***Expanse***

Space... Ever expanding, destroying, and then expanding again. Over millions of years, many races have expanded and subsequently been destroyed. Such is the rise and fall of Empires. A new world awaits, many peoples willing to risk their lives for their lives for their leaders, all on a quest of wealth, technological supremacy, glory. Are you a leader? Maybe just a follower? A fighter? A diplomat? You are whatever you wish, the expanse of the universe awaits...

**Information**

Expanse is based in a large platform set many years in the future. Technology has advanced and many races are now intelligent enough to make their run at becoming dominating forces in the universe. As the player, you are able to create many things and shape the world around you. All I ask is that you read this information, abide by the rules and please, do not make things too overpowered.

*Tech Tree/Fac Points*

Technology upgrades in Expanse are purchased with Fac Points. Since every player will most likely own a faction (all though it is perfectly fine if you just want to join a friend's faction if you aren't all that serious about this thread) they will need to upgrade their technology in a FAIR and BALANCED system. Fac Points will be gained every time a faction owner posts. If you are the owner of a small faction, you will gain 1 FP per post. If you are the owner of a large faction, you will gain 2 FP per post (See Factions). Fac Points are not tradeable or sellable, there are yours and yours to keep.

The Tech Tree is meant to be as broad as possible, but still limiting players that are just starting from gaining overpowered technology right from the get-go. The tech tree runs as follows:

Note that the the tech levels must be bought IN ORDER and once you spend your fac points they are taken away.

#Bronze (starter)
 Included: Basic projectile weapons (metal bullets, basic artillery shells.) Basic engines (running off fossil fuels.)

#Silver (20 FP)
 Included: High quality projectiles (heavy metal bullets, self-targeting artillery.) Combustion Engines (run off most particles and not just fossil fuels.)

#Gold (20 FP)
 Included: Condensed particle projectiles (can be made from almost anything and can pierce ship defense systems after some time, no artillery upgrades.) No engine upgrades.

#Emerald (30 FP)
 Included: Condensed particle projectiles (no projectile upgrades, artillery can pierce basic ship defenses in a few strikes depending on the ship and its defenses.) Complete particle engines (run off of literally anything, meaning you no longer have to dock for fueling.)

#Platinum (30 FP)
 Included: Complete particle projectiles (projectiles have unlimited ammunition systems but are still powered by material projectiles, artillery accuracy is improved.) Engine performance is improved (faster, more powerful engines.)

#Plasma (30 FP)
 Included: Plasma projectiles (projectiles advance to a heated plasma form and are now more powerful, no artillery upgrades.) Engines can be run by plasma systems. (high performance engines move ships longer distances in shorter amounts of time, but short distance travel is not improved.)

#Energy (40 FP)
 Included: Raw energy weapons. (projectiles are fused on the atomic level into small balls of energy, artillery can be made the same way and does immense amounts of damage.) Engines now run off of energy as well. (speed and performance is also greatly increased.

If you want technology that is not listed in here, please ask me about it. I will decide which tech level you will need to start using it and will more than likely make a shout out to all other members of the RP. This is simply meant to be guidelines, as most people will want to focus on the guns and the ships rather than scientific things that some might want to have for their faction.

*Factions*

The platform is mainly based on factions, large and small. Factions are controlled by players, much like most of the scenario.

Large Factions - There are going to be 4 large factions. I don't know who all will own them (CapRex will own one), but if you feel that you are responsible enough to handle a large faction, please request below AFTER YOU READ THIS THREAD. Large factions are able to have small factions "join up" with them (see small factions). Large factions will gain 2 FP per post. Below is the LARGE FACITON CS. (Please include the symbolism such as the # and the bullets.)

#LargeFaction
 - Name:

 - Application System: (So smaller factions can join your faction. If you do not require applications put "N/A" but understand that this makes your faction open to everyone)

 - Leader(s):

 - Faction Information: (Economic beliefs, government system, systems that your faction owns (can be expanded at any time, but over extending yourself will cause problems), any other useful information about your faction. Can be as detailed as you wish, but do not make it too short.)

 - Small Faction Application System: (Optional, detail what the application system is for small factions looking to join up.)

Small Factions - Small factions can be made instantly and owned by anyone, you do not need approval for a small faction. It is recommended but not required that small factions "join up" with larger factions in sort of an alliance. Some large factions may have application systems that you need to go through before becoming a registered member or ally of that large faction. Larger factions may loan ships with more advanced technology to you. However, in return you will owe the owner of this large faction whatever they ask. Small factions gain 1 FP per post. Below is the SMALL FACTION CS. (Again, please include symbols.)

#SmallFaction
 - Name:

 - Large Faction: (Optional. Note that you must go through the application system before you can list this for your faction, unless the faction you are trying to join does not have an application system, in which case you may join them immediately.)

 - Leader(s):

 - Faction Information: (Economic beliefs, government system, systems that your faction owns (can be expanded at any time, but over extending yourself will cause problems), any other useful information about your faction. Can be as detailed as you wish, but do not make it too short.)

 - Capital Planet: (Optional, but recommended. Main Planet would be the planet your faction's government meets, if humans had a faction, Earth would be their main planet.)

