I just want to see what people think. The latest Washington Post shows Romney ahead by 0.9%, and he's getting swing states like crazy. But then there was that 47% video - will that hurt him at all? Will the hurricane have any effect at all? Obama seems to have an edge, considering that he is deemed in higher regard worldwide. Historically, presidents who foreign countries like Europe and the U.K. want to win, end up winning (i.e. 2008, 2000, etc.). Furthermore, if Europeans were included in the election, Obama would definitely be the winner. Will Europe influence American voters? Also, only 7% (according to Gallup) support Obama for re-election (due to Libya, Pakistan-Iran, etc.).

Only 7% of Middle East countries, taking seven countries into account. Sorry for that, typing too fast.

it's a really really close election so nobody can say
ultimately it will depend on the swing states, hopefully without any ballot problems like florida in 2000 |

Yes, nobody knows who will win, but can we not form predictions based on various factors? This was meant as a "poll" -- seeing what people think.

Yeah, it is a very close election. One might compare it to a heated chess game, what with each candidates demonstrating the value of sacrifices, the pitfalls of a passive approach, the importance of consistency, planning for the future.
I doubt it, but it might end up as an electoral collage/popular vote split. And the result of this could be a change in the electoral system. The United States electoral system limits the power of the People, resulting in a serious need for an electoral system reform. Also, statistically (according to Gallup) Americans want the electoral college eliminated. And also, there isn’t a significant amount of difficulty in removing the U.S. electoral system. According to (I believe CNN, maybe The Economist) on October 7th 2012 regarding the Popular Vote Initiative, if states totalling 270 electoral votes sign on to the National Popular Vote initiative, in which they pledge to give their electoral vote to whichever candidate wins the popular vote, the deed would be done.

Obama will win. He has around an 80% chance of winning according to Nate Silver, and he's pretty accurate. Also, Ron Paul ballots don't count. He could get 100 Million votes, but he isn't registered, so they don't count.

They are not important, Romney and Obama are the only ones who have a decent shot at winning. If you argue with this, then you've made a very bad and illogical point. Look at where we are in the election, and the current stati. between the two.
