[CONFLICT - The War for Rune]
NOTE - CONFLICT is a series of roleplays I am making, set in different universes, time periods, all that. Some will be modern military, some will focus on the Terran clans, etc.
[Plot -
Hello. I am Holodrone One Eighteen, and I have been assigned to give you a quick run through of the current happenings and events.
You are a member of the Terran Eastern Pact, one of the four most powerful clans fighting for control of the planet Terra. You applied, in some way, for military service, and are about to be assigned to a squad to replace missing, dead, or retired members.
You have not been given much information regarding your missions, although you know you will be fighting the other clans, and most missions will take place on the colonized moon known as "Rune". Quickly, I will review your knowledge of the enemy clans, Rune, and of your own clan.
The Eastern Pact quickly took over multiple companies and corporations to supply themselves. The result was a mix match of equipment, and tons of diversity when it comes to weaponry and supplies. Soldiers of the Eastern Pact have not recieved much military training, and most of their conscripts are sent to the front lines with less than one day of training. They are also the only clan to still use the vicht, a traditional Terran longsword.
The Northern Coalition is based the far north, secluded from the other factions. When their enemies came to attack them, they revealed their style - Hard and fast, using gauss weapons. Their vehicles are bristling with weaponry and the weapons themselves are powerful, although their armor is limited. They live in seclusion and train in blitz and scorched earth tactics, although their actual military training is limited.
The Grey Alliance focus on light ballistic weaponry, with quick moving, lightly armed vehicles to back up their quick and light armored guerilla soldiers. Vadrak soldiers are often ready to use guerilla and terror tactics, and focus more on destroying enemy infrastructure than the enemy troops themselves.
The United Western Clans are armed with heavy weapons and fast vehicles, and air superiority. Their weapons are plasma and heavy ballistics based, with explosives and rockets also implemented. They are the only faction with a large air force. Soldiers of the United Western Clans have recieved large ammounts of military and strategy training. They are the only clan to still use the tahn, a traditional Terran shortsword.
All four clans are ruthless and will stop at nothing for rule of Rune. This cause may not be right, but is what you believe in and you will fight to defend it. Now, on to Rune itself.
Rune is a large moon, bigger than most. It supports Terran life, and has been heavily colonized. At the far north and south of the moon, there are two polar ice caps. There are no jungles on Rune, as it is mainly filled with grasslands, forests of small, seperated trees, and mountainous terrain. The colonies are small and life is hard. The north is under Northern Coalition control. The west is under United Western Clans control. Your clan, the Eastern Pact, controls most of the east. The Grey Alliance controls some parts of the east and the entire south.

[Alpha Squad -
[1] Claus Koviks, alias Deacon - Claus, better known by the codename Deacon, is the commanding officer of Alpha Squad. He is tall with a muscular build. His hair is brown, as is his untrimmed beard. His eyes are green, and he has a scar going from just below his right eye to under his chin. He is a good leader, although he is prone to heroics and is very proud of himself. He carries a TAR, an HHG, and a Vicht sword.
[2] Arla Codman, alias Duchess - Arla, codename Duchess, is Alpha Squad's second officer. She is tall and thin, with long black hair tied in a ponytail. Her eyes are brown. She is trained in marksmanship, although she prefers an assault rifle. She has an independant personality, and is very skilled with machines. She carries a BAR, an HHG, and a combat knife.

[Bravo Squad -
[1] Robert Racht-Volgman, alias Beowulf - Robert is the commanding officer of Bravo Squad. His codename is Beowulf, although most adress him as Robert or Captain. He is tall, but not as tall as Deacon, and has grey-black hair and grey stubble on his face. His eyes are blue, and his face is relatively clean and unscarred compared to most soldiers. He is a good leader, [some would say better than Deacon] and focuses more on the survival of his team than his orders. He carries a Breach Rifle, a TPSW, and an engineering axe.
[2] Mark Pence, alias Grendel - Pence, or his codename, Grendel, is Bravo Squad's second officer. He is of medium height, with an athletic [but not very muscular] build and black eyes. His hair is red, and his face is clean shaven. Where as the other members of both squads prefer their helmets, he wears a blue beret. He is a tactician and demolitions expert, and often advises Robert before a battle. He carries an SCR, an LHG, and a Vicht sword.

