Why don't you guys create a fog that will limit the sight to only do far? I think that's a good idea because not only would it look neat, it would let slower PCs work better with games. I mean, only nearby bricks would be seen, thus making gameplay much greater enjoyment. I thought that you guys would be interested in that idea. Please reply.

| That's a good idea... but for someone like me, it would just get annoying because my computer can handle whatever ROBLOX can throw at it. I'm not trying to gloat, just saying that if you implemented this, you should probably have an option so that users with higher-end machines can turn it off while users with lower-end machines can adjust the culling distance. |

Awesome idea - we do consider this the ultimate way to allow a PIII 700 with an 8 MB graphics card to be usable in a 100,000 brick world!
We have this on our list.
Thanks!

| Of course. You could turn off the fog for higher-end users. Of course with me, however, I would want it on, because it would make it look misty and cool! |

| I think what we really want is a Roblox weather system - so you can pick what the weather is in your level: foggy, rainy, snowing, sunny, umm thats all i can think of right now. |

leeor,
If you have a high-end machine, then go to Tools -> Options -> Rendering
You can turn on anti-aliasing and shadowing there. I would *not* recommend toying with the other settings ;)

Actually, I forced the anti-aliasing on my GPU awhile ago. Looks a lot better... :-) And still runs at a very good framerate.
Actually, I have to say that I'm impressed with the physics. I'm a programmer myself and so seeing something like this is always amazing to me. There's just so much that could potentially be done with both the client and the web interface and there are so many possiblities. Not to mention, this is the only game I know of that allows people to creatively use cube-style 'bricks' to build huge worlds. (I love being able to fling rockets at a building at watch them fly apart... truelly awesome)
Anyway, awesome work! Thanks go to all of you on the development team! I just wish I could contribute somehow besides bug reports... -_- |

Wow. Look at how the grammar slopes downward after the last 6'ers stop posting. This is terrible, and you can just see then noob rising apocalypse coming on in roblox. Terrible terrible terrible. |
