It was mainly meant to prevent the United States into becoming a Theocracy, but Creationism and evolution should be taught in the public school system. Many private schools do just that, they present both sides to the class, teach them the pros and cons of both, and at some points even let the class debate it vocally.
The public schools should do the same, you can say, "Creationism is faith-based, evolution is fact-based" but that's untrue. You take evolution by faith if you think about it. Did you observe evolution taking place, no, no scientist(s) did there is evidence to back up evolution, but not to confirm that there's no other scientific explanation.
It's the Problem of Induction, Generalizing about the properties of a class of objects based on some number of observations of particular instances of that class or Presupposing that a sequence of events in the future will occur as it always has in the past, for example, that the laws of physics will hold as they have always been observed to hold

Sorry, no. The scientific evidence for evolution is overwhelming.
Is general relativity faith based? What about cell theory? |

@Ryplayer That sounds quite opinion-based and I've heard the statement quite a lot. |

| ...because its true. And it's not opinion based, it's fact based. You simply can't prove otherwise. |

@Jimmie Hm, you just attempted to make me look hypocritical, I used quite a lot of fact in the base of my post considering the Problem of Induction, and the origins of the Separation of Church and State are fact-based. |

@Jimmie I figured you'd say that, then I suggest you look it up yourself. |

| The way you're speaking about it makes me think you're biased towards creationism. |

@Rachet I'm not biased, I myself am a Creationist, but I also respect the views of others. |

| It's a good idea to not post threads attempting to promote creationism on this forum because it never ends well for the thread starter. |

Most public schools do offer the decision. I have been taught about both sides of the argument from primary school and we have discussed it in full. But there is simply no evidence of divine beings having ever tampered with our land whilst there are multiple theories with evidence that backs them up that can prove that it happened this way.
To be honest - Finding that there's another variable in something you've already figured out is highly unlikely, even doing it again is a bit battynuggets. |

Why do insecticides stop working after a while? The Insect has now adapted, it "evolved", it no longer is killed by this former poison.
There you go, you just proved that organisms change according to their environment. Enough o theorize about evolution.
I'm religious, don't get me wrong, Muslim to be precise. But there are some tales in religion that are obviously made up. Mohammed cutting the moon in half, Moses slamming his staff and cracking the earth.
Today some people believe that Neil Armstrong heard the Adhan on the moon, this is obviously a fake made-up story, people could've easily made up stories in a similar fashion back then, and they are depicted as facts. |

1. the separation of church from state was actually started in Europe, USA shared little of this battle.
"but Creationism and evolution should be taught in the public school system."
2. No... Public should focus on what lands you a career. You need to know evolutionism for biology... Creationism is faith, and cannot land you a career. 3. People tend to mix school to get a future, with faith as you just did.

4. Wtf... Sure there may be idiots that agree with anything, but evolutionism is backed up... Faith is something you can't back up. 5. You don't have to actually have to experience something for it to exist... Take for instance the remains of a blown up star... You can find ways to discovering what it once was from the remnants of the past, and comparing it to other points of history and the present. There are tons of other ways, your just clearly void of any creative thinking.