[Classes-
Assault] Assault soldiers are the standard of Eastern Pact forces. They are a jack of all trades, but are not as specialized in each field as the other classes.
Storm] Storm soldiers are the light, fast, and well equipped soldiers of the Eastern Pact. They often spearhead an assault, or take out tactical targets while a main force advances. Their specialization is light armor and automatic weapons.
Heavy] Heavy soldiers are the opposites of the Storm soldiers. They are usually found reinforcing a company of Assault soldiers. Their specialization is heavy armor and support/heavy weapons.
Engineer] Engineers pilot the vehicles and artillery of the Eastern Pact, and keep them running with their technical skills. Their specialization is medium armor and mechanics.
Marksman] Marksmen advance ahead of a main force, tactically taking out targets with high powered rifles, or scouting enemy positions. Their specialization is light armor and long range weapons.
Medic] Medics are not as well armed as their fighting counterparts, and prefer to stick with a group of soldiers, reviving anyone who is downed and providing medical assistance when needed. Their specialization is medium armor and medical skills.
[Weapons -
Light Weapons -
LHG] The LHG is a standard handgun, firing 12mm rounds. It resembles a beefed up and blackened version of a Beretta M96 sidearm.
HHG] The HHG is a heavy, eight-round magazine handgun. Firing large flechette-like rounds, its heavy recoil is overlooked by the damage it inflicts to its victims. The charged propellant and velocity of the rounds give even the heaviestly armored pause when it hits.
TPSW] The TPSW is an extremely portable machine-pistol, firing small .22 caliber bursts. . A compact thirty-round spiral drum is fitted to the bottom of the weapon. The TPSW can empty itself at full-auto in eight seconds. Resembles a bullpup MP7.
BFCSMG] The BFCSMG resembles a P90 with a longer barrel. Although powerful enough to be classified as a medium weapon, the small stature and light weight of this weapon classify it as a light weapon. It can fit thirty round magazines.
9-L3 Handgun] The 9-L3 is a combat pistol for all situations. The 9-L3 was built to prevent any chance of jamming, but it can overheat easily.
Medium Weapons -
AR-9N Assault Rifle] An all around weapon created for assault troopers. Steady grip, low recoil, large magazine, and a comfortable trigger make this a great weapon for anyone. However, problems with overheating and jamming are common.
BSAW Squad Automatic Weapon] A light LMG created for engineers and commandoes. Set with not only full automatic but a three round burst setting as well, the BSAW can be both accurate and deadly. Some models come with laser sights and reflex sights for added accuracy. Jamming is relatively common, but overheating is prevented by various technologies.
B1-I7 Combat Shotgun] An urban assault weapon with tech aplenty. Equipped with a laser sight, reflex sight, and an electricity bayonet. Some commando variants have gauss energy charges instead of regular shells.
XGAR-65 Gauss Assault Rifle] An assault rifle with gauss charges. Although they’re only light charges, gauss weapons are devastating no matter how weak they are. The XGAR has a large charge capacity, and, like all gauss weapons, cannot overheat or jam.
XAM_3 Grenade Launcher] A grenade launcher with a surprising addition, a long bayonet in case the XAM’s operator encounters a close quarters battle situation. The rounds can be switched between incendiary, explosive, or chemical.
