with the help of a mysterious group of Angels, who I presume are now ruling Heaven. |

Well
PA Imo failed at everything
After I heard so many people talk about how terrifying it is
I just sat there blankly wondering what was going on.
I wasn't mad or disappointed or scared. Just impressionless
Then I laughed nonstop during the second.
Might watch 3 tonight. Saw it on netflix. |

That's dumb. Did they at least have a few episodes in purgatory? Because that sounds like a lousy start.
"I just sat there blankly wondering what was going on"

What.
What.
So I guess its Season 8 where all good shows go bad. Same thing happened with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. They lost me on the eighth season.

Well, I wouldn't say it's bad. This is Supernatural.
It has a lot of potential especially, with the new group of (arch?)angels, and the word of God which could potentially shut the gates of Hell.
I think it had a very weak opener, and because of that it has left a sour taste in my mouth. I think you will enjoy it.
I apologize for hijacking this thread. |

Don't apologize i miss talking to you. Why are you still up anyways?
I will still have to pick it up. I've done pretty bad with the series so far, only knowing enough to get me through the story line, but I'm begging my father for netflix so I can catch up on my favorite series and such. I'm pretty sure netflix has Supernatural.
My friend records all the episodes, so all I need to do is get over there. we have been trying to plan something.

Likewise.
I've got the flu and I slept all the day so I'm finding it rather hard to doze off, unfortunately, and with The Walking Dead: The Game, coming out tomorrow I promised my sister I would be up, when it releases, so I'm trying to get back into a sleep routine. Wish me luck. D:
Netflix definitely has Supernatural so that's the best way to catch up, with it I suppose. Are you on Season Seven? If so what are your thoughts on the character Garth? He was amazing, in my opinion. |