*Fleets*

A fleet is a collection of ships that is owned by your faction. Every small faction starts with 1 fleet, every large faction starts with 2.

You gain more fleets as you gain tech levels. Every other tech level, you will gain 1 fleet for your faction. So, if you are a the owner of a small faction, your fleet count will go something like this: Bronze - 1 Fleet, Silver - 1 Fleet, Gold - 2 Fleets, Emerald - 2 Fleets, Platinum - 3 Fleets, Plasma - 3 Fleets, Energy - 4 Fleets. If you are the owner of a large fleet, your fleet count will go: Bronze - 2 Fleets, Silver - 2 Fleets, Gold - 3 Fleets, Emerald - 3 Fleets, Platinum - 4 Fleets, Plasma - 4 Fleets, Energy - 5 Fleets.
When you have reached the top tech level, Energy, you may gain 1 additional fleet per every 75 FP. (Seems like a large number, but this is to keep people from having gigantic amounts of ships in short amounts of time. And honestly you could go up a fleet a day if you are active on the thread.)

Please be advised there are limitations on Fleets. Each fleet may have NO MORE THAN 30 small ships, 3 large ships, and 1 main ship PER FLEET. (For ship classifications see Ships)

#Fleet
 - Fleet Name: (Optional)

 - Small Ships: (Put small ship class and amount. Ex: Fighter/30. Ex: Fighter/15, Corvette/15)

 - Large Ships: (Put class and amount.)

 - Main Ship: (Class and amount.)

*Ships*

This is gonna be a long one, just bear with me. Ships are used in fleets. They all have different classes which go as followed:

Small Ships
 - Scout - Able to move quickly and dodge many enemy projectiles, however it has difficulty with artillery or heavy fire.
 - Fighter - Good in large amounts for taking down large ships.
 - Corvette - Good for transporting ground troops to invade other large ships. Must be carried by a Carrier.
 - Frigate - A solid, good fighting small ship, nothing much to it.
 - Q-Ship - These ships are useful in secretive missions as they can move fast and hide many of their systems easily, however scouts are far faster.

Large Ships
 - Bomber - Must be carried by a super-carrier. Holds massive amounts of artillery useful for destroying powerful fleets and/or planets.
 - Battleship - A balanced fighting ship. A good core of any fleet.
 - Carrier - Carries corvettes, has minimal weapons systems.

Main Ships
 - Capital Ship - Used solely for diplomatic missions, weapon systems are minimal. Factions seeking to expand their influence should seek a fleet based around these ships.
 - Super-carrier - Carries bombers. Any fleet with bombers needs a super-carrier to properly function, as bombers cannot transport between systems without a super-carrier.
 - Dreadnought - Pure fighting machine. Heavy artillery and large amounts of projectile weapons are what this ship was built for.

If you wish to detail these ships or give them custom weapons systems (make sure to ask me before giving them something that might not be available in their tech level) or any other kind of personalized aspect, here you go:

 - Weapons: (Artillery and projectile guns are the basics. Ask me about other things.)

*Systems*

Fairly self explanatory, systems are groups of planets orbiting around a celestial object.

Planets in the system that you do not want to make individual CS's for may be detailed through planet classes, as listed: Dead (Uninhabitable), Barren (Desert-like), Volcanic, Tropical, Temperate Hot (sort of like Florida, if you need an example), Temperate (in between hot and cold), Temperate Cold (ex: Southern parts of Canada), Tundra, Frozen, Gas Giant. (You don't have to include planet moons.)

#System
 - Name:

 - Star: (Class of star is optional, I'm talking Red Dwarf, things like that.)

 - Planets: (List the name of the planet and the planet class. Ex: Earth:Temperate, Mars:Barren, etc.)

 - Faction:

 - Race(s): (List the majority race first. Only 1 race is required.)

*Planets*

A planet CS is only required if you plan to actively role play on that planet. For example if your faction had a Capital Planet, you would probably want to make a Planet CS for that planet. Otherwise, detailing it with the classes in the system CS is more than enough detail.

 - Physical Features: (Continents / land masses, rivers, oceans, lakes, seas, mountain ranges, general appearance of the land.)

 - Race(s):

 - History: (Optional but recommended.)

Narrowing it down more and more, eh? You can join an existing race if you wish, but for guys just starting the thread off, sorry but I'm gonna need you to detail it. Humans are possible, but YOU STILL NEED TO MAKE A RACE CS AND DETAIL THEM!

 - Appearance: (Physical and "normal" clothing)

 - Culture:

 - Traits: (How long do they live? Do they interact with other members of their race? etc.)

 - Faction:

*Characters*

You may have as many characters as you like. You still need to keep infopads for all of them. (Have I explained infopads yet? Eh, I'll get to it, just hold off characters for a second and finish reading. It's easier to decide with a big picture.) I'm not going to require you to keep a character if you just want to manage a faction, but for people who like RPing, have at it.

#Character
 - Name:

 - Race:

 - Appearance: (Don't include everything from the race, just do height, weight, markings, whatever.)

