In my lifetime, I've always debated myself over which writing implement is the superior choice. I've always been beguiled by the pencil's simple, traditional demeanor. No need for fancy plastics or metals, just good old wood and graphite. But the pencil has a short lifespan, and is prone to fracture which can lead to frustration, and frustration can lead to more fractures causing a vicious cycle of snapping and obscenities. The pen, however cannot fracture with normal usage and lasts much longer than a pencil. Pens also can have convenient parts like clips and grips. I own a pen made from African Blackwood and silver, and it has lasted very long (With refills). But I still occasionally find myself ogling a pencil, yearning for the feel of simplicity on my fingers. Currently I prefer my pen to my various pencils, and minus the disadvantage of not having an eraser it seems to me the superior choice. I just wanted to know your opinions on this delicate and controversial topic. Thanks.
TL;DR: Read it you ignoble fool. |

| i like to write with pens because of how fluid and long lasting they are and draw with pencils because you have so much more control over the form and opacity of the line |

@Ooz
I only use my pen for writing, and I do agree pens are not as artistically talented as their wooden cousins. |

I just don't like it when the ink out of a pen spills/"bleeds out" and I prefer to erase |

| I like to write with pencils, because pens have less friction and it goes sliding all over the place. |

lol that's actually why i prefer pens for writing in the first place i often need to take long, quick notes or write long, quick essays that require something like a pen that can just glide over the paper quickly and easily and get words on the paper as fast as possible also a lot 'funner' i guess to write with a pen because the gliding thing makes letters all round and loopy and fun and soft and friendly looking
to each their own though :p |

@lion
Yes, the major drawback of using a pen seems to be the inability to erase, and whiteout is sloppy and unprofessional. Then again the writing of a pen, in my own opinion, looks much more neat than that of a pencil. Good points. |
