This is just my opinion, answer if you'd like to enlighten me on why one should respect and/or obey high ranks of various clans.
Definition of Respect by Merriam-Webster: A feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
I don't see why everyone feels such an obligation to respect high ranks, and do as they're told and when they're told. First of all, it's on an online game. The time you spend doing something actually productive [eg. learning to play piano [better], studying, reading books, running, etc.] will be looked back upon as time better spent than if you were to dedicate time to this game we know as ROBLOX. How do I have an obligation to respect some undeserving kid on the internet? High ranks don't deserve any respect whatsoever, unless I deem them worthy of this "respect". The definition of respect is a "feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements". A huge chunk (maybe even a majority) of high ranks nowadays either sent in an application, had friends in higher places, or simply did not do anything significant that justifies them for being a high rank - and many of these people are ill-prepared and lack the qualities necessary for an administrative position in a clan. Furthermore, people are going to say that they respect high ranks because they have to in order to be promoted. What's so good about being promoted anyways? I fail to see how trying to gain a high rank position results in any sort of happiness or gain. You don't gain any genuine respect, there's nothing particularly fun about being a high rank, you don't gain a significant amount of tickets (from place visits for trainings) -- the only positive impact I see is your reputation. And who cares about a reputation on an online block-building toy? Sure, you may say that you may one day own the clan. Also, dedicating this time to be deemed worthy of being the owner of a clan is only worth it if it is a superclan. However, you're better off just starting your own clan rather than the slim chance that you'll one day own the clan. I mean, will I cooperate at trainings? If I feel like it. Will I refer to the trainers as "sir" or "ma'am"? No, because they are not deserving of me making this notion in any way whatsoever. Will I stand [by verbal force] in line? No, and in the case that a high rank tries to position me to stand on a line, I will do exactly the opposite and stand anywhere BUT where that line is situated whilst supplying reason. |

| It's a game buddy. If you don't like respecting High ranks, leave. This is how C&G does it. |

| @BOSS Exactly, it's a game. So why should I refer to a fellow ROBLOXian player as "sir" or "ma'am". You say that this is how C&G does it -- then C&G act without reason and rational thought, don't they? |

It's more of a RolePlay to be in a clan.

| @TheBeta The point of this thread is to "enlighten me on why one should respect and/or obey high ranks of various clans." The point of this thread is mainly the product of the fact that the majority of C&Gers feel like they have a moral obligation to respect high ranks of their various respective clans, but when you look at it from a different perspective, it makes little to no point. |

| Majority of clans have a roleplay aspect to them. |

| It appears that my wall (of text) had an obvious hole in it: the roleplay factor. |

Agreed with boss. It's a game, yes...but when someone makes a group, they own it, and they have rules. If you don't respect the rules, then why bother joining the clan? |

Jake, I can give you a solid explanation actually.
The reason why people respect their high ranks isn't solely for the purpose of respecting their high ranks, but for the same reason as people to do in real life. Ranks suggest that there's some kind of group of some kind established with a hierarchy. The reason they respect it is to support the organization of the clan so the clan can accomplish it's goals.
This goes onto the second point (or reason) of why they do, which is because they want to see the clan succeed. By supporting the system they're involved in, they're allowing the clan to succeed and be a part of that success which is why people want to be in clans and be high ranks in clans.
