At RSI we have been working to discover more about the problem of lag. Lag is the experince of pauses in game which happens to most people. The main problem with lag is that the although screenplay pauses, the game does not, so many users find that it is very annoying. At a research facility ( still under construction : http://www.roblox.com/Future-RSI-CERN-testing-facilty-place?id=92872132 ) we did a number of tests and cam up with the following formula
lag = (amount of moving bricks x the amount of bricks on screen)/computer processing power
We are working on a script to incorperate this into our games to reduce lag.

Lag usually exists because someone's internet is too slow.
Roblox does not take a lot of processing power. |

| Although this may be correct and i have no doubt that it is , the speed of ones internet depends on the processing power of the computer you are working on. Thus the formula still works |

and we trust you because you have 2 posts. k yeah.
any way.don't try to sound scientific.
we all know it's usually the internet (AT LEAST IN MY CASE)
this will just umpf out some of the lag like 5% from Roblox. |

Although i have only 2 posts, i also did some research into this and found that although the Internet is a factor , as I said in my last post that is at least partially reliant on the processing power.
I would also like to point out that although this is a working law, I have set up a group for other people who would like to work out the laws of physics for roblox. It is at this link and has no members at this time . "http://www.roblox.com/My/Groups.aspx?gid=723991"
I have yet to create a script to include this formula but i am thinking of making a numerical value for each of the variables and putting them in the workspace , each with their own auto-update script. The auto-update script would in turn have a set of variables which are for each of the players in game. It would then find out the average of these variables and update the variables it is in.

I have recently perfected my lag testing machine on RSI/CERN Testing facility. It has already produced interesting results.
The lag machine is a machine which is 20x40x105 studs in total. It has a number of bricks which produce, when turned on bricks which fall and disappear when the touch the bottom. You can control the speed at which it creates bricks. The maxium number of bricks, we have deduced to be 10 bricks per second. There are 64 of the brick spawners which creates 640 bricks per second on screen. This is a considerable amount and creates lag.
The first results of this when we put it onto 10 bricks per second were very intersting. Although at previous speeds and at a still paused game there is enough space for all 10 bricks to fit in the container, when there were 640 bricks per second onscreen the bricks piled up above the briks spawners. This eventually leads to the conclusion that scripts must run on a virtually lag free server compaired to the game but must be following in almost simultaneous which our characters walk around in and shows that current lag meters (which operate on a wait time ) do not work. This is because the scripts work on a different but simultaneous version of the game so the bricks that create the lag meter do not have different wait times so lag will always appear to be the same (which i have expericed on many laggy games).
