I'm making a custom textbox. My problem: i & o are locked due to the robox zoom functions. How would you adjust my code in order to make those two keys working, too?

| Well I personally would make a virutal keyboard for keys that are locked, though I don't understand why you would wan't to make a custom out of something other than a textbox. |

| Because roblox's textboxes are buggy and you can't edit the text while the player is typing, nor do you notice changes before the player pressed 'Enter'. |

| Try having the player type into an invisible text box then register the keystrokes while they are typing using :GetMouse() and KeyDown(), then try modifying your pseudo textbox from there. and you could cross check your results with that of the textbox for testing purposes so you know your system is working reasonably well. |

Did you even took a look at my code?
That's exactly what I'm doing, except that KeyDown doesn't fire for 'i' or 'o'.
I asked for a way around this. |

[old post was for Chubbs]
@om: I already tried it, however my problem is that you can't detect when the key is down. Are you sure that there isn't a way around as I want the player to be able to hold the key down and write the letter twice. |

| There's no way around it or maybe one that I'm not aware of. I created a pseudo textbox a while ago and I had to use KeyUp for i & o |

| Firstly, you didn't post any code, secondly, I said use a textbox as a way around this, or use a virtual keyboard, those two are essentially the only way to do this if roblox has locked them. |

If you don't know what that means then please stay out of my thread. |

| As we are not allowed to post offsite links, we first tell the site and then what comes after the /. So roblox / s-item?id=64570331 is the same as http://www.roblox.com/Patriot-Vision-item?id=64570331 |

| Firstly BAUER, you could have just posted here. Secondly, that is still breaking the Roblox rules, and thirdly and lastly, you are looking for an answer you will neven get, you idea is pointless and so is your quest to get the answer that will never come. |

'Firstly BAUER, you could have just posted here.' - Let's just ignore the forum's lacking syntax highlighting.
'Secondly, that is still breaking the Roblox rules' - Give me one guy that was banned for that. Everyone uses that in the scripters forum and the the admins don't care at all. They're even replying to the same thread and don't say anything.
'and thirdly and lastly, you are looking for an answer you will neven get' - We'll see.
' you idea is pointless and so is your quest' - Useless & biased flaming.

| No, the code is too big, he don't want to occupy space. Technically pastebin / code is not a link so we are not breaking the rule. Roblox TextBoxes are very bad, the text propriety is updated only when the focus is lost, and if ClearTextOnFocus prop is true, you can't modify the Text propriety because when you focus the box again the old text reappears. |

| Technically it is not a link, but it is a reference to another site, also the point of script helpers is that if your script is too long then post the usefull part to it that you need help with, though his script has nothing to do with this question, it is conceptual rather than anything else. |

| Also, BAUR, that was not flaming it is a statement of oppinion and it was unbiased as I have held that oppinion from the beginning. |

| Let's stop arguing. MrChubbs solution could work, but CaptureFocus method is locked, I can't figure a way around this, sorry. |
