Seriously Bethseda, this is a problem. Let me elaborate
Having not played previous Elder Scrolls games, i thought Skyrim would make a nice start, and it did, the story line is amazing, the side quests are amazing, and the world is immersive, one problem though: Melee combat
How is this a problem? Using a bow or magic feels fine, but Melee feels slow and clunky and has NO skill involved, it is just a hack fest, seriously, Playing on a pc, was felt really weird, everytime i went to swing i would turn to actually hit the enemy, so i don't know what im hitting because i cant see!, BUT WAIT THERES MORE
so i went back to play oblivion, the combat flows smoothly and nicely and generally felt better
Opinions? |

@Turbo
So did i, but having testing out Fallout's combat (one of Bethseda's other flagship games) and Oblivion i couldn't help but feel they were being lazy here |

Morrowind's combat is worse, your chance to hit the enemy is determined by die rolls, the outcome of which are determined by your attributes, skills, and Fatigue.

| Oblivions Combat was definitely better than Morrowind, but Morrowind is an overall better game than Oblivion. |

| If you played the other TES games, it lost a lot of its complex RPG parts that made it so famous. |

I take it this is your first video game, none of that is true.

The story line is awful, the final boss battle is horrid.
The world looks beautiful though. |

Elder Scrolls combat feels bit dull, and I hope they change, or revolutionize the combat system when Elder Scrolls Online comes out.
In my opinion, Mount & Blade: Warband combat was better, as you had directional swings, other than mashing the attack button.
But to add to that, the Directional Swing thing was good when it was just a sword vs sword thing. No shields involved, as they just blocked everything. |

if you have the observation skills of a dead animal maybe, it's riddled with plotholes.
>You find out you're part dragon and have to kill a static, moustache-twirling dragon. It isn't that I want development out of a non-sentient being, but take this into consideration; >He fails to hurt, kill, turn, or subdue any important character throughout the game >He fails to do anything about the main character learning the Dragonrend shout despite clearly knowing he is doing so since he ambushes him immediately afterwards >He destroys one tiny little Imperial town that is largely insignificant to the game, he does nothing to aggravate anyone in the game from this point on. >His dragons are all weak and disorganized >He faces us only after we gain the ability to defeat him >He is betrayed by his brother and his second in command one after another. >His goals contradict each other. He is the "world eater" and also has articulated his plan to enslave humanity. >He is the greatest and oldest dragon in existence but he has less shouts than other dragons of a same or lesser level

'grey, grey, grey, oh look some brown, grey, grey, oh look some blurry textures, grey grey oh some low-res water'
around riften: pretty autumn scenery (also bears but that's irrelevant) north of windhelm: huge icebergs and cool aurora night sky (not sure exactly how to describe it but it's fairly different to, say, winterhold or dawnstar) south of whiterun: geothermal pools and i don't need to say any more on the subject around markarth: steep peaks and sweet waterfalls, also a ton of dwemer stuff around whiterun: wide-open rolling green hills around morthal: marshlands which admittedly i'm not a fan of but oh well around falkreath: pine forests i guess? it's still different from every other area in skyrim
yep everything looks exactly the same also what did you expect from a western fantasy RPG, flashing neon signs dotting the entire world map?

Oblivion was colorful, drofti. Even Morrowind had more color and it was supposed to be brown and bloom.

breaking news: colour is not directly proportional to how good a game looks in fact graphics in general aren't directly proportional to how good a game looks

i didn't say skyrim doesn't look different, i said it has a horrendously small color pallet and blurry textures.

blurry textures shouldn't really matter unless they're impossible to make out (which they aren't)
also dull colors aren't exactly the end of the world either
it's still a great looking game and in my opinion skyrim is VASTLY superior to cyrodil in terms of looks even if your opinion is different
