| I believe that game companies that focus on a single game and don't split their resources among a network of games will see a better future because players like to see consistent updating and additions. When you have multiple games in a single company, less resources get directed towards older titles. Riot Games has proven this with their only title League of Legends and Blizzard has proven how spreading from WoW to Warcraft 3 to SC II is bad with their declining player base and consumer satisfaction. |

@aboy
I was pretty satisfied with some of the games LucasArts made for the PC.

So I'm assuming that with their new Greenlight feature, you think Valve has a bleak future? |

| Yes, but the current game economy is driven by rapidly updating your game to improve with the players, not shoving out more games to appease them. People are more into the addictive games that they can play forever. Minecraft does this through regular updating of EVERYTHING as does League of Legends with constant balancing and new champion releases. |

@Aboy
Steam is a place where to get games by different compaies, Valve itself, only has 3 big ones they constantly update. one that probably agrees with you as the updating is TF2.
But people really want HL3.

@RagEgnite
That's entirely different. Valve doesn't develop the Greenlight games. It just picks ones to be put onto Steam made by external developers. Completely different concept. |

| Also my 2nd post on this thread was in reference to mikey on Lucas Arts for PC games, not Valve or Greenlight. |

@rached Maybe it's... thrash metal? Gabe Newell likes Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax? -- ≈Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!≈ |

Doh, ignore previous post.
Anyway, they are only going to update TF2 and Portal 2.
HL is the only thing they need to worry about.
