AKA, Gook Fanboy's botched collab repost failure #173
This is basically an off-the-factory line idea where humanity's colonized everything from Mars to the outer planets, all of which used to be under a single Federation
The limits of distance and communication, along with a lot of human rights issues, severs the ties of the colonies, which are at this point fully developed and with active military fleets
This is less along the lines of "BUILD AND CONQUER FLEET BATTLES DURRRRR" than it is an experiment over how future cultures are going to be like, war-time resentment and delicate issues set in an entirely different scenario
EX, Mars is likely a rugged state built on the ethics of hard work; this philosophy was permanently etched in their ideals during the turmoil of the 2100s, when Earth's resource crisis meant it could no longer send aid and support to the then-extremely dependent early Martian colonies (The events of 400 years ago still give tension between the Federation and Mars when the time for diplomacy comes) |

Oh, look at me.
I'm alone again, and I'm running out of Haagen Dazs ice cream for when I'm having existential crises |

| This would be pretty good. Would there be any artificial evolution, like genetic manipulation, to make living on the colonies easier? If so, that'd also add a bit of racial tension along with national tension. |

Probably.
Jovian nations are going to be mostly tall, black-haired with pale skin from the absence of sunlight inside their stations.
Mars ethnicity might have something like tanned skin and greyed hair, etc
Tensions between the now-independent colonies and Earth itself is going to be a major pivot for barely-concealed racism/xenophobia |

The bottom line for military is going to be just about the same.
Tanks, rifles, etc, just with sci-fi notches and whatnot.
Jovians, being origianlly colonized for research operations near the rare gasses on Jupiter/Saturn, are going to have the most advanced weaponry which probably involves something like plasma.
Mars is going to be more along the lines of extreme-heavy duty ballistics, gauss cannons, glorified combustion fusion drives, the like. Made to be as economical and practical as possible which is traditional of their philosophy (Which dates back to the dark days of the early 2100s)
Federation is going to be more or less the most human of the 3 major superpowers (Mars tech is still going to be distinctly Terran-feelish), but I haven't thought too much about them yet |

"Not everyone would hate eachother though, right?"
Of course, not.
They're simmering tensions; Mars colonists' cynicism for the Earth/Federation/whatever ever since their perceived abandonment in the Earth resource crisis of the 2100s, the Jovians' clash with Mars for control of the asteroid belts, the Federation's helpless loss of the Jovian state when they didn't want to be lab rats for Earth. No one's really bred to be zealous but these things are very much real just like they are right now with our countries. |

| In the military is their going to be space ships. Like frigates and things of the sort. If not how are each faction supposed to transport troops if they do go to war. |

Of course.
Jovian ships have a pseudo-glassish look to them, high tech and borderline alien.
I'm thinking that the Mars fleet would be signature greyed metal with bright-orange trim as highlights in between the fissures of plates. Which is very roughly something like the Terran design from SC2
For Earth/The Federation, probably something along the lines of the Gallente from EVE Online but not too influenced |

| For some reason. I now have the image of the Jovian fleet being covenant like and the Earth fleet being something like the UNSC or ships from Gundam. The Mars I am still picturing. Maybe I should look up what your talking about so I get a better idea. XD |

| Bottom line for appearance, Federation is the most 'down to Earth' looking, Mars is rugged, and Jovians are like a deadly butterfly. |

That's fine;
By the way, what faction would you probably play as?
Just so I can do a bit of balancing to make sure no one's going to all flow to a single faction like that puddle of fungus water in the corner of your house |

Probably as an RP because I want a lot of in game interaction to fill a whole solar system.
What about the plot? |
