| Fiskars, a Finnish company renowned for their scissors, make axes, hatchets, and mauls that are a mere $20-$40 and are comparable to $100+ hatchets, axes, and mauls. The way this is achievable is through synthetic materials over natural, which results in a lighter product and less maintenance over a natural product. The only downside is that you can't use them as a fire-poker without the handle melting, but who uses an axe as a fire poker in the first place? |

Sounds like they're made of Carbon Fibre
Which is lightweight yet very, very durable
Probably the best material to make tools and stuff out of |

@gecko
i believe they listed the material as "fibercomp"
also the head is over-molded so it's "virtually unbreakable" according to them
someone did a test to see how long it would take to break it when hammering it against a blunt surface and i believe it took three hours, and even then it nearly cracked the boulder in half |

@meldo
Never heard of it, but it sounds like it can take a lot of damage before breaking |

@gecko
upon further examination it appears to be their custom product similar to that of carbon fiber
they say it's stronger than steel |
