I don't know what sort of stupid joke this is, but, apparently, now, Twitter and YouTube links are allowed.
I'm serious. Look at the community guidelines: http://www.roblox.com/Help/Builderman.aspx?id=221897
It clearly says that links to youtube.com, youtu.be, twitter.com and t.co are allowed.
And t.co is an URL shortener, btw. This means that you can use it to link to any single URL on the internet. And it's apparently internet.
Here's a link to my website, btw: https://t.co/lCiwwynu
Hey, what's wrong with that? It's a link to t.co, and the community guidelines say these links are allowed!
I've also seen a mod post about it on ROBLOX Talk saying that it's allowed (though he only talked about YouTube links). |

| Sounds pretty damn insane. Hope the mods take back that policy on this URL shortener. Even youtube and twitter links should rethought, there would be plenty of inappropriate videos on youtube and tweets on twitter. |

I'd perfectly understand if they allowed links to Wikipedia. I mean, Wikipedia can have inappropriate pages and stuff, but it's a great source of information and it'd be incredibly useful sometimes to explain something to a user.
However, links to YouTube, Twitter and, WORSE, a URL shortener? Nonsense. I just don't get it.
I PMed some community staff moderators to know what in the world this is supposed to mean. |

| This rant really should be in RT, but I imagine they're quite sick of anyone that mentions this new "feature". |

Because they're both bad ideas.
Lately, roblox has been having an enormous amount of bad ideas. Even more than they usually do. |

Well now I can post good and inspiring videos to people. I'll just use it to mainly share songs with friends anyways olol.
I agree ROBLOX is having bad ideas; that's what happens to people when they're too focused on competition and not self-improvement.

Usually in the past they did not allow. But now they do. Youtube is a site like you can make fun of someones life. |

| Ugh... it's amazing how many prejudice people are on this forum. >>IT IS A GAME<<. It does not matter about offsite links. There is no such thing as perfect. Yes, updates can be bad, but what's the big deal with offsite links. Some people might want to actually share scripts or work co-op with scripts on sites like sync.in. |

Allow Wikipedia. Perhaps, allow YouTube Disallow twitter. The admins using the site and sharing their accounts isn't a good reason to allow the thing. If you do allow twitter, it would make sense to allow facebook also, right? Especially because of the whole facebook connect thing. Disallow the link shortener; obviously.
But I'd be perfectly happy with 'Offsite links are allowed" :) |

Well I have to say is, YOU ASKED FOR IT.
You were once talking about how you wanted 13+ ROBLOX, well look now we have it? You now have the freedom you want.
I'm not saying your opinion is terrible or you should not be complaining or anything, but this is quite odd to me that once in a 4+ page thread you guys were talking about making a 13+ ROBLOX and now you want it reverted.

| I'm ok with the idea, but I'd rather just have no 'No offsite links' rule than being allowed to use a url shortener. The only logical reason to use one is if you want to mask the website you're linking people to for malicious purposes. |

And to use t.co I'd have to make a twitter account. Blah that. Someone go make a t.co link to the lua site because getting warned for a link to there is, well, stupid. Why can't we link to the lua site? Seriously? It should have been on that list before ANY of the other allowed links.
So yea, I agree with arceus. |

I don't have any have any problems with this update in particular, but I am very annoyed with some of the comparisons between this and other moderation acts. I have received several warnings in OT (only OT) about my wiki user page, but wiki links are implicitly allowed on the main site. I 3(m41l)ed appeals AT roblox DAWT cawm to complain after the first time it happened, and not only did they tell me that yes, it is allowed, but that they would prevent it from happening again. Well, what do you know; it's happened no less than 5 times now.
So forgive me if I find it humorous that I would get warnings for wiki links but not twitter.

I've never asked for a such thing. Just because some morons on the Off Topic forum or some other immature forum are asking for stupid things doesn't mean everyone wants them.
No, NOT everyone who is older than 13 wants guns, blood, voice chat, offsite links and all that stuff. |

@Vito I see your point, but if they are going to allow a URL shortener (and therefore, every website imaginable via that shortener), then they might as well say: all offsite links are allowed.

I see no reason to block offsite links. Obviously, spam prevention has to take place using algorithms, and stuff, but there shouldn't be anything wrong with spreading harmless links.

One of the only things that still keeps me on ROBLOX is the forums, and that's because the forums here aren't like IronNoob and every single other forum out there.
Honestly, I'm fine with plain text, and I'd rather keep plain text and have no offsite links or anything else. Sure, these restrictions are overboard, but if they weren't there, these forums would become like all the other forums out there.
We don't need images, we don't need all that stuff. There is already too much abuse right now, so allowing all of that would not make sense.
No, definitely, I prefer a over-restricted forum to other kinds of forums. Now, if only the ROBLOX forums actually had a better community... |

What i dont like in other forums is that most of the space is taken by the massive quotation chains of the previous 50 posters and the sigs which are twice taller than the post itself.
And the sigs and avatar are of course gifs about ponies. -,- |
