replace it with a meritocratic system where members are supposed to submit an application which contians some guidelines but is otherwise freely written and then have that application judged by a panel to determine the next group of leaders, the leaders cycling out every 4 weeks, and being unable to serve two consecutive terms
UCR's elections have thus far proven less than productive; my alternative, being that I believe the elections should be abolished, is a meritocratic system. Members will submit an application which will give guidlines, but is otherwise freely written.
There will be a panel of 5 directors who will judge the applications (this could be done via xf. or the private messaging system, that can be worked later) to determine the next group of "Senators" (this rank's future name is open to debate) the "Senators" will cycle out every 4 weeks and are not allowed more than one consecutive term.
Applications WILL NOT HAVE NAMES!!! Someone (like the president or a VP) must number the applications with an ID. That ID and the person who has it will be held on a secret list on the person who issues the ID number (the president most likely). This is done to prevent bias opinions from judges.
Drafting of the application will begin once I see that most people agree with this. |

| Truly brilliant idea, but 4 weeks is a tad little time, I suggest 10 weeks. And in the middle of the 5 weeks maybe you could check in to see if a Senator (or whatever it is changed to) isn't doing their job correctly. |

| 10 weeks is WAY too much. 4 weeks had always worked well for UCR/ |

4 weeks is about a month.
We want such short periods that way everyone gets a chance to serve. |

Mm... True. But I believe the members should at least have the ability to request the demotion of a Senator who hasn't been doing his/her/it's job correctly. Of course, they need proof and if no proof is supported just wait until proof is provided (multiple occasions and reports increase chances).
It's just an idea as I have never been in UCR before and don't know how it works. |

why not just pick 1 senator every 3 weeks that keep their rank
senators can be demoted as needed still |

OH AND EVERYONE I APOLOGIZE:
Only Mx ranks are able to apply******************
Once their term is over they are demoted. They can have more than one term, but not consecutively.
and they should not be called Senators... |

This is a good system but I with their was a way to get rid of this term thing. That seems to be one of the flaws with the elections. |

@MeeOh
All members have the right to and are encouraged to report them to the president or VPs.
Do so when need be, we'll handle it.
@Purple
We could do that. It would cause some slight inflation. Maybe there can be channels devised where you can earn your right to stay at the rank. |

| I agree,but I think that former senators shouldn't go back to L7 or something,but be a Mx. Unless they haven't been doing their job right. |

| Right, and although it seems like a lot we would only be gaining 17 senators a year. |

Good point. It's all open to debate and editing, I just want to see that a majority do agree. |

| Support. Building on the idea a little here. First off, we need to make a rule that the same paragraph/entry can not be used twice. This would be used to prevent someone from just reentering a already successful entry. Also, I think that after the 4 week term, the members in general should vote on 1 of the senators to become a long term representative, like the council rank. This is done so that if their is an outstanding leader who does great hints for UCR and greatly improves it we will not need to wait an additional month to have them back in office. Also, this would be a good thing to add as it keeps UCR's democratic side in play. |

@Eatable
I like your proposal, it does give UCR that "democratic" edge. BUT that's what I'm kind of trying to remove. Voting is so complicated and has so much wrong done in it.
We could make two systems of advancing to high ranks in UCR. But I think we can deliver this first and plan for other systems later. |
