(Dedicated to Pearl Jr. who passed away 5:01 PM on 11/19/12)
(WARNING; Reading this story may be disturbing horror. Reader be warned. You may now proceed reading.)
(P.S. tl;dr morons are not welcomed to be here. May I ask you that this may a short story, but with many words. Thank you. To those who are not tl;dr idiots may proceed reading.)
In the town of Blackskull, Northern Ireland, a poor boy with his family live in the alleys, desperately begging for money to survive. The boy's family sleeps in wooden crates, searches for food in garbage and fishes for them, and drinks water at the docks. His life was miserable. So miserable that he cannot live it anymore.
"Why must I not live rich and cared for?" Asked the boy in curiosity. "Why can't I be clean like everybody else? Its unfair. I don't deserve this kind of misery! I don't deserve this kind of suffering! I WANT A NICE, NORMAL LIFESTYLE!" Demanded the boy.
After showing how angry he was, he decided to toss pebbles at the docks, trying to give himself some entertainment. Mumbling how miserable his life is, begging for death, begging for reincarnation, begging for a better life. He leaves without entertainment, still stuck in his agony.
Then, when he was about to return back to the alleys, he saw a rat. Sure he has seen rats before. He's seen Norway Rats and Black Rats, but he hasn't seen any kind of rat like this. It had white fur with a black spot on its forehead. He thinks its a rat sent from the heavens. He sticks out his hand to see how aggressive it is, but it does not react viciously. Instead, it made a small squeak. He begins petting it. Maybe he can keep it as a pet. But there are lots of responsibilities in owning one. He hesitates thinking about the responsibilities, and takes it anyways.
"EEK!" Screams out his mother. "GET THAT RABID THING OUT OF THERE!" "But mother," Says the young boy. "Its a rat! An unnatural one! Its a rat sent from the heavens! You got to believe me!" "You little fool. You are such a little fool. Get that rabid creature out of there, or else." Demands his mother. "Urg.... fine. You win, mother. I guess I better just give it up." Says the boy.
He was about to let it go into the forest until a little idea came to his head. 'Maybe I can hide it.' And so, he refuses to give it in to the wild, and returns home. He hides it behind a 4x4 cardboard box, covering it with paper. Each day, he give it a piece of food. Strangely, he receives a coin a day.
"Can be this some kind of miracle? Can it be a gift from the almighty gods up above? Oh they have mercy on us! Praise them!" Says the boy, happily.
It was a few months since he has hid the rat. The young boy has gotten bad news from his mother.
"I'm afraid we have no food left. All that's left are shards of glass, rotten food and loose sheets of paper."
The boy felt lack of hope, until he looked at the rat. Feeling a deep depression inside his heart, he approaches the rat.
"Sweet, sweet rat, sent from the heavens, I desperately beg you to take me. Free my soul from this miserable life, and make me experience happiness up above. Make my mother happy. Make my father happy. Make my entire family experience the pursuit of happiness. Please, I demand sacrifice!" Says the young boy bravely.
Then, he sticks out his hands towards the rats nose.
"Feed on me. Make every bite worth it."
The rat bites. The boy looks to see blood dripping down his pointer finger.
"KEEP GOING!"
The rat bites again. The boy looks to see blood dripping down his index finger.
"MAKE ME EXPERIENCE PAIN TO FREE MY SOUL!"
The rat bites again, and again, and again. The boy screams in agony. Bite after bite, the boy enjoys the pain. He looks to see every muscle, every skin tissue gone.
A few days later, the rat is nowhere to be found. Guards found the boy laying in the woods with flies, and bugs crawling on his rotting flesh.
The boys family was happy after receiving the money required for survival. They now have a home, a job, and an education, as the boys soul was finally out of misery. |

| Well... if you say stuff about scarier stuff like Seseme Street, then why don't you go watch a few episodes rather than reading my stuff? Glad we work through business. |

This was really bad. The scariest part was when we were warned it was going to be scary. |

Thank you for your generosity. I really appreciate that.
What do you think of my rats departure? Sounds terrible, isn't it? |