TAR] The TAR is a standard assault rifle. Twenty round magazine. It looks like an L85A2 with a longer magazine and a shorter barrel.
BAR] The BAR is a heavy assault rifle. Thirty round magazine of .50 caliber rounds in exchange for a slow rate of fire. It resembles a modern version of a WWII BAR.
LCR] The LCR is a standard combat rifle. Twelve round magazine. The LCR is almost exactly the same in appearance to a grey M16.
SCR] The SCR is a long ranged combat rifle. Equipped with a sniper scope. Four round magazine. It looks a lot like a TAR-21.
Breach Rifle] The Breach Rifle is an automatic shotgun, resembling a four barreled rifle with a belt instead of a magazine. It can hold ten slugs, or twelve pellet shells.
HAASG] The HAASG looks like a standard shotgun, although at the front of the weapon, there are three barrels instead of one. Near the middle of the weapon there are four magazines, one for each barrel, each holding five rounds.
Heavy Weapons -
GREN-DL] The GREN-DL is a gas powered grenade launcher. Two round magazine. The GREN-DL is rectangular, with two barrels. It cannot be fired from the shoulder, only from the hip. One side has a series of gas cannisters to launch the projectile, where as the other has optics connected directly to the operator's HUD.
TSCG] The TSCG is a heavy machinegun, resembling a Browning machine gun. It is equipped with a sixty round belt.
M1K_S Heavy Machinegun] A big, nasty, bulky machinegun, usually mounted on tanks. It is only man portable to the strongest, best soldiers. It spits out high velocity, armour piercing rounds at a rate of 95 rounds per second. It is prone to severe overheating.
AL_ FPM8 Flame Thrower] A carbine based flamethrower capable of turning a person into a pile of ash, in roughly three seconds or so. It can also be fitted with rare acid cartridges for anti-armour combat.
B76 Knifesling] A bulky rifle shaped weapon that shoots knife-like darts at high speed. Each knife can be coated in poison, or flammable liquids, to fit the mission.
M-9 GAU Gauss Rifle] A huge, savage, and heavy rifle that’s best left for the toughest troops only, the M-9 is a killer. Armed with blue gauss energy magazines, enemy heads can be quickly turned into a mushy pile. Often, it is equipped with combat scopes for long range devastation.
ARGO1 Chemical Shell Weapon] A devastating single shot disposable rocket launcher, with a large biochemical charge. If shot into a building, it will flood it with paralyzing gas. The gas dies off after five minutes, but the paralyzing affect lasts up to three hours, allowing soldiers to take an entire enemy squad prisoner with only one round fired.
NOTE - ARGO1 is only listed for reference. It is not available.
Melee Weapons -
Vicht] A curving longsword, traditional to the Eastern Pact. In the old times, they were simple swords used in battles of honor, although in these modern times most soldiers are deployed with one. They are powered with energy, and as such cut through materials much better than your average blade.
Engineering Axe] Every good Engineer carries a big fire axe. Axes are good for cutting and smashing, and everyone loves cutting and smashing.
Combat Knife] The standard Eastern Pact combat knife has a short, thick handle, with a long blade. They can be charged with electricity or energy, for paralyzing attacks or cutting through armor respectively.
Energy Spear] A spear made of light metals. The rod is light, and easy to lift. The spearhead is made of steel, and is charged with raw energy, giving it the power to stab through metal and stone.

