Part I of II: Lieutenant to Tier I Core Ranks
Prologue:
Comrades, it is time; the entire way our motherland operates is about to change. No longer will you be viewed as simply a collective, for today, my friends... is the dawn of a new era.
Within this guidebook, you will find yourselves immersed in the inner workings of what would be the child of The Preliators, Phoenix Technologies, and The People's Operations, were they to combine all of their ideologies together- I only pray that you find the information necessary for your success, advancement, and development within the Urban Assault Forces, because as you grow and develop as people, our motherland does as well.
Pro Patria; Variantia! For the motherland; diversify!
Introduction to the Diversity Advancement System:
There are four types of ranks, each class serving a different purpose within the system:
1. Basic Ranks: Private, Lieutenant, and all of the ranks in between are considered ‘basic’ ranks. These are the ranks in which one is expected to learn, obviously, the basics of clans- fighting, general discipline, etc. Promotions through these ranks are given through standard trainings (these will be shouted in the main group), or good performance in battle.
2. Divergent Ranks: There are two of these; Captain, and Major. These are the ranks at which you will be expected to choose, and be tested for acceptance into, your core skill area (the ranks for which are detailed below).
3. Core Ranks:
The three core skill areas within clans are as follows. After reaching the rank of Captain, you will be expected to choose the one that represents your greatest strength, and after proving your true potential, you may continue to pursue self betterment.
-1. Combat- The art of using ranged or melee weapons to neutralize enemies with minimal casualties, and avoided fatalities. For those with a sharp eye, a hard heart... and an unrivaled lust for the blood of all who oppose you.
-2. Design (and Development)- A field for those who appreciate the intricate things in life. A more efficient way to code this, a revolutionary design for that- you're bursting with creative energy, and you express it the best way you know how.
-3. Intellect- To pursue knowledge is a noble cause; for someone to commit to this path over the action packed fields of combat, or the labor intensive (yet amazingly rewarding) work of design and development does not even begin to truly express your dedication to the ways of the words. Combine this with a basic understanding of clan politics, and an amazing combination of unrivaled quality shall arise.
4. Authoritative Ranks: Artisan, Colonel, General, Legislature, and Commander. They have Commander granted authority over the ‘Basic’, ‘Core’ and ‘Divergent’ ranks. Their roles will be detailed in full later on.
In Depth Rank Descriptions:
-Lieutenant:
As you reach the rank of Lieutenant, you have two different things that you’ll be faced with:
1. Consider your skills. Which area would you like to go into once you reach Captain?
2. You have two options for reaching the rank of Captain (A.K.A a ‘Rank Advancement’ test):
2a. Reaching Level 30 in RAT: Fort Borealis (or any other Spectrum Game Engine bearing fort). [Subject to change with the release of new or different Game Engines.]
2b. Go to any public place with ‘weapons’ (weapon: a melee or projectile-firing weapon) and a leader board. Achieve an approximately 3:1 (or better) ratio, with your KOs being above 40.
A crisp, clear decal showing one of these two things is required. (Try taking square pictures, they stretch better with ROBLOX’s auto resize.)
When you have completed these two tasks, you are cleared for Captain.
-Captain:
The rank of Captain is considered a ‘divergent’ rank; one in which you must branch out to continue your UAF career.
After choosing your course of study, you will contact the Artisan in charge of the area, and request a task to prove you have potential in said area. These tasks are to be chosen at the discretion of the Artisan heading your desired area, and may or may not be difficult based on the skill you already have.
If you fail your acceptance assignment, you may retry it as many times as you like, being sure to rectify any mistakes pointed out by your Artisan.
Let it be known, however, that you may choose to change your desired path at any time, without asking an Authoritative Rank, which is the recommended course of action if you find a core area to be in your disfavor.
However, if you pass, your Artisan will place you into the previously chosen first tier core rank.
(A quick note, for those who believe they will have no course to take. All Captains are automatically accepted into Combat I, should they be so inclined, as a result of their passing of the Lieutenant Rank Advancement test.)
First Tier Core Ranks (Combat I, Design I, Intellect I):
Once you reach the core ranks, you are expected to begin training yourself rather than waiting for high ranks to train you. As I’ve stressed before, climbing up the ranks should be done by doing what you want to do, and should be based on your own hard work rather than your ability to perform well in a training.
-Combat I: This is the only automatic acceptance core rank; if you have passed the rank of Lieutenant, you may instantly diversify into Combat as your core skill. While in this rank, you will be expected to be constantly looking for a new challenge. If a shout is made to defend an ally, you’re gaining valuable experience with the weapons of our allies. If a defense is shouted at The City, you’re definitely expected to be there- fighting is your passion, isn’t it? And if a raid is shouted, you’d rather be brutally mutilated by wild bears than miss it- live for the kill!
