OK, now. I'm guessing this suggestion was brought up many times before. Now, now, please don't be mad at me yet!
What I know is; Roblox cancelled the option to upload our own audio either because people started uploading inappropriate sounds/music or because there was too much uploaded which caused crashing or something(???)
Well, this idea just popped in my head that may solve this. I'll try to explain it the best way I can.
-Every week, only 2 audio sound effects/songs can be uploaded.
-If there was 2 uploaded already, it will say that you can't upload any this week.
-The uploaded audio must be approved by the mods.
-After it is approved, everyone can vote which audio they want in Roblox, this or that.
-The audio that gets most votes will be added to Roblox and other users will be able to take it (if the owner allows it).
-If both sound effects/songs get the same amount of votes or none at all, none will be added.
-You could only upload 1 audio each week AND if it gets added to Roblox once, you'll have to wait one week until you are able to upload audio again.
Does this sound fair enough? I might've forgot a few things so if I notice I'll add them.
Please tell me what you think of this! What is negative and positive about this suggestion? |

@"-Every week, only 2 audio sound effects/songs can be uploaded."
Per person or everyone altogether?
@"-After it is approved, everyone can vote which audio they want in Roblox, this or that."
Can be abused with alts.

| How about: You get to upload one a week, to prevent alt abuse accounts with the same email address cannot upload multiple things via alts. Before being 100% released to the public, a moderator has to approve. After that, it can be posted to ROBLOX. But if the sound effect/track gets too many negative votes (10 negatives if the track has less than 10 positives, 1 more negative than there are positives if the track has 10 or more positives,) it will be removed from the ROBLOX website and all existing copies will be wiped and replaced with a "Sorry" message. "Sound" good? (Intended pun, and intended 1337% support.) |

| @boombombob: Yes, this sounds great! I had the same idea about the alt abuse thing. And for the rest that you've written is what I was trying to explain...i think. Haha, thanks for clearing it up XD |

It's _*STILL*_ abusable in oh so many ways.
For one example, there's certain genres of music that are inapropriate, but don't sound so.
Take extratone for exmaple. At 1000 BPM, words can be really blured, so someone can break it and get away with it.
Another example for this is bad songs in a forign language.
Another example is ultrasound. Audio was changeable in pitch. And it still is. Find a song that breaks the rules, make it ridiculously high pitched, near ultrasound, then lower it.
Also, audio can have copyright issues sometimes. The american soundtrack for sonic CD is a prime example.
If they truely want music, they should just outright make it themself. |

Hmm...I agree with you on the very last thing.
Well the audio could be un-editable. And if the words are already blurred at 1000 BPM, no one can figure what's the lyrics in the song is saying, which means the inappropriate words in the song would be blurred too and not heard.
The copyright thing...Umm... Mods could just reject those stuff instead of approving it.
And perhaps the audio could be divided into 2 sections, the music, and the sound effects. Oh and the moderators would have to listen ALL of it before approving it for voting XD it's not that much because it's only like...Once a week.

the reason they disabled it was primarily because it used a tremendous amount of site bandwidth, and it would eventually reach such a state again at 2 songs per week
also basically everything gaia said and more |

| But...Then I can't understand how the problem isn't the same with the models that users make. |

| the models are a saved bit of data that tells the game exactly where to put bricks and scripts and in what way, sounds are quite a large file which is why they take so long to get playing when inserting one for the first time |

Also, keyloggers can be inserted into sounds.
Keyloggers are nasty viruses that can detect every press and click of your keyboard/mouse.
Very good for PGing. |
