Velocity is the rate at which an object covers some distance, in a particular direction. Or in other words, it's the 'speed' at which an object travels along with the direction it's traveling.
Momentum is best thought of as a resistance to stopping. Consider that 'mass' is a measure of how difficult it is to accelerate an object. Then momentum, which is just mass times velocity, is a measure of how difficult it is to stop an object in motion. |
