@Intagonist,
If you've ever seen the movie '9', then it's basically that.
If not, here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what it is:

Just a few of my personal favorites. |

9, here comes all the memories flooding back to me.
I'd think it'd be a pretty awesome idea, though, what would be the plot? |

That's fan art, by the way.
So, to clarify:
Doll people with a metallic, erm, figure, optics for eyes, some sort of fabric over their metal figures, etc. etc.
In the movie, a scientist gave each stitchpunk character a part of his soul, and thus giving them life. Since these mechanical monsters wiped out the human race, this scientist wanted these creatures to carry out... well, life. .-.
It may sound pathetic, but it's actually a great movie. Surprisingly, this started out as some sort of school project (probably for college) o; |

Well, I don't know yet, actually. ._. I have no idea who the antagonist(s) would be. Perhaps some moar monsturs, rawrr.
In my twisted RP version of '9', I used antagonists with flesh rather than oil and wires. ._. |

The movie 9 starting out as a school project makes it all the more impressive.
For the role-play, what if we re-introduced the mechanical monsters, except this time, they are like the stichpunk characters, with gears and mechanical bits showing? Just an idea to throw out there. |

| But don't they already have gears and mechanical bits? .-. I may be mistaken. |

| Sorry, didn't make myself clear. So basically, my idea is stichpunk people combined with gears and metallic parts. |

OH. That's both an interesting and intriguing idea. I was thinking about using other stitchpunks as antagonists, but I figured they'd be too vulnerable to a whole society of these figures.
But, with enhancements, they could come out to be decent villains/antagonists. |

| An abnormal stichpunk that is twice the size of a regular stickpunk with a large, pressure-based mechanical arm? Maybe he could have a little monocle and top hat. That could be your antagonist. |

| He would probably have a mechanical pet of sorts, because all despicable antagonists need one. |

Well alrighty then.
We'll also need to develop some background for this society, too. In the previous RP, a few of the original stitchpunk Numbers escaped this cavern city and discovered that the rest of the land was just like the cavern city- desolate.
Now, as to how they created all of these other characters that live in the society, I have no clue. |

| Well, in the movie, it ends with rain filled of bacteria falling on the desolate land, creating new life. |

And, rain that gives the stitchpunks life? Huh?
I'm a bit confused. .-. |

| Well, the bacteria would grow more life, and evolve into plants and eventually animals, like modern day. Maybe they had this intricate machine that harvested plants and the machine re-built the plant's molecular structure so it could be remodeled into an amorphus, that could be put inside the rag-doll. |