 - Information: (Bio, basically, include likes, dislikes, your character's story, BE CREATIVE!)

 - Faction: (Use the race's faction if you are not sure.)

 - Other: (Weapons, whatever. Just make sure that your weapons are possible with the technology of your faction.

*infopads*

The infopad is what will help keep our roleplay on a manageable platform. It basically condenses all of your important information into one, quick read through. It will also be useful to you in keeping track of things like your current number of FP. (Please keep all of the symbols for each post. Your infopad isn't required until you actually start RPing.)

 - Name: (If you don't have a character this can be your faction's name.)
 - Faction: (If you are a small faction, include the large faction you belong to, if any like this: SmallFaction(LargeFaction) Ex: Ownage(Epicness))
 - Current FP: (Please note you will need to add to these every post, don't forget or they won't count!)
 - Current Tech Level: (Everyone starts on bronze and must work their way up.)

Yeah Rex you can own a large faction so make sure you do the large faction instead of the small one.

- Faction Information: The TCSMR does not publicly share most information, although they have conquered two star systems. These are the Tarkev system and the Svyr system. Their economy is the standard, and relatively balanced. Their symbol which they are identified by is a blue hawk with three stars on each wing. The TCSMR controls the Tarkev National Guard and her subfactions.

- Small Faction Application System: A small faction requesting access to the TCSMR must first prove itself as a worthy addition through war or otherwise, and then send a diplomat for negotiations.

#SmallFaction
- Name: Tarkev National Guard Solar Navy

- Large Faction: TCSMR

- Leader(s): Commanding Admiral Carter Volken

- Faction Information: The Tarkev National Guard Solar Navy is the leading faction of the many subfactions within the Tarkev National Guard. They are actually a group of TNG sub factions, notably the Tarkev Solar Marine Corps, the Tarkev National Guard Solar Navy Command, and the Tarkev Solar Ranger Corps. The leaders of these three factions voted on a name and leader, settling on the Tarkev National Guard Solar Navy and Commanding Admiral Carter Volken. - Name: Tarkens

- Appearance: Tarkens are almost identical to humans in appearance, although a bit taller. Their hair can also grow in more colors naturally, including silvers, whites, pale blues, and pale greens.

- Culture: Tarken culture, these days, is based arround business, war, conquest, and diplomacy with other races.

- Traits: Tarkens live for roughly one hundred years, and most definitely interact with their species. They have a good mind for business and war.

- Faction: TCSMR, TNG, TNG subfactions.

(@Cap The application system is basically just so people can't automatically join up with your faction. Sort of like when groups have join requests instead of automatic join.)

(Yeah that's fine. It probably won't turn out as hard as you think it will once you start. Basically you just need to worry about protecting your property, keeping an eye on your FP, and then upgrading your fleet. The rest is just roleplay.)

- Application System: Yes.

- Leader(s): The Clouncil.

- Faction Information: The federation owns 2 systems, the Clo-var and the Clo-mar. Their economic beliefs are purely capitalist and their governing type can be considered fascism at times. There are currently 7 habitable planets in the federation. There is a large gender imbalance, due to the brutal nature of the Clogarian, whom hordes females so males are usually killed competing for mates.

- Small Faction Application System: Yes, the smaller faction would have to prove itself in military victories.

- Capital Planet: Proditor - main political and military hub.

#Fleet
- Fleet Name: The Fleet of Retribution

- Small Ships: Fighter/10 Corvette/10 Scout/10

- Large Ships: Battleship/1 Bomber/1 Carrier/1

- Main Ship: 1- Super-carrier.


#Ship
- Name: Clogarian Super-Carrier

- Class: Mother F Big Ship (Main ship)

- Appearance: (Size, colors, etc.) An extremely bulky, rusty iron coloured ship. Around 3 km long and 1 wide.

- Weapons: An orbital bombardment (artillery) cannon, and multiple sentry turrets for space defense.

- Other: No shields at all, but has the ability to channel extra energy to its fighting capabilities.

- Name: Clo-var

- Star: Red-dwarf

- Planets: Hisho(inhabited, half-barren)-Proditor(lush metropolis) Kodo( Barren, volcanic wasteland), Layos (extremely large gas giant, settled by miners)- Midon ( A cold military metropolis)

- Faction: Clogar Federation

- Race(s): Clogar

Clo-mar has a lot of habitable planets, but they're all starting off and hold no influence or much resources.

- Appearance: (Physical and "normal" clothing) No clothing at all, look like extremely large pale humans with 4 arms and usually only ginger hair.

- Culture: Fascist, militaristic.

- Traits: The males are overly aggressive, many males die before their 18th birthday. The women are docile and community-driven.

- Faction: Federation.

(@Refund, small factions aren't OWNED by large factions. They are just sort of teamed with them. Like the fish that latch onto a shark's underbelly to survive. You don't have to team up with one, no.)

Inside the cross is a long silver sword crossing through them. The Empire has no government yet. The whole empire is led by one man named Alfred Viktov, known as General Viktov.

Traits: Due to there mutation, they can only last up to 50 before they can die of age. They only get along with there own race. Other races, not so friendly.
