@meldo

It's not just candy, to me, costumes are fun to wear. Especially morph suits

Also, who doesn't want free candy?

"It's not just candy, to me, costumes are fun to wear. Especially morph suits"

Costume Parties.

"Also, who doesn't want free candy?"

If you think about it: It isn't free. You have to spend somewhere from $20-$100 for a costume. You could just buy candy for that much.

@alnick

"candy"

Buy candy.

"friends"

Hang out with friends/Costume Party.

"fun"

Fun is not a valid reason as to why it's fun.

What's more fun than blackmailing people to give you candy or else you will trick them?

@meldo

Please let me know when you meet someone who actually has costume parties. I doubt anyone in my entire city even knows what that is. Also, it is free.

The costume may not be free, but the candy is. You don't even need a costume, last year I went without one and still got candy.

There is no joy, though. All of the things that could possibly bring joy have easy substitutions.

"Please let me know when you meet someone who actually has costume parties. I doubt anyone in my entire city even knows what that is. Also, it is free."

More people know of them than you think. And if no one is holding one, you hold one. Honestly, if the costume is such a perk people will obviously flock to it.

"The costume may not be free, but the candy is. You don't even need a costume, last year I went without one and still got candy."

The cost of the costume nullifies the freedom of the candy. You'll probably get $10 of candy, whereas your costume, at minimum was probably $20. You're losing $10.

As for not wearing a costume:

1. That completely destroys the purpose of Halloween. To wear costumes of monsters to scare them away.
2. Your clothing would still nullify the costs of the candy.

"meldo wants to kill halloween"

Yes. Muhahahahaha.

"let's make him watch the nightmare before christmas"

Already seen it, mate.

Begging someone older then you for a treat is indeed juvenile. It's why you don't see a bunch of adults running around knocking on doors for a sweet, because they grew up. As you grow up you don't find things you once found fun interesting anymore. Like the teletubbies or other stuff meant for very young children.

I'm sorry, I live in Mississippi. We don't hold little costume parties, we actually go out and have fun like normal people. Yes you may lose $10 but the costume can make the experience more fun, so it's usually worth it IMO.

1. Costume Parties are not a regional thing. I'm sure there are costume parties in Mississippi, you're just being lazy and not finding one.

2. You don't have to go out to have fun, mate.

3. Again: Costume Parties
