What do you think? Hot or not? Do you consider getting it? Who already uses the Win-8 pro version?
--
I think Win8 is beautifull (I checked it out in a store while I was at the shopping centre with my sister), and I like the starter-gui thing. It's definitly something to get used to, and maybe categorizing apps would make it easier to find it.
I didn't have much time so I couldn't check everything out, but I couldn't find the desktop thing, but 'am definitly interested to explore more of Win8...And you?
-- And please Sorcus, I couldn't find any other forum to post this in and OT doesn't quite uhm...have the appropiate way of communicating. |

Yes it is, I even saw stores have computers wich have Windows 8 (pro). I think it was releases earlier this week as I already saw reclames earlier.
Also, I think you could download and upgrade for €30 at microsoft's site, else it is like €60 I believe. |

| @Arceus: You mean it's cheap, right? I think it's too, but be aware if it's the right version etc. |

| AMD made a special 12.10 driver which focused on making graphics faster for Windows 8 and so far it seems to have got the thumbs up. |

It's something out of the box, that's for sure.
The new ultrabooks look pretty captivated as well, not sure if I'm going to be buying one or not though.

I'm very surprised at how many companies have released their first full computer with Windows 8. I think Windows 8 has just given every single hardware company an opportunity to have a massively supported OS that is great on mobile devices, which we haven't seen before. In every other mobile OS, you only get a 'store' of apps, whereas Windows 8 is mobile and can run every program Windows 7 could.
It's massive.
Even companies like GIGABYTE and ASUS who have previously only made computer parts now have their own mobile computer. |

| @Pre: Glad to hear that. Now I'm curious what will leak out of the pan when we mix Win8 and Android on stove. |

Wasn't there a 'killswitch' feature in Win8?

There was some news website that said windows 8 has a killswitch feature that could wipe out data when activated... not sure if trolling or not, but could be possible.

I'll stick with Windows 7. Although Windows 8 does look pretty cool. |

I just read about the killswitch, but I only kept seeing "it will only be used for apps". Does that mean it only can be used on apps or does it mean it can be used on anything, but they only want to use it for apps?
I'm not entirely confident in the security of this killswitch. |

| I might switch to Windows 8, I might not for a long time. Probably when I get a Surface or something I might switch over on other computers if I can get a haxed copy lolololol |

| If I do switch, I'm going to wait for them to iron out the bugs. |

Windows 8 would be okay for a tablet or touch computer.
For normal people that don't like fingerprints on their screen, it's terrible. |

I tested the consumer preview. It's definitely better then Windows Vista, so I'm upgrading.
ROBLOX does work on it.
The only funky things about it is the new method of navigation (Which just takes time to get use to).
I've been gathering product keys and whatnot around my house in anticipation I'll need them, since I'm doing a clean install of Windows 8. |
