What is more important to you:
A clan leader who has a personality which can be easily related to; you can talk to them whenever you like and however you like, but has obvious flaws which they don't want light to be shone on,
Or,
A clan leader who strictly sticks to ideals, acts as a "mask" or an "icon" for that ideal, but doesn't get personal life mixed in to the equation to avoid an influx of pride or the chance of ruining the image of that ideal?

We're talking about Roblox Clans, What do you think is the most important aspect of a clan, Have you ever gotten bored of a clan? Why might that be?

Let me reword the initial question:
What's best in the longrun? For the sake of that clan?

@Attic,
You can NOT have both.
They're completely different things, and a middle ground would be a terrible option.

Hahah! This is a tough cookie to think about.
But, in theory, these both would fail, if just one leader was to have just one of these, the clan would become corrupt, and things would get out of control. That is why a leader has High ranks, for with out them to keep him in place, or what I stated would happen, so IF the leader had people to keep him in place, and not get corrupted themselves, etc etc, I would go with the second one.

Aurarus, excellent example of Vaktus and ColourTheory.
The point is, say a person such as CT, who contacts people most of the time, he only inactive from ROBLOX, since he has college. He leaves the leadership to be a responsiblity of the Grand Admirals.
Vaktus runs an 'empire', and he has a life to live. He leaves VAK to be run by his trusted General, liam. He doesn't show himself to the ROBLOX community, as of haters and 'trolls' of such, who despise him.

I think that it is possible to achieve a desirable medium of personality and discipline.
I'd say it's better to be Stalin, and be personable than to be totally personable and non-disciplined.

Each group is striving in its own way;
One is elite, and destroys the small clans in it's path, but damages the big clans.
One is formed with Intellect, Honor, Design and Combat, which excells due to it's functioning system and it's strong history.

@ fliboys
That's what I like to think as well.
But my experience in clans has taught me that the more "personable" one is, the less they achieve or the less "power" they have.
It's unfortunate, and does have an explanation for why that's the way it is; I wanted this thread to be directed towards that. :p |

This is a question on morales, and how much a leader should sacrifice/ keep. |

The best leader is someone who shows qualities of both. I dont like too strict leaders as they just make the group boring but I dont like leaders who have little to no rules.
LOOK LEFT ---> You fail

@fliboys
'biased'
Why am I talking about two clans bashing their heads together in a long lasting war in a positive way, when I despise of VAK's idea of shutting down groups, and dislike RAT having a base which was successful for 2 weeks, then ended up nowhere on the 4th week.

A mix of both is a complete mess.
You can't have both.
They're completely different ideals.

I've had that thought as well.
It just seems very... Risky. And counter intuitive. |

Well, it is working in MANY groups as of right now. The problem is, they aren't doing it right. They are both one or the other, not one strict, fearsome, strong, and one, easy going, not afraid to speak his opinion, a friend, etc etc. As long has you have a good balance between the two, it would be a POWERHOUSE. But, many clans to not accomplish this, usually because of greed, wealth difference, betrayal, not having faith, etc. But, in some, like VAK for example, Has Vaktus as the 'Leader' and Liam as the 'Leader' When VAK doesn't lead, Liam leades. Not sure what their personality is, but I assume they are quite different, but get along.

Everyone wants to be a respected leader.
But also, to those saying "there should be a balance," the degrading qualities are what create the good qualities, and vice versa.
A personal leader can't hold an image for a clan or an ideal (Unless that image IS to be personal)
It just doesn't work that way.