[Vehicles -
NOTE - You will never drive these, although you may ride in one en route to a mission or fight alongside them.
Spartan Technicals] Spartans are light, fast vehicles with six wheels. They usually have a mounted gauss gun or grenade launcher.
Chieftain Tanks] Chieftains are the slow, heavy armored tanks of the Eastern Pact. They have a single main gun which fires gauss rounds, and a mounted chaingun.
Longbow Gunships] Longbows are small gunships, with light armor, two heavy machine guns and a rocket pod. They are often used to bombard enemy armor or to escort Crossbow dropships.
Crossbow Dropships] Crossbows are large dropships, with room for eight people and a field gun. They have no weapons other than a light machine gun and rely on Longbow escorts.
[Enemy Infantry -
Footsoldiers] These are the low ranking enemy clansmen. They usually carry assault or bolt action rifles, and a handgun or revolver. They usually focus on speed, wearing little armor, but will call for back-up if outmatched.
Grenadiers] These are also low ranking enemy clansmen, although they carry grenade launchers, rocket propelled grenades, or heavy shotguns. They wear more armor than Footsoldiers, but can't move as fast.
Heavy Footsoldiers] Heavy Footsoldiers are low ranking and poorly trained, like regular Footsoldiers, although instead of speed and light weapons and armor, they wear a thicker armor, and carry grenade launchers and machine guns.
Pyrotechnicians] Pyrotechnicians, or pyros, are equipped with flamethrowers and revolvers. They wear heavy gasmasks and bulky armor to cope with the fire they deal with in combat. In special situations, they use gas spreaders, which are flamethrowers refit to spray toxic gas.
Engineers] Engineers are the techies of the opposing Terran clans. They usually don't carry much in the way of weapons, often a submachine gun or a shotgun, and a blowtorch and wrench for repairing vehicles.
Marksmen] Marksmen are usually better trained than their Footsoldier counterparts, as they have to wear less armor and use scoped bolt action rifles in combat. Most are crack shots, and will not miss an opportunity to blow off your head.
[Faction Specific Enemies -
Northern Coalition - The Northern Coalition cannot use as many fire based weapons as the other clans, as they live in the frozen north of Rune. Because of this, they have Cryotechnicians instead of Pyrotechnicians. Cryotechnicians use ice-based weaponry, such as freezing gas or blood freezing bioweapons.
Grey Alliance - The Grey Alliance is very much a stealthy, guerilla faction. Because of this, they often support their troops with Stealth Soldiers and Stealth Marksmen. These soldiers are much like regular troops, although they are trained in the art of stealth and are equipped with personal cloaking devices.
United Western Clans - The United Western Clans are all about heavy weapons. As such, they occasionally will outfit their soldiers with MABs, or Magnetically Accelerated Battlesuits. MABs are armored like tanks, and can carry heavy weapons such as Gauss Rifles or rocket launchers like a regular soldier carries an assault rifle.
[Enemy Vehicles -
Jaguar Technicals] Jaguar technicals are a type of light jeeps often used by the Grey Alliance. They have light armor and a mounted heavy machine gun.
Archer Technicals] Archers are technicals often used by the Northern Coalition. They have light armor and rocket pods which can hold four missiles at a time.
Peacemaker Technicals] Peacemaker technicals are used by the United Western Clans. They have light armor and a mounted gauss cannon.
Ogre Tanks] Ogre tanks are standard tanks used by the Grey Alliance. They have heavy armor, a main high explosive cannon, and a mounted light machine gun.
Catapult Tanks] Catapult tanks are the tanks used by the Northern Coalition. They have heavy armor, a main armor piercing cannon, and a mounted grenade launcher.
Wallbreaker Tanks] Wallbreakers are the tanks used by the United Western Clans. They have heavy armor, a main gauss cannon, and a mounted flamethrower.
Hawk Gunships] Hawk gunships are the VTOL aircraft used by the Grey Alliance. They have medium armor and two miniguns.
Reaper Gunships] Reapers are the Northern Coalition gunships. They have two rocket pods and a light machine gun.
Firestarter Gunships] Firestarter gunships belong to the United Western Clans. They have two rocket pods and a flamethrower. |

