Aren't you tired of spam on your own game? How about those flamers that are there just to troll your game or product? I don't know about you but I am.
So thats why I suggest a system to delete comments on an item/place that you own. This would be a huge help to people that have new games that have been barely visited, and some troll comes and spams/flames the comments. Now their post is there forever!
So, everyone should start bumping this if they support! :D

Or perhaps a system similar to youtube's, in which players can "like/dislike" comments. Comments with a certain amount of negative votes would be subjected for deletion.

@sith
I wouldn't like that. Because you'd need quite a few people to dislike to delete something. But if only the creator could delete something would be better. |

The downside to the creator having absolute control is that he could have copied the product/game or is falsely advertising something; players would try to warn other players of it and the creator would just delete their comments.

If the player is scamming or doing something potentially dangerous then the player should report it, not discuss it in the comments.

But in the case of a copied product/game, how is the player to know it is copied if they have not seen it before? Comments make the player aware, and giving the creator the authority to delete specific comments is detrimental to that awareness

Okay you don't understand. A newbie won't care what the comments say if the game looks fun. And a veteran player will be able to distinguish it on his own. You should still be able to report the game too.

There might be too few people who've seen the product/game before, and that would mean even fewer reports. With a low report rate, the likelihood is that the product/game would not be noted by the administrators and would stay, giving everlasting, false credit to the creator of the copied game or product. The ability to comment freely on a product or game allows the whole community to be aware that the product/game is copied, and therefore produces far more reports, which gets the administrators and mdoerators aware that that product/game should be investigated and increases the likelihood that it should be banned.

That doesn't matter, with or without comments people will still play the game. And get this through your head. The only people who will report the game are experienced players, and experienced players can tell the difference if a game is copied or not without comments.
