"People have forgotten that and continue to hate it without reasonable account."
I hate it and I do have good reasons. Lots of them.
I hate religion as a whole. |

I see no reasoning or logic behind this statement. |

@awesome
Some people thought that the Earth was the center of the universe in some religions. Scientists stepped up and proved them wrong by doing observations. |

| But scientists didn't make observations BECAUSE of religion, if anything, religion DISCOURAGED them from doing so. Several scientists have been executed on account of "bigotry", because they simply stated what they have observed. |

| That doesn't mean that the existence of religion CAUSED them to make and record those observations. Re-read that last sentence until you realize that what you just said doesn't make any sense. |

People should just respect people's privacy and respect each other's views and religions, even if they are atheist.

"“Man's hatred of the Bible has been one of the most persistent, determined, relentless and bitter character traits.
It has led to eighteen centuries of repeated attempts to undermine faith in the Bible, and to consign the Bible itself to oblivion...Every engine of destruction that human philosophy, human science, human reason, human art, human cunning, human force and human brutality could bring to bear to bear against this book has been brought to bear against this book, and yet the Bible stands absolutely unshaken today. At times almost all the wise and great of the earth have been pitted against the Bible, and only an obscure few for it. Yet is has stood”. - Dr R. A. Torrey."
the worst the bible has ever had to face is the roman empire. besides that its been perfectly accepted up until the 20th century. it hasn't been bombarded through history by everything imaginable. its like Christians have some kind of persecution complex! in everything they do they are always the victims! i mean they clearly were the victims during the crusades and they were clearly the victims of the Christians dark ages(well they were kind of victimizing themselves in that one but still). /sarcasm |

"People should just respect people's privacy and"
ok what does this have to do with anything in this thread?
"respect each other's views and religions, even if they are atheist."
why would you mindlessly respect someones beliefs because they are beliefs? doing that is immeasurably harmful. |

"More of the blaming Christianity for the past? That's always your fallback plan. I understand many wicked men tried to twist the words of God, and believe me they are probably being punished for it to this day, but that is no reason to kick Christianity into the dirt."
i can blame christianity in the future if you want. "twist" seriously.....?! god promoted horrible things in the bible and the horrors that were committed in his name were minor compared to what god commanded himself. i also believe ONE THOUSAND YEARS of no scientific or social progress is reason enough to kick christianity into the dirt....wait thats to decent. it makes me want to cut it into pieces then piss on it and then kick it into the dirt.
"THIS RIGHT HERE, is so incorrect, it makes me want to actually research all the Christian persecution that's occured in history. The main fact here is that people have rebelled against it, nevertheless it's still strong today."
what all your going to find id early christian persecution and then its not particularly horrible compared to what Christians themselves did in the future. once christianity got into power IT STAYED IN POWER! it got into power very early on as well. how many people have rebelled against it i might ask? have whole regions risen up and burnt every bible they could find? has it undergone any actual hardships compared to what many scientific findings underwent while it was in power? we've lost so much because of your religion and the few things that survived intense censorship are few and far between. |

Would you like to know why Christianity has stayed around for so long?
It made sense to people back 2,000 years ago because they lacked the scientific understanding we have today, so it became popular.
It's still around because of brainwashing.
It's as simple as that. |
