A flashing hazard light Nobody in sight. The end is coming closer.
The radio won’t turn on, it just plays a broken, screaming song. The end is coming closer.
The houses are all dark and the dead have left their mark. Those that can be found are torn up on the ground. The end is coming closer.
The grass is almost gone It was done for all along. The end is coming closer.
A fire burns down the street killing everyone that it meets. The end is coming closer.
I’m running with nowhere to go at least I’m going somewhere, though. The end is coming closer.
I am not able to find anyone And it feels like this backpack weighs a ton. The end is coming closer.
There’s no point in bravery. Death is a mercy from below. Survivors cry out “Save me!” and yet they still do not know. They do not know the happiness waiting the way they beg to survive. But I must still walk along. I cannot help them, and instead they die. The end is even nearer.
The news stations are empty. The ones alive ask if God has sent me. The end is even nearer.
All lights are flickering now. I only wish to know how. The end is even nearer.
There are no traces of life anymore, and blood is spattered across the floor. The end is almost here.
I look at all the choices I have. There are none. The world is so sad. The end is almost here.
It is just as foretold and this knife is so cold. The end is almost here.
I scream out. I yell, I shout. The end has now arrived.
I don’t know where I am anymore. I recall what I had said. And at that moment I am sure, this ends when I am dead. The end has now arrived.
I take the knife. The time is now. But now I truly wonder how. How this happened, why this is. but I just can’t take it in. The end has now arrived.
The deed is done. I have won. My end has now arrived.
I am fading, slipping away. Falling right into the fray. My end has now arrived.
I smile. I laugh. I’m dying now, so fast. My end has now arrived.
I cannot feel anything anymore. I smile because now I’m done for.
The end of all things is here.
(pattern based off of the poem "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" by Maya Angelou)

I PMed you and actually I maybe could post the entire thing formatting would get messed up though.
SO HERE'S AN IDEA. I'll put a little preview of it and anyone that wants the whole thing, just PM me.
After dinner, I could have gone back to the courtyard to visit some more, but I was tired. I just wanted to go sleep. I pressed the button next to my tray of food and it evaporated, along with some chewed up bitter chocolate and turkey. I waited until we were dismissed by the warden, then walked through Peace Hall towards the translucent green field across the exit. I stepped into it and was temporarily unable to move while it searched me for anything dangerous. It lit up around me and everyone stopped and stared. The field only did that if there was a threat. Some black-suited men ran towards me. Where did they come from? They were dressed to be agile and unseen, like... What were they called? I’d read about them once in a history book. Ninjas. I started to panic. I tried to move, I tried to flail out, but I couldn’t. I was locked in the doorway. And then I wasn’t. The field burst, little shards of untouchable green stuff, like glass, flying through the air. People screamed and took cover under the tables. Those who didn’t were knocked back, sliding across the floor or table, depending on their position. I bolted.