Appearance - Hayley would stand at about 5'8 with a slender but athletic bodytype. Her skin would be a little on the pale side, but she'd have little to no blemishes noticable on her face or body. With relatively feminine features, she'd look a little young for her ag.e; As if she were still in her late teens. Her almost bleached blonde long hair would usually only fashioned into a ponytail when on missions; And when off duty she'd have it just straight. Probably her most prominent feature would be her soul-piercing light gray eyes.

Biography - Hayley was born into a predominately middle class civillian-esque family on thee Eastern Pact's side of 'Rune'. As an only child, Hayley really liked to watch and observe what others do as she didn't really have much to do her self. Other than that, she had a normal childhood. She didn't really have too much friends, though. Her parents always kept her inside. By the time she finished her education, her father kept pushing for her to continue and try to go to whatever the equivilant of a college education is in this universe. Although Hayley didn't want to displease her father, she decided to enlist into the military instead as she felt a greater purpose. After a tad-bit of training, here she is now.

Name - Dallas Thorn [Although no one knows his name, files burnt, he only would tell those he wants to tell about his name.]
Alias - Doesn't really have one, usually referred to as Behemoth, etc.
A.ge - Estimated late twenties, maybe early thirties.
Gender - Male
Appearance - A massive monster of a man, well over six feet and built like a bear on st.eroids. He rarely takes off his helmet, but he has shortly cropped, military precision black hair, and light blue eyes. He has a thicker jaw, and more chiseled features. He has a scar on his eyebrow going over his eye and onto the bridge of his nose, two smaller scars on his chin and right cheek, and a pile of longer ropey scars and little scars [Thought to be from an explosion]. His hands are large, very calloused, and are full of burn scars, because even though he wears heat resistant gloves, he is prone to not stop firing his gun until his hands are brunt horribly, or he kills the enemies. His teeth are somewhat crooked, but nothing really bad. He likes to wear the thickest, hardest armor around, and likes specialized armor and weapons and such. He has a decent tan, from being outside alot. He is an imposing figure indeed, and doesn't smile too much.

Class - Heavy
Personality - The type of person you wouldn't want to get mad, and is prone to breaking stuff when angry. He is more common to stick to himself, and is thought to be a cold, moreso heartless person. This is more or less true, but he is easily annoyed, and dislikes childish antics. He is a true soldier, ready to die in the line of duty, and rarely questions orders. He has a thick outer shell, so don't expect to really connect with him when you meet him. He normally warms up more easily to soldiers he fights with for longer periods of time. He is brash, and maybe a little too bold and will charge straight into battle to save someone.
Biography - As I have said, Dallas isn't one to reveal his past, but he has been a soldier since 15 or 16, easily making it in because of his size. He was born to a simple family, they weren't rich, but not close to being poor. He worked on his uncles farm since he was 10, which was where he gained a good deal of his muscle and strength. He felt the army calling for him, and wanted to be a hero at the time of his enlistment. He had more training than most soldiers, because of his ability to hold larger guns at a younger age. By now, he can easily hold and shoot the biggest of guns.

It's surgically attached to the skin and linked directly to an operator's HUD.

If you somehow got it off, surgically attached it to yourself, and then attempted to use it, it would self destruct as you are not the operator.

| Well, Eastern Pact Solar Marines use enhancement medicines to keep the level of awareness they have on earth the same when they're in space, but other than that, nothing. |

I suppose we can start now.
ALL
You disembark the dropship, and look around. You are in a military compound, surrounded by high electric fences. There are four buildings, although two are garages; the doors are open, nothing's inside at the moment. The third building is a large radio tower, with no visible entrance. The fourth looks more promising. It is a rectangular building, two stories high, with the red hawk emblem of the Eastern Pact clearly painted on one wall. You assume it is the right building, and head inside. Three men and one woman, the current members of Alpha and Bravo squads, are waiting for you inside. One, which you recognize as Alpha Squad's Deacon, shakes your hand. "Welcome to squads Alpha and Bravo. You have been assigned to one or the other to replace dead or missing members. May they rest in peace. Any questions?" |

You shake your head as if to say no, and examine the soldiers. Deacon and Bravo Squad's commander are the tallest, although they are all tall. The commanding officers of both squads seem to be a bit more muscular aswell. The other member of Bravo squad appears to be wearing a beret instead of a helmet. |

Responding quickly, I'd immediately stand up from my chair and head over towards the table, grabbing two of the grenades and det-charges as ordered. Stuffing them away into my uniform, I'd make for the door and head outside. Once outside, I'd look around for the dropship and head on over there. |

You approach the dropship. It's the same model as the one that dropped you off, but with a silver and grey colour to it instead of the green of the one that brought you here. Inside, two suits of armour are waiting. One has an "Alpha" patch, the other has a "Bravo" patch. The other members of squads Alpha and Bravo sit down, and wait for you to put your armour on.