After a week at this skill tier, you may submit your final test. The test will be the same for all parties involved; you must either:
1. Reach Level 40 in RAT: Fort Borealis (or any other Spectrum Game Engine bearing fort). [Subject to change with the release of data persistence for the Tbarpo Game Engine.]
-OR-
2. Go to any public place with ‘weapons’ (weapon: a melee or projectile-firing weapon) and a leader board. Achieve an approximately 5:1 (or better) ratio, with your KOs being above 25.
A crisp, clear decal showing one of these two things is required. (Try taking square pictures, they stretch better with ROBLOX’s auto resize.)
These will be turned in to one of the below Combat Artisans:
-Artisan Nightstalk95 -General Artisan Yoyo774
-Intellect I: This rank is for anyone with decent use of language, an interest in writing, proficiency in eloquence, and the like. You can’t look at something without compiling a list of spelling mistakes, pointing out missing commas, or shaking your head at poor sentence structure. When someone argues with you, they’ll have hell to pay if their argument isn’t airtight; because when you argue, you want to make sure they know that they’re the one in the wrong. You have that mentality about you that simply radiates intelligence- the way you speak, the things you say, and how you present them to others are all important to you.
Entrance into this core rank consists of your proficient completion of one of the below tests:
1. Read over the Constitution and the Member Codex. Think of a new rule or an amendment to an old rule that stays in line with the motherland’s moral principles.
Come up with a name for the amendment (for example [you can’t use this], “The Double Door Clause”, a new amendment concerning a dual system for reporting issues to high ranks), and then write it out.
Try to match the style of the original document, eliminate loopholes, and as many things as you can to promote coherency.
These will be turned in to one of the below Intellect Artisans:
-Commander Artisan DiscoHeaven -General Artisan Mewtwo562
-OR-
2. Write a one page novelization (describing facts as if they were a fictitious novel) of an experience in a combat situation (defending Kopervich, raiding Cryo, etc). Double spacing is permitted, and a 12 point font is required. If you do not have a word processor on your computer, Google Documents (via Google Drive) is highly recommended for creating and storing documents.
These will be turned into:
-Commander Artisan DiscoHeaven -Artisan ShatteredRealites120
(Note: An XF account and your active use of it is required for Intellect. If at any time I wish to share work with you, it will be done via Google Docs, the links to which will be shared outside of ROBLOX. Send ‘moojl15’ a friend request if you have not done so.)
-Design I: You have ideas and you know how to implement them- but you just can’t seem to have your work appreciated! The path to official development within UAF begins here, within the Design Core Ranks.
The Design ranks branch off into two separate areas; one for script development and another for architectural design.
Entrance into the scripting subdivision of this core rank consists of your proficient completion of the below test:
Create a team-switch GUI incorporating (at the minimum) the following:
-- All elements in the GUI must be the "Custom" style. -- It must be visually appealing. -- It must have three buttons; UAF, Visitors and Raiders. UAF may not be able to switch into the "Raider" or "Visitor" teams. Visitors and Raiders may not be able to switch into the "UAF" team. (Teamcolors don't matter; use whatever as long as the scripting is sound.) -- It MUST incorporate the "TweenPosition/TweenSize" methods. (Be creative.) -- It MUST kill the user on switching teams. -- You may not use the "MouseButton1Up" or "MouseButton1Down" events to connect to clicks. -- The code may not use any deprecated methods/it must be done as efficiently as possible. -- All lines must be commented appropriately to show your understanding.
BONUS: Use a table to store all of UAF's allies and place them on the UAF team upon entering.
Turn this test into Legislature Artisan Tbarpo upon completion.
Entrance into the architectural design subdivision of this core rank consists of your proficient completion of the below test:
--Construct a home of your own design.
It must be: ---100% yours, nothing designed by anyone other than yourself should be included ---At least four rooms must be present in the design ---Fully furnished (Appliances for the kitchen, bed and dressers for the bedroom, etc)
Turn this test into Artisan Chaostic upon completion.
-Entrance into the graphic design subdivision of this core rank consists of your proficient completion of the below test:
--Design a propaganda poster for UAF, or one of its divisions:
It must:
---Promote a specific ideal about UAF (strength, comradery, etc) ---Contain your original work (official UAF items such as the logo, uniform, weapons, forts, etc are exempt from this category) ---Be of high quality (if uploading a decal to ROBLOX absolutely ruins the quality of your piece, I recommend uploading it to imgur and sending the link to the Graphic Design artisan)
Turn this test into Artisan EmptyBaseplates upon completion.
[Part Two: "Tier II to Artisan Guide"; Coming Soon]
With the posting of this thread, all of the aforementioned processes are to begin immediately.
People of the motherland, I would like to personally wish you the best as you find your proper niche within our new system- for it is by YOUR hard work, and YOUR perseverance that we thrive.
PRO PATRIA; VARIANTIA!
For the Motherland; Diversify!
